  • gruugchh!

  • hhaha krautrock? rly?

    its just good damn musick!

    thx

  • What's the name of this song? Please!!

  • @rizprocker The song is actually called "krautrock", it's on "Faust IV"

  • Seppi is a musical movement all on his own...

  • @DiggermanNo1 sorry it should be Zappi.

  • 5STAR STUFF!!! NEVER SAW THEM. GLAD U POSTED THIS. LUVVIT!! CHEERS

  • Contemporary masterpiece :)

  • It is with porn as with music. German porn producers took up on American Hardcore porn and made it harder and kinkier. German musicians took up American Psychedelic rock and made it wilder and weirder.

  • @bolibumppa this didn't emerge from american psychelelic rock - this is krautrock, pure and simple. America isn't the birthplace of music. Everywhere spawns its own music. You just don't get to hear of it via the big anglo-US corporate labels.

  • neu! vs my bloody valentine megamix

  • Jean-Hervé (bass player) looks so much like hashbean420

  • MY EYES!! TO MUCH MAN BOOBS AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • FUCKING GREAAAAAAAT

  • This song really should have a seizure warning..

  • He´s nose has the same profile as his stomach. The man´s a bloody SCULPTURE! :)

  • Look At This Fucking Hipster Crowd #latf

  • fuck this is awesome!!!! new fave band maybe...

  • at least.this is some real dirty metal/hard rock music.

  • Very psychedelic .. Loving this !!!

  • I like the way different layers occuring at the same time seem slightly "unrelated", it creates a very awesome psychedelic effect.

  • The beauty of the Art!

  • Could it be James Johnston from Gallon Drunk and BIg Sexy Noise, the guitar player? FUCKING GREAT TUNE. THIS IS TRANCE AS ITS BEST. FUCK DISCO.

  • Amazing....can't believe they're still together...love them

  • does this band really exist?

  • @compote321 does anything really exist?

  • @DrugStabbingTime I was in a moment like with a hudge musical appetite and you feel like you could enjoy anything and so you are thinking and looking for the perfect delicate taste to pour in your ears. and then I just saw I had a comment and it brought me here. and......yeah. yeah.

  • i'm experience such bliss listening to faust!!!! i'm so happy i had the opportunity to see them perform live a couple yrs ago

  • industrial?? this is krautrock? isn't it?? i want to know some krautrock songs, anyone would like to help??

  • Industrial!!!!!

  • lüsterne molche

  • What a breathtaking and beautiful chaos of sounds!!

  • たまらないなぁ

  • I want what they are smoking.

  • love this psychedelic rhythmic noise

  • Ohhh man. Cannot *wait* to see these guys in London in August. It's gonna be unreal O.O :D

  • @TomBandfield Field Day...I'll see you there...I've been waiting 30 years to see these legends...

  • sooooocooool

  • sooooocooool

  • Shame they always find the worst guitarists in the world.

  • Excelent ! Faust, Can, Amon Duul, Ash Ra Tempel, Popol Vuh....just beyond the skies !

  • 15 minutes of crazy, noisy, psychic, freakish, mentally disturbed, completely strange...

but still amazingly rocking and great piece of entertainment.

  • I recently became aware of this genre of music called "Krautrock", and this is the first band I chose to get an idea...It is AMAZING!

  • This is so cool.

  • so....... 15 minutes of one riff???

  • @ImShorry I think you just have to let yourself go with it. The modern World is hyped up,everything in 2 minutes or less. This is about trance and hynosis and other parts of the brain. It's like art,you have to look.

  • @aiueoVVVeiimiiVVVsan - Faust doesn't need any critiquing that this stage. But I'm sure they would have appreciated the musical coaching from you, as I'm sure you're a musical genius who has made vast and profound contributions to the music world.

  • Spacemen 3 :D

  • they should call this "kraprock" Grobschnitt may not be so great, but it beats the hell out of this..

  • what the hell is this ???

  • Beautiful! the build up, the tempo changes, the chaos - love it!!!

  • "water, water, water, water, water". How about get the fucking water your fucking self before you go on stage and spiel bullshit from your ugly mouth.

  • Krautrock = Grobschnitt. This is sh*t

When you playing the wrong note, nobody hears it.

  • @merlijn123 Wow, you clearly know nothing about krautrock. If you think Grobschnitt represents krautrock you are heavily misguided. Grobschnitt was just another prog band that just happen to be German. That doesn't make them Krautrock. Krautrock has a defined sound. Krautrock pushed way more boundaries and innovated music to a much greater degree. Nobody cites Grobschnitt as a serious influence (nor were they even that good). People will always remember faust, neu!, can etc.

  • @merlijn123 well atleast you can hear this band go out of time at the start. ie: that monster freak with the faggot instrument.

  • @aiueoVVVeiimiiVVVsan I saw you talking shit on another faust vid. We get it, you dont like it, now fuck off troll

  • Krautrock = Grobschnitt. This is sh*t

  • Das Bauch buttton ist niedriger als seine Hosen. Helle Fische haben viel Tagesordnung und die Qualität des Tones ist leuchtend.

  • the intensity keep building and building

  • cool, but not really timing monsters.

  • that's ART!

    - Chaise Rouge -

  • brilliant

  • omg... They are older than my grandfather :).

  • My new love...KroutRock!!!!!!

