@chronicbudha I'm glad that you brought up Stockholm Syndrome, that's a larger point that many atheists/christians alike either fail to see, or do not want to see. I think there are at least two main reasons to consider atheism bad news (even if true). The first is that belief in a god makes us happy, for quite obvious reasons: we believe we are unconditionally loved and there's an afterlife of bliss laid up for us.
Second, belief in god provides us with an extra motivation to do what we believe is morally right: namely, pleasing god.
For starters they are the people who let communism kill 94 million people in the past 90 yrs. There is also the logical fallacy atheist like to ignore the atheist worldview does not compute with the belief of morality of any kind.

Evil does not exist and hate only exists because people believe in evil. Please stop calling and thinking of things that are bad as "evil". It doesn't exist. I just wish that people were more aware of the term "evil" and what it means for many religious people. This word is and has been used to dehumanize people with different views of life and justify persecutions and killings. Well, not necessarily religion in particular, given certain religions such as Buddhism don't even believe in any holy and/or supernatural forces and just practice kinds of meditation to promote a content and peaceful state.

Atheism is simply open-mindedness and common sense. Everyone is born an atheist. If there were any decent evidence or reasoning to suggest a god, we'd have heard something by now.
People are threatned by Death and want some part of them to live forever and can not imagine that some day they will not exist. Many use religion to transend death and this relieves their fears to some extent. As an atheist when I say I do not believe in their God I am telling them that they and their loved ones will just die and end. I am not worried that there is a hell but they can not afford to doubt the existence of heaven because their life depends on it. Atheist threaten their coping.

I work at a public school as a teacher's aide and in 2004 an administrator forwarded an office mail that told people who did not believe that this is a Christian nation to shut up and sit down since they are a minority. It also told anyone who did not like it to go back to their own country.

I was an atheist for 27 years. Yahshua (Jesus) tells you, "You have the law and the prophets". The prophets can show you, unquestionably, that YHVH (God) is real. Once you understand He is real, the law will guide you as to what to do. I believe most atheists have not studied the prophets in earnest. If you have and find it unbelievable, you should just let it go, for the centerpiece of our beliefs told you the prophets were to be proof enough.

I think there are at least two main reasons to consider atheism bad news (even if true). The first is that belief in a god makes us happy, for quite obvious reasons: we believe we are unconditionally loved and there's an afterlife of bliss laid up for us.
Second, belief in god provides us with an extra motivation to do what we believe is morally right: namely, pleasing god.
Those seem like pretty good reasons to me.

I just wish that people were more aware of the term "evil" and what it means for many religious people. This word is and has been used to dehumanize people with different views of life and justify persecutions and killings. Well, not necessarily religion in particular, given certain religions such as Buddhism don't even believe in any holy and/or supernatural forces and just practice kinds of meditation to promote a content and peaceful state.
But in general, you are right.
I live in the bible belt of the world (Tennessee) and I will walk by magazines at the grocery saying "Atheists are massing as army against Christianity" which just makes me want to say "WTF?".

People are threatned by Death and want some part of them to live forever and can not imagine that some day they will not exist. Many use religion to transend death and this relieves their fears to some extent. As an atheist when I say I do not believe in their God I am telling them that they and their loved ones will just die and end. I am not worried that there is a hell but they can not afford to doubt the existence of heaven because their life depends on it. Atheist threaten their coping.

I work at a public school as a teacher's aide and in 2004 an administrator forwarded an office mail that told people who did not believe that this is a Christian nation to shut up and sit down since they are a minority. It also told anyone who did not like it to go back to their own country.
I decided to out myself as an Atheist and responded to the omail saing that it was not ok to send in the work place and that as an Athiest this in my country and I will not shut up or sit down.

I was an atheist for 27 years. Yahshua (Jesus) tells you, "You have the law and the prophets". The prophets can show you, unquestionably, that YHVH (God) is real. Once you understand He is real, the law will guide you as to what to do. I believe most atheists have not studied the prophets in earnest. If you have and find it unbelievable, you should just let it go, for the centerpiece of our beliefs told you the prophets were to be proof enough.

People underestimate the fear response people have. Religious folks are genuinely scared of atheist ideas, especially in regards to their kids.

I actually read a lot of books and still do. I just think that right or wrong there's a huge stigma against atheism because the world, like it or not is run by people who believe in a God. I think it's foolish to think you know for a fact either way. I don't know if their is a God and I don't know that their isn't. I think that the bible is a huge book of fairy tales.

Hitler was a devout Christian. He used the bible to justify what he was doing.

Actually there are a lot of parts in the bible where 'God' says he hates certain people, also how he orders his followers to massacre entire populations because they're decedents from people who didn't obey him, and destroying towns and cities because he wants to, hell he drowned every living creature in the world except 2 of each kind, if that's not hatred that's sadistic insanity.

So technically, god hates its own behavior. In Genesis, Adam ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. This made me like god in the psychological sense. If god hates us for behaving evil and thinking evil, doesn't that tell us he hates himself?Because we have the same ability as god does to be aware of evil as stated in the bible. And since god knows evil, don't you think sending non believers to hell is evil, just because they werent convinced he's real.Even though they followed every rule
