  • I'd be into this if the fighting rules were similar to the rules in Role Models.

  • This seems like it would be alot of fun but i dont know if i could take it seriously

  • @SuperGameangel don't try to take it serious, just have fun! :)

  • Love the Fable 1 music.

  • It looks quite fun, but almost everyone who is currently doing it seems so incredibly annoying. I think the only appeal for me, because of that fact, is to actually be able to batter them with an axe!

  • This sounds so damn awesome. I've always wanted to try it o:

  • I so wanna do this, problem is nobody does it where i live

  • Loving the WoW Music! :D

  • I'd love to do this! I'm getting a sword at the Rennasaince Festival that comes next month!

  • I can understand the whole roleplay thing, it could be quite interesting, certainly a fun form of improvisational acting. What I find strange is the whole focus on 'battle'. It's an aspect which I think taints something that could otherwise be more broadly accepted. Why all pretend you're some medieval soldiers, characters from a Tokien book or Blizzard game, then play-stab each other with plastic swords all day? Why not something a little different, a little more unique?

  • lol i loved the two knights playing on their laptops

  • if i had most the movement in my legs i would give this a try for sure

  • I'll admit it looks a little silly at first but I bet I'd enjoy it if I tried. I do WW2 reenactment as hobby. Massive private Larp-style event coming up in April with 200+ Allied and Germans firing blanks at each other over a weekend. I guess thats the closest thing to modern larp.

  • @Trialbystone17 I used to do American Civil War reenacting years ago, and I think this looks a bit silly too. I remember the weekends our company spent studying infantry tactics, manual-of-arms and drilling. Now if these folks where to spend some energy in tactics, forming shield-walls and phalanxes, etc, instead of wildly flailing around I think they would seem a little less silly, and be more respected.

  • @MrPloppy1 Yeah totally agree. I guess it could be said that these folks are people who would love viking/med-evil reenactment but have gotten a little lost along the way.

  • @MrPloppy1 I've been to a few of these events, and there are reasonably good tactics; people form shield walls and phalanxes all the time. The front line of the Wolves faction, for example, is very intimidating. These aren't reenactments, though, so it doesn't have to be historically accurate, nor perfectly drilled. We don't care about being respected - we're there to have a hell of a lot of fun.

  • @MrPloppy1 Oh, and the flailing around comes from the fact you're not allowed to thrust with these weapons, so you have limited methods of attack.

  • FOR ALL THOSE WHO ARE BEGINNERS TO LARP

first of all, for getting started youll need those big ass foam sheets that conect together. youll need a razor pen and a heat gun as well as a sharpie. draw out a basic template for the arms, shins, chest, and shoulders. dont worry about helms just yet, there a little bit harder to make. cut them out and use a heat gun to mold it onto your body. weapons wise, you can buy pfc foam swords and spear heads on ebay or any surplus store.

  • im only on the pc cause i broke my ankle at IMP (inflict maximum pain) A larpo place where we use wooden weapons and beat the cvrap out of eachother

  • I don't think I could go for the skills and magic and....hitpoints :/ but the medieval battle reenactments would be awwwwwwsome.

  • 4:58, nice fable music

  • where is this?

  • Honestly, I thought larping was foolish until I've seen all these videos and educating myself. Personally, I think it would be fun to try out, but I wouldn't make it a habit of mine. lol But good for the people who do make it a habit! They're going out, socializing, exercising, expressing themselves, and having fun! Plus, who WOULDN'T want to escape who they are and pretend to be someone else for at least a day?? lol

  • Paintball, airsoft... Awesome.

    Dungeons and Dragons... Cool.

    Historical reenactments... Kick ass.

    LARPing... Faggotry.

  • @Vovk3 But it's just a mix of the three. That's basically liking the bread, cheese, and butter, but decrying the sandwich. Loosen up.

  • @Vovk3 please, elaborate.

  • larping for 13 yr olds does that exist in hampshire (britain) ??????

  • I have got to say i was cringing the entire way through this video. But hey whatever floats yah boat.