  • of course people knew what krautrock was in the states...

  • @wkburnette

We knew that Kraftwerk was weird.

  • All I've got 2 say is watch them on the BBC krautrock docu. Sweeping brushes and cement mixers. I'll have whatever they are having.

  • So AMAZING. Long live thee almighty drone.

  • Insane. in the context of the live gig i reckon thats proper good trance.

  • Was krautrock even heard of in the states? Hardly cause most people don't know the name it seems like..Of course this is 10 years before my time in the haten it 80s.Anti anything heavy and anti psychedelic. 80sucked! Well except for some of the parties.

  • Great stuff!

  • good!

  • Similar to Can and Neu!, just not as well known. This song is F-in awesome!!

  • Fantastico, real good band.

  • すげえな。。。

    これぞ音楽!!!

  • "...on sound..." :D

  • geiler sound, das rockt ^^

  • i wonder how many people in the crowd are on drugs :P

  • @6stringplaya77 To attend the show....It's MANDATORY!

  • @6stringplaya77 why would they be on drugs?!?!?! you are suppose 2 take drugs not stand on them

  • Strange stuff.

  • YEAH

  • You see, sauerkraut kept Zappi healthy and strong.

  • It's not much to do with how 'good' a musician you are, it's what you make out of what you have. It doesn't have to be correct, it just has to be right. I'd much rather listen to this kind of exploring than some technoflash egowank million-notes-a-second playing, this says far more to me than that ever could.

  • Absolut der Hammer! Mal schauen das ich die Live zu sehen bekomme.

  • I like it

  • This is the third time I've watched this video, and now I'm hearing frogs croaking...

  • fucking epic, i could listen to that groove all day

  • natasha sebastian com

  • Great alternative if you can´t play an instrument, but i actually kinda like the monotomous rythms, you kinda get stone watching it live i could imagine allso with the strobelights. Drunk or stone i could well imagine it works, but have heard better musicians to say the least :P

  • @SkeksisBestSongEver you aren't really a very bright fellow, are you? I mean, you've watched, what, maybe 3 or 4 mins of this and got bored, noticed that it is, indeed, repetitous and "monotomous", decided due to that fact that the musicians can't really play and wrote the whole thing off without another thought.

your mentality is the reason that a huge proportion of this ridiculous, closed-minded society "don't get it"...cos your too lazy man. Thought for the day...substance.

  • @hektorpike Exactly

  • @SkeksisBestSongEver it's not that they can't play an instrument, it's just a different expression, more like drone and noise than rock actually.

  • im a huge lover of Krautrock

but godamn Faust is just irritating

  • band wagon of awesome sweetness just kind of had a tantrum

    Anglo-German friendship FOREVEEERR!

  • this is great

  • Always great !

  • well, faust are fairly unorthodox, much wilder than most other bands classified as such, and guitar styles are not something very common in kraut rock, rather repetititive synths and drum patterns. Neu! and Can are good examples that shaped a lot of music, of course Faust are a lovely band too, as I am here looking at one of their videos, i'm just saying they are a kind of unusual kraut rock band.

  • Most krautrock would seem similar to experimental rock to me, but with german traditional twists.

  • Check out LAIBACH, those are Rammstein roots, though I don't like Rammstein.

  • @bothropsasper Actually, Rammstein were inspired by Laibach.

  • @shadowfax273k I know ;) Cheers!

  • @shadowfax273k:wrong.they inspired by oomph.they say it.but they hate each other.

  • I'm on 10:33 --- astonished

  • The lead singer has no belly button. He's not human!!!

  • @frojo18 it's hidden under the pants

  • @frojo18 He's not human for his nose not for his hidden belly button...!

  • @frojo18 His belly button is below his belt. Alarming, but true...

  • @frojo18 Yeah, HES A SUPERhuman!!/

  • @frojo18 its under his pants

    they're pulled up really highh

  • I live in an apartment block, and the landlord is callled "the worse of sweden". Only good, no one gives a rats arse if you play this loud at midnight."the volume goes to eleven" .

  • Jag vill bo där du bor

  • God bless Faust.

  • Weird, but not bad.

  • i like it

  • Saw them do this in The Amersham, one of the best gigs I've ever seen!!!!!!

  • saw them live some years ago....great band!

Zappi and Jean-Hervé Péron are also lovely persons...,not like those indie rock snobby guys.

  • @riccdrum I'd love to hang out with them on their farm!

  • do they have a farm?cool!

  • no love lost - joy division.

  • Reminds me of the bands here in the States back in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Those were the best years of rock and roll. Great band Faust. Wished I had known about them back then, but I know about them now.

  • @capman911 You're so right.

  • Yeah, Germany! I'm from Germany, but there aren't very many good bands here :(

    But i'm proud for Krautrock!

Please listen to "Ton Steine Scherben"!

  • I saw the BBC Krautrock documentary on freeview the other night and just had to check Faust out after seeing the cement mixer interview. This has won me over.

  • Ditto!

  • sounds fucking awesome....

  • 8:47 love that dance!

  • fucking awesome sounds!!!

  • If you like Krautrock (and by this I mean Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Faust, Harmonia and Cluster) then don't forget BBC Four on Oct 23rd, 2009 (at 9.00pm) and the documentary Krautrock: The Rebirth Of Germany
