Grobschnitt was just another prog band that just happen to be German. That doesn't make them Krautrock. Krautrock has a defined sound. Krautrock pushed way more boundaries and innovated music to a much greater degree. Nobody cites Grobschnitt as a serious influence (nor were they even that good). People will always remember faust, neu!, can etc.

well, faust are fairly unorthodox, much wilder than most other bands classified as such, and guitar styles are not something very common in kraut rock, rather repetititive synths and drum patterns. Neu! and Can are good examples that shaped a lot of music, of course Faust are a lovely band too, as I am here looking at one of their videos, i'm just saying they are a kind of unusual kraut rock band.
