  • @pearl1729 and @Liutox008....I agree with pearl...we should not compare..as we can't compare between Sachin Tendulkar and Roger Federer.....Both western and Indian classical have it's own field....

  • @pearl1729 I dont know everything but one thing, purity of string may be tangible but subtlety of raga is divine and intangible, it's a vast ocean of knowledge, western music generally lacks it and it is made for ordinary listener.

    that's true, more people enjoy western classical music, even the common men but indian classical music is for elites, it is a little more 'restricted to the ones who are educated' in this field. however, western music has its own beauty and richness, we shouldn't compare and in that context, even zakir hussain becomes a kid in western classical music, so that's not the way to explain things but I agree with you that this music has some elements more divine and spirituality.
