The first person to "Ollie" was Luke Moore, Alan Gelfand's friend and skate partner. Alan did it better and was the first one to get a sequential shot in skateboarder magazine. Luke got into the magazine first, but it was only a few inches above the coping and not sequential. Alan made the cover of Skateboarder magazine and he was getting about a 2 feet of air! We were all blown away and the skate community named it an "Ollie-pop", later shortened to "Ollie". History lesson from an old-timer.

if you need a treick tip on an ollie u probably shouldnt be skating haha all you do is kick your front foot forward and push the board up simple as that

@fleetcommanderboob i use to have that problem, but then i figured out just to jump with your back foot, you dont jump with both, you have to bring your back foot up after you pop and slide your front foot up, you can lean forward a bit to het a higher drag and to get your back foot up higher.

heres a tip : to get higher ollies, when you pop and slide up the board, try and kick the board foward a tiny bit more. it gives you more height and it makes a cleaner ollie. and always pump your legs up as high as possible. :)
