My Risperidone depot made me so depressed and sick with side-effects especially on the high dose.. it took the joy out of living:-( .. I'm on 2 antidepressants now simultaneously plus a little St John's Wort and I still need a coffee to get going.. the "funny" thing is that the antidepressants have the opposite action of the antipsychotics as far as Dopamine/Nor-Adrenaline and Serotonin are concerned!

I think we shd first try these drugs on our selves (normal beings such as Judges and parents) before forcing a non adult through the process. We have to be the guniea pigs first and foremost. Depression and anxiety are normal parts of growing up. These are not any abnormal symptoms to fight against with with drugs. It is sad that every body in this society is messed up about what is right and wrong.

it has been stated on this site that "kids arent mentally abused" or prescribed in other parts of the world -WRONG; Here in Ireland 100's of kids were DUMPED into mental hospitals, by religious orders that operated Industrial schools, many are still there; Many ended up in prison before they turned 18; many are homeless; not only is it the fault of the religious but the state that allowed such abuses;

Naturally, they're getting more lost than before--not being able to learn the skills of life from an early age. I worked for 30 years in mental health. I took classes with a bunch of IDIOTS and druggies! They were psychologists! Most had mental problems and never should have seen anything. People are stupid/gullable They belive these people. Put a drgree in back of the name and ta da their a expert! 10 different shrinks equal 10 different diagnosis! ALL give meds! It's the new tool in divorce. Kids are the victums! Shrinks/judges/lawyers and now shrinks are all crooked!

When I was 17 my mom didn't want me on anti-depressant. She finally gave in when I was hospitalized for self-injury. I'm glad my mom allowed it then. I was constantly throwing up because I was so anxious, I could barely sit through class, I was going to the hospital on a weekly basis for stitches.Before the medication it was looking like I was going to be dead before my 19 birthday. Medication is pushed on kids too much today but don't discount the fact that these medications do help people.
