I don't understand exactly why you don't need to worry about an aquifer if you have high elevation cliffs? Can someone explain this a bit more in depth?

@brandon0981 Well you see all the height differences in the video. With cliffs like that, there is almost always some exposed rock somewhere. And if you just start your fort there, you've bypassed the aquifer.

The theing with Embarking, abandoning, then reclaiming a site is that you essentially get 2 sets of your embark profile - minus the living things, to work with. So at the start you have 2 anvils as well as double the picks axes barrells etc... some people may find that a tad like an exploit. though I admit to doing the same thing when I accidenally poked a hole in a volcano that flooded a fortress and sent off tantrum typhoon.

Can you stop tantrum spirals by using Burrow definitions to banish the upset dwarfs into a more or less forbidden zone then wall them up? Or send all the happy dwarves into a safe zone to right out the tantrum cyclone.