  • Comment removed

  • Seriously, sitting at your pc grinding for days on WAR or WOW doesnt EVER come close to being as much fun as putting on a homemade set of armour and having a massive ruck in a field with 600+ other people, anyone who thinks that MMORPG's are more fun than LARP have never been to LARP, end of.

  • @georgedisorder

That's historical reenactment. This is LARPing. There is a big difference between the two. LARPing is the gay one out of the two.

  • @Vovk3 yes larp is gay but in the true meaning of gay .it is a happy thing to do

  • @Vovk3 The fact that you are insulting something with a term for a different sexual orientation just goes to show how biased you are agianst anything outside your comfort box. Go home kiddie.

  • @Vovk3 Nope, its the LARP I go to, nothing historical about it. You underestimate the size of the movement bro =)

  • for the record these events (4 per year: Spring moot, Great Erdrejan Fayre/GEF, Summer moot and the Gathering) are held in Locko Park which is in Spondon, Nottingham, England

  • I love the Prince Bishops men mainly because they are ballsy enough to wear a target on their chest

  • Very interesting stuff.

  • damn these fools must get a lot of action. how did i get here from family guy...?

  • who heard the fable music?

  • Does anybody know where this took place?

  • What i find funny is how people who make fun of people who get out, get exercise, get creative, socialize, and do some acting, will turn around and sit on their butts, eat greasy popcorn, sit in the dark and say nothing to the people around them, watching people on screen acting. What's the difference between acting and larping? no script, and we don't get paid.

  • @LMMEjsmith

Very true. While I can't see myself being a LARPer, it's certainly fascinating to understand why people do it and what they have to say. Objectively, I'd say it's no less valid a hobby, exercise, or sport than any mainstream alternative.

  • i agree but i sortof do both (im an airsofter)

  • @LMMEjsmith

don't worry mate, its the haters that bring us closer together! larp is a safe haven for those who decide to go unorthodox and let go of what people think of them! and that's what i think makes it 100 times more beautiful!

  • @LMMEjsmith You're still a dork.

  • @LMMEjsmith the difference is you're a bunch of faggot ass goofs who make swords outa of fucking toilet paper rolls and scream "LIGHTNING BOLT!!!" while throwing acorns at some retard dressed up as a gremlin or some next shit

  • @daveshow58 Troll spotted. Now avoiding.

  • @LMMEjsmith Or even better, those who mock are the ones who go to bars and get drunk and have no idea what they did the night before. Like my co-workers. And I'm the weird one???? Oh brother!!!

  • @LMMEjsmith I would love to larp but i lack the group to do it with....also does anyone know if larp has to be medeval? I would love a modern larp kinda like the game rifts but in real life...

  • @TheSlovo28 i've heard of some Sci-Fi ones, i think. From what i understand the World of Darkness games are usually modern day, but really political. I also lack a group, but my personal interests lean more toward anachronistic combat (boffing) and table RPGs. I'll try some online role play from time to time if i find a good group.

  • @LMMEjsmith Well LARPing does look fun. heck I might get into it if I find some people in Arizona.

  • LARPing, now with REAL weapons!!! hahaha imagine! XD

  • To all of those who believe Larping to be lame...WHY THE FUCK DID YOU CLICK ONTO A VIDEO NAMED LARPING?!?!?!?!

  • @Actionbcool so i could laugh my fucking ass off.

  • Err....the guy who makes the weapons fights like a complete faggot. No talent.

  • larping always seems like an intense build up to an epic bloody battle leading to a cushionfight

my LARPing character is exelsior the rapist........i dont take part in combat, i just rape people in the forest

  • @greatestgod HAHAA OMFG this made me laugh holy shit hahahaha

  • lol 4:56...i hear Fable music!!

  • if anything, You really get to be yourself when you roleplay like this.

it gives you a chance to relax and create yourself as you want to be, and not the person society expects you to be. You can be an obnoxious ogre, or a graceful elf. You can battle and test yourself and your skills in combat, instead of always questioning your self worth behind a cash register at walmart.

