  • I'd really like to see don stover pick this one

  • @SpooksHill

He would have done a fine job even though he was a banjo player and not a fiddler; probably did, but I don`t know of any recordings

  • great! This song and Ragtime Annie are my favorites to play and listen to. Thanks for posting from TX.

  • Many thanks! Ours too, along with my all-time favorite, Mississippi Sawyer.

  • Ah, yes, SWMBO!!! God bless 'em!

  • Oh, this is just fabulous! You look like you are having a ball and it sounds like it too!

    (Lovely home, too!)

  • Many thanks; and "She Who Must Be Obeyed" thanks you for the parenthetical comment. She`s the decorator. I`m only responsible for the "old dead folks" hanging on the walls....

It`s remarkable how many "favorites" we have in common. This music really is appreciated around the world.

We (The "Side Hill Badgers String Band") will be competing in a contest in October; hope to post a video or two.

  • Awesome, very good, 5 + and favs.

  • Many thanks!

  • Really great playing here, reminds me of the Burnett and Rutherford version

  • High praise indeed! Many thahks.

  • "Thahks"? Hmmm....I must pay closer attention...

  • Great Music

  • I'm not sure which is better: the excellent playing or the rather nice drawing room.

    Excellent!

  • Thanks on both counts. It was great having "Achnamara" about for a few days!

  • Whoooaaa....nice jam, mister! I wish i could be there and jigging..

  • Great video, great playing!

  • you've done a good version of this song, my favorate is the first version ever recorded by Fiddlin' John Carson, I think it was recorded in 1923

  • Thanks. It`s an honor to be mentioned in the same sentence as Carson.

  • wishuey, you should check out some of the irish bands on toutube like de dannan, sharron shannon, planxty and see where it leads you!! Great music really top class!! Regards

    peter from ireland!

    Cheers,

    Pete from Ellicott City, Maryland

  • Thanks Davide. We had a good time that evening; managed to get ten or eleven tunes uploaded.

By the way, I heard from another banjo player in Italy. Have a look at "Charliejazz". Maybe he`s a neighbor.

    Cheers,

    Pete

  • Thanks Banjoville. All credit to Bill Schmidt the fiddler on this one.

  • High praise indeed being mentioned in the same sentence as those two. Thanks!

  • The best recording of this is, of course, Bernett and Rutherford! But hot damn you guys are great!

  • As soon as I woke up this morning, just when you were counting sheep(Oh yes, we are hard at it when you are asleep, I turned on my computer and the first thing I heard was your music. I knew instantly that it was going to be a good day. What a way to start the week.

  • Thanks Em.C.

We had a grand old time recording that batch the other night.
