My greatest regret was who I chose to marry, but after watching all the clips on Nine Inch Nails, Primus and the other amazing bands at Woodstock 1994 I'd have to say that missing this concert is now my #1 regret.
apparently acoriding to wiki Trent said in an interview he thought the band played terrible..........all i can say is i felt sorry for those assholes in metallica that had to follow this
@trys65 Trent Reznors gonna come to your house and cram his dick down your throat for your ignorant outdated fear-based shit. Id be more worried about that.
I was 13 when I went to Woodstock 94' and during NIN's "closer" I had my first kiss with my girlfriend (I'm a girl actually). I remember we thought of the rainstorm as punishment from heaven for sinning and we sinned until her jaw gave put.
@TheDeathnotejunkie I went to see NIN when i think i was 10 or around that when they went to lollapalooza, my parents took my little brother and me XD it wasn't as intense as this concert though because Trent was changing but it was still good! I'm 14 now, thankful that my parents introduced me to this music at an early age and not pop, or sheltered disney music XD
I was in the mud at this show almost all of saturday playing smere the queer with a football til the naked guy guy would grab it. We found a twin mattress and me and another big dude would grab it , start yelling STAGE!!STAGE!! STAGE!! and head for the stage the twin mattress left a 3 foot wide swath of mud. But i was litterally on the fence front row for all 3 of the big bands.
Trent really doesn't like this gig and finds it to be one of their worst but he said. As well Reznor admitted that while he disliked playing at such a large show, it was done for the money: "To be quite frank, it's basically to offset the cost of the tour we're doing right now."
@SatanicalEve i don't think any band likes playing at a big festival such as this, because the sound is so terrible and theirs so much disorganization.
nails is notorious for shitty sound @ live shows... i think they piss off the soundmen or something. seen it happen twice live myself.. @chula vista NINJA show, the mic wasnt on when nails started, ruined the "intro"..
They had a gigantic amount of technical problems because of their pre-show mudbath. Mic's, guitars and keyboards all failed at numerous points. However there were a few songs where everything went off without a hitch.
Trent Reznor always said he did not like his Bands' performance at Wood sStock ,So I never really seen this till now. This is the best performances from that era, what is he talking about?
Remember buying this PPV, there was SO much rain! Everyone's equipment was breaking down. They had to come in between Henry Rollins songs and squeegee the stage off! That any of them weren't electrocuted is amazing. NIN- best show I've ever seen!! :)
@flumflux Of course his parts are still playing, half of NiN sounds are accompanying backing tracks (maybe more in those days!). On their last tour they would do everything live, and it sounded considerably less intense/full sounding.
You know Trent hated his performance but i think it shows a lot of the emotion that goes into a big event like woodstock. Atleast He didnt sell out like a lot of the rest of the acts.
At first I was like "Wow, the rumors are true...they were LITERALLY really dirty back then", but then I realized "Wait, this is Woodstock '94. Isn't that when Green Day stormed off stage because people threw mud at them?!"
@CriticsConfession Not as I recall. Green Day had fun with the mud and Billie Joe Armstrong caught and "ate" the mud someone threw at him (you can search for it as it's on YouTube). They got into a big (rather onesided) mudfight with the crowd. There was a bit of chaos on stage as security couldn't tell (or didn't care to find out) who was in the band and who wasn't; people were getting tackled and carried off, etc. The band didn't wuss out from the onslaught of mud at all. Classic Green Day gig
seriously, i think nins performance at woodstock 94 looked like the craziest concert i have ever seen by any band ever, i would do anything to have gone to it (even though i wasnt born when it happened)
I would like to find the equipment that makes that vocal effect because it's fucking gnarly/badass/awsome/kick ass. and all the fucking above.LONG FUCKING LIVE WOODSTOCK
@shiftyshorty12345678 No Trent like all the fuck ups, he incorporated them into his music, it works when your working with a wall of sound like he does/.