I really want to go to one of these gatherings, and test myself among these guys!

  • brilliant video, where abouts was this larp done?, it would be a good experiance to go there :)

  • @MrWolfification This it the Lorien Trust, and the big events are held in Locko Park in Spondon. Google them-the website is a really good source of information. And I would recommend going-it's GREAT fun xD

  • @FinlandiaWhiteEyes ahh right, i will have a good look, thank you very much :)

  • Well I'm a Video Gamer so... yah

  • I can guarantee there'd be a few geeks with broken noses if I played this. I'm too aggressive for this shit.

  • Hello! I am an experianced LARPer from Sweden. And I would like to give a tip for anyone who decides to play a werewolf/wolven in the future. I highly recommend that you fill any visable skin with makeup. Like he had the eyes. He should've used make-up there for a much more realistic effects. But, of course it might be different in England but in Sweden we focus much at Realism. :P

  • I would LOOOOOOVE to LARP. I just need a few questions answered

    1.) Age requirements??

    2.) Any in California??

    3.) Cheap or expensive??

    4.) How does it work???

  • @DrummerMan059 1) No age requirements, just not too young.

    2) No idea, from holland myself.

    3) Bleeding expensive, but it's quite worth it. You could always make it yourself, or some stuff atleast.

    4) Well, see it as playing in a theatrical play, you have a role, a character. And you play by that character, act like that character, fight as that character. Or not fight, depends on who you are. The main goal is ofcourse fun, but questing, or character development is also a big goal in LARP.

  • @TheArrowsPath thx :)

  • This looks really fun and I would love to try it sometime. My only problem with it is it seems like these guys have absolutlyey no combat experience at all.

  • @FreeRunner766 Oh yeah and you have a shit ton of experience fighting real life battles with a sword. I'm sure you jumped into afghan with your sword swinging. No shit they don't have real combat experience with a sword.

  • Get an airsoft gun and stop playing around

  • @PSOICA get a real gun and stop playing around ;)

  • @maulhunter Cant shot my friends with an AR-15

  • and not a single fuck was given that day.

  • Fable music at 4:58

  • I live in Stratford NY is there anywhere near i could go to larp?

Can u make kicks to the legs? is it legal?

and how do you pick your team when u make your character?

    Please Respond!!

  • I wish I could do something like this at least once, seems really fun and healthy as well (exercise, socializing etc)

  • @icecreamcancer yea i want to do one too

  • @icecreamcancer Why can't you?

  • @feralpedobear there isn't much in the way of larping around Glasgow that I can easily get to (no car) plus I don't have much money to invest in a good costume and weapons

  • @icecreamcancer That's sad, though it's not that expensive as you may think. 90% of larping costumes and weapons can be made at home with little to no experience. We have alot of LARPing over here in Denmark, i guess it's not as popular were you live though :(

  • @icecreamcancer ya socializing with a whole bunch of creeps that sounds fun yayayayayayayayayayayayayayayaya

  • @icecreamcancer Actually for me it has proven very healthy, in a few months of larping I took about a minuet of my mile time.

  • i want to larp i live in kelowna bc and need someone to play with pliz help !!

  • @reviewsforgods i live in kelowna BC as well and looking myself! i think there is a group here not sure what there called though

  • @Nazgul1991666 ye me 2 :/

  • @reviewsforgods i live in kelowna too! I WANNA LARP!!!!!!!!!!

  • @liara17 yep

  • WoW over LARP? ive never done one of these official "LARPs" but if i ever got the chance to do it every week i would kick WoW down the stairs!!!

  • @musicmakerlover I can respect that, let me recant my statement. If you enjoy it and its not hurting anyone then its a beautiful thing. I guess we CAN spend our energy doing better things then judging each other.

  • These are guys who have accepted the fact that they may never see a vagina in real life.

