these guys can play, but it is stiff, and the drummer although competent is spunking all over the place from beat one.i always liked will lee,but it was to stiff and to white.makes them sound icelandic.
In those days...All these dudes could be found frequenting a jazz club called "7th Ave South"...located...guess where? What a great Damn time for me to be in my prime!!! I will never forget the good times with the boys back in 1980...
What a great clip! This made me smile. I do remember David's radio show, which would come on mid Sunday mornings in my area. I looked forward to his show every Sunday.
What a kick @ss video! These old vintage clips bring back some nice memories of when I was a kid and mom would let me stay up late and watch David Letterman on Friday nights. I'd keep my fingers crossed hoping Sanborn would be sitting in. I didn't catch all these shows but this video is one I missed and such a pleasant surprise. Thank you for taking me back to the the late 80's! Funny how Letterman got his drummer's last name wrong. PLEASE keep posting this vintage Sanborn gems!
Forgetting the drummer's name was a running gag. Dave forgot Anton's name when he replaced Steve Jordan as Paul's drummer, and every night after that Dave would introduce him as "Anton Zip". His real last name of course is Figg.
