I heard there is going to be an everquest 3 which I'm so syced for! I had to quit everquest to play wow cause my game completly broke for no reason and my brother started playing wow instead cause all the servers were so empty but when a new game comes out I will deffinantly switch back

Logged back in last night (Just wiped my HDD, so haven't logged in today) and it was fairly active. There was a chat war going on over PR being solo-able or even 1-groupable. Some think you still need x4 XD

I'm sorry, someone said the graphics, music and gameplay on this is shit, I've played since launch, I still remember when I first started playing it, no one had a PC back then that could run it on max graphics, the music is some of the best there is on a vidya game, and as for the gameplay, refer to my "played since launch" part, P.S, WoW is for kids.

@jackpipsam Gameplay matters most, but graphics are definitely important too. Everything else is a lie. Wind Waker was a great game but looked horrible. Twilight Princess was also a great game, but looked thousands times better. So guess which one is my favourite? If they make EQ Next cel shaded, I will definitely stay with EQ2, because it has a serious design.
@jackpipsam They said it would be more like Everquest than Everquest II. I have never played EQ1 but it doesn't look cartoonish to me. Just a little more colorful.
@Thiefenz I dont know. Rift looks great. Guild Wars 2 seems really awesome as well. And Planet Calypso has really great graphics due to CryEngine. Everquest 2 has some areas which look really nice, but you can still see in many places it's an old game. If they ever get Shader 3 working properly, it will definitely improve a lot. But you can still see it's age. It can be beautiful sometimes though, I cannot say anything else. But in an older way :)
i have played a bunch of mmorpg and always find myself back playing everquest 2 the graphics of the game are just so much better in my opinion i hate playing cartoon looking people. if sony would advertise EQ2 it would be so much better. but still is and will be for a long time (everquest 3) my favorite mmorpg.

EQ2's crafting is better, the questing is better, the classes are better, the races are better, the game isn't so simplistic, npc's have fully voiced dialogue,

The only reason why there are more people back in WoW now is because they want to try cataclysm comes out. After they see how simplified it is, your going to see people leaving that as well. Everquest was so amazing to me because of just the pure adventure and exploration of it. There was nothing better than running in the darkest forests possible not knowing wtf u where gonna run across. Or just going in a dungeon area and fighting through it not knowing whats behind every corner it can be death or treasure. Everquest grasped the true meaning of RPGs and adventure. Now all anyone cares about is getting titles and gear to try and prove they are better. Adventure is dead
@Draelok23 I still play EQ2, though not as much as I did back in the day, when I was in a top raid guild. You're right though, the adventure of it all has died a little bit, all anyone cares about now is power leveling to the end game content. Most, if not all the people I used to game with have stopped playing. SOE just had to do another server merge, because so many servers were basically ghost towns. They need to do some advertising to get new people into the game, like WoW does.

Clearly you've never played WoW past lvl 5 or you were the most horrible player to ever reach max lvl, every class has at least 15 buttons they have to use in order to give an average performance, not only do you have to know when and how to use your abilities, you also have to communicate with your raid team in order to succeed.

this game is very underrated and it wasnt that succesfull simply because it came out about at same time when wow did...i also noticed that wow copied a lot of stuff from everquest it is just much more simple and made more for casul players.. thats why so many people play wow because they just made it simple so its made pretty much for everyone.. if WOW never came out i think EQ2 would be a huge success

@jackpipsam Gameplay matters most, but graphics are definitely important too. Everything else is a lie. Wind Waker was a great game but looked horrible. Twilight Princess was also a great game, but looked thousands times better. So guess which one is my favourite? If they make EQ Next cel shaded, I will definitely stay with EQ2, because it has a serious design.

@Thiefenz I dont know. Rift looks great. Guild Wars 2 seems really awesome as well. And Planet Calypso has really great graphics due to CryEngine. Everquest 2 has some areas which look really nice, but you can still see in many places it's an old game. If they ever get Shader 3 working properly, it will definitely improve a lot. But you can still see it's age. It can be beautiful sometimes though, I cannot say anything else. But in an older way :)

@OhmegadJT I can firmly say after playing WoW for 6 1/2 years that Everquest 2 is superior to WoW in almost every aspect. Especially with the release of World of Warcraft Cataclysm which has made WoW nothing more then a simplistic piece of garbage for children, and seeing that your still in school already tells me you are a kid yourself. EQ2's crafting is better, the questing is better, the classes are better, the races are better, the game isn't so simplistic, npc's have fully voiced dialogue,

Right, you have none. WoW is still greater than EQ and yet to be denied that. If you like fairies and shitty graphics then fine play EQ, but if you like hard-core gameplay with just the right amount of good graphics implemented into a game, then WoW is for you. I started playing the game when the game was still in beta, and most of the people who used to play the original and burning crusade have left the game. Do you know how many things they have removed from in cataclysm? lets see they removed spell ranks, weapon skill, they removed the ability to craft your own poisons if your a rogue, they removed cross talent specialization. The only reason why there are more people back in WoW now is because they want to try cataclysm comes out. After they see how simplified it is, your going to see people leaving that as well. Just like how people started leaving the game 4 months after wrath of the lich king.

im on everquest as of this day and many to come level 90 is by far the best and most fair to all in game that it's ever been period . since level 60 the start of game eq2 has NEVER been better ever than it is now at 90 . game looks better , and with battlegrounds added is always something to do . if your bored or can't get anywere on the game now , then your a lazy ass wonts everything handed to u . could care less what wow players say really im a night elf mohawk get the hell outta here !

Everquest was so amazing to me because of just the pure adventure and exploration of it. There was nothing better than running in the darkest forests possible not knowing wtf u where gonna run across. Or just going in a dungeon area and fighting through it not knowing whats behind every corner it can be death or treasure. Everquest grasped the true meaning of RPGs and adventure. Now all anyone cares about is getting titles and gear to try and prove they are better. Adventure is dead

@Draelok23 I still play EQ2, though not as much as I did back in the day, when I was in a top raid guild. You're right though, the adventure of it all has died a little bit, all anyone cares about now is power leveling to the end game content. Most, if not all the people I used to game with have stopped playing. SOE just had to do another server merge, because so many servers were basically ghost towns. They need to do some advertising to get new people into the game, like WoW does.

@trippleflux This game has more of a story line than WoW does...You forget that Sony released the first MMORPG sense Runescape and UL. The story it so vast that it take you several years to understand what role each faction of the game plays and the new factions they introduce. It has much lore based off the EQ1 which I played for 10 years...your just like the rest and just follow the crowd. Iv played wow and it has no content what so ever. When it comes down to it. They are all about content.

Clearly you've never played WoW past lvl 5 or you were the most horrible player to ever reach max lvl, every class has at least 15 buttons they have to use in order to give an average performance, not only do you have to know when and how to use your abilities, you also have to communicate with your raid team in order to succeed.
and LOL at WoW dying, WoW has 12 millions+ ACTIVE players, because you sucked at WoW doesn't mean WoW sucks and is dead sorry