  • if you live in ohio and want to larp got keyesjohn54.webnode.com

  • Don't fear the larper LOL

  • how the health works? O:

  • FABLE MUSIC (i know its been posted)

  • this looks fun but theres no larping (as far as i know) in my area :(

  • This actually looks like cool fun

  • I play loads of LARP and I am not even nerdy i just go for the thrill of action just like paint balling and most of the people i have met there don't do all that Shakespeare talk. Dont get me wrong though i really respect all those people who put loads of effort into LARPING but please all you haters we don't diss your activities so please dont diss ours.

    thumbs up for larping :D

  • Which LARP system is this?

  • Someone DID try to mug the Avatar of justice.... They died.

    Hahaha.

  • since when was hitting eachother with toy weapons NOT fun...

  • When the CG video comes on. Its the fable track.

  • Here's my most memorable larp story.

I was at middle school watching "bridge to terabithia" in class, and a group of the really sporty kids said "that's so gay." Then we invited them into our recess larp group and they asked to come to my house and larp over the summer XD

  • FABLE MUSIC!

  • yes, and if i had a larping group/people how are like minded I'll do it, but ya know its kinda hard for six, seven people to do it.

  • anyone else notice the creation paper is like oblivion's?

  • never tried larping because no one where i am will even give it a thought

  • anyone that has ever played WoW online is doing exactly the same thing as these nerds. except these guys have the guts to do it in person, on a field with spectators, in cheesy costumes.

  • we make sure they don't kill each other... in broad daylight.

  • lol they are playing fable 1 music

  • lol the dude at 2:46 is epic

  • fags

  • Larp'd the other day.

    got laid.

  • @stumphumper I LOVE U MAN NO HOMO

  • @stumphumper iv been laid IC and OOC ;P larp on mate

  • @stumphumper Hooah!

  • @stumphumper Pics or it didn't happen.

  • Hey guys I'm looking for a level 14 Orc Warrior Shaman with paladin healing spells and the tome of ressurection. He also needs to have D4 armor save, wield the Axe of Twain and wear the Armor of the Six Kings............LMAO

  • Does anyone know where i can go to Join a Larping team?

  • @bigshotgunful google it mate

  • @ThunderMuffn

    LARPING isn't a sport.

    PAINTBALL is.

    Get your facts right.

  • i larp airsoft and paintball i think that this is a little to far

  • @TheGuillotine haha im 15 to, im gonna do this aswell, but then i will do it asap. i was also thinking about a archer, but the reload doesnt go fast, so i gonna start as a paladin i think, with a shield, so i cant die :D (ofc i can die, but less chance to die ;) )

  • Honestly, im 15 and this looks pretty chill, I might do this when im older, If i did it now sadly id be ridiculed -_- But, until that day, I will dream lol, I likethe look of an archer >:3

  • Nice Fable music added in! :D

Makes me want to try it out a lot more!

  • larpers are people who haven't lost their fantasy, who have still remained a little bit child at heart, who didn't dry up completely like old, grumpy nuts. Larp might be a little bit weird, but I love it! Its not all about fighting, its about playing, its about setting a character in a mysterious and eerie world and roleplay! Whatever you might say, I think larp is FANTASTIC! :D

  • what tuns me of of LARP is how absolutly rediculous it looks, and by extension, how absoulutly rediculous i would look, running around a field, flailing around a foam weapon with no formal training or finesse to speak of.

it's not the fact that they are roleplaing a fantasy character, it's the fact that they don't know how to fight, and they look hilarous when they try.

  • @Treifla You would be surprised. I don't personally LARP, I cosplay, but I've got a friend who LARPs and she is a self trained kendo champ.

  • @Treifla Well, they have to fight that way you know. It isn't allowed to stab with a larp weapon, 'cuz the core can come out, and people should make wide swings. Its just how they fight during a larp :P

Oh, and if EVERYBODY is running around in silly costumes, with silly weapons, having loads of fun, you don't look rediculous, believe me. You'll look rediculous in normal clothing and without a weapon during a larp! Its all about being together and roleplay. Fighting plays a minor role actually!

  • @bellaKohler You're right - amongst all the costumes etc we did look like dicks in our normal clothes wielding a huge camera & Boom mic + Mixer =P I'm not a Larper and neither are any of the crew who made this doc, but is was a great atmosphere there, everyone was having a great time and were really friendly and accommodating to us

  • @Treifla You would be surprised. Have you seen LARP fighters? Some of them really know how to fight! And they mentor people as well, so the number of people who can really fight well in LARP is growing rapidly :D

  • niggers!!!!!!!!!

  • @waxxyy1 RACIST CUNT THAT VIDEO WASNT EVEN YOURS FAGGOT

  • These guys are hardass's

  • Check out out Larp videos for an insight into uk Larp :)

    Larpitup

  • Lol I dont like how people try to call larpers virgins. When A) Its none of their business. And B) It has nothing to do with Larping. I didnt start until a couple weeks ago, I dont exactly larp I boff, but its all roughly the same. Im in shape, I have a smokin fine girlfriend, I play guitar, I skate, and I paint. All Im saying is you need to look beyond the character they are portraying.

  • @MaZiPaN3000 oh i wish i could do it too Q^Q i wanna go fight...of course... i dont wanna do the fight as in:

example: "CHARGE!!" *walks down hill towards other faction slowly* "ATTACK!!" *taps guy from other faction on the shoulder with toy sword* I WANNA DO: "CHARGE!!" *runs towards other fations readying weapon* "ATTACK!!" *slash at side with foam sword that actuarlly looks like a sword* (of course... i think that requires armor cause it'll hurt more but hey No Pain. No gain. or game. lmao.

  • @xXTabithaa Yeah, i want to larp, but as long as everyone has good costumes and they're really into it, otherwise you might as well just play WoW.

  • If you guys find this interesting you should see the LARPing documentary/mockumantary I made. It's called Foam Wars, and it's about LARPers ad the people whom LARP. Check it out on my channel!

  • If they enjoy doing it and they dont hurt anyone its fine by me

  • Anyone enjoying this would truly appreciate a new TV show in the works... Dig it! #WorldOfLARP - . net

  • I play Wow and I always will till im 18 then I will also start Larping..why can't i now...stupid rules

  • l would love to fight these guys sword and board, if they think hes good. and ive only been in the SCA for about 8 months!

  • How many other people thought those accents were part of the character at first?

  • 2:46 laughing my mother fucking ass of omg! hahahaha

  • "These guys are a bunch of gay nerdy virgins."

    Translated:

"I'm gonna laugh at you for 5 years and then work for you at minimum wage for the rest of my life."

    Fucking idiots. I love Larping.

  • @guitarhero887 so whacking eachother with foam swords equals great fortune and sucess?

and you say other people are fucking idiots.

  • @guitarhero887 Larping is pretty lame though. OH no! Im going to work for you for minimum wage because I dislike larping.

  • @newrez do you like sports? do you play sports? do you pay money to watch sports?

  • @guitarhero887 you know i find it funny when you guys are called virgins....... there are more than one kind of woman out there. what i mean is see females larp as well, and some very attractive ones im sure you "nerdy virgins" get with them..... jsut saying just because your not attracting megan fox type women doesnt mean your not having sex. wtv jsut enjoy doing what your doing, enjoy life, not many of us do and its sad.

  • Do more choreography than random stuff and would be better, seems like a lot of shield hitting and sword bashing..... get the stuff choreographed and you could put on exhibitions and such. I got a sword and it takes a fair bit of arm to swing it for 15 minutes, the hardest thing is stopping the stroke if you dont bounce off something, good luck to all in your endeavours.

  • Can i larp when im like umm 13 and where?

  • OMG!! LARPnecks on youtube is funny as hell!! Rednecks that LARP??!!!

  • Larp is only cool in bed with a girl

  • I love this

  • This only falls subject to insult because it is an extention of fantasy games in the real world and following all the history and character is all too serious with the people who LARP, so it's funny to see people take it so seriously. People that play paintball don't think they're gods or important people. They think they're good ass paintball players, period, but I am open minded and think this is pretty fun =p I don't play but I'd like to, yet... on a less serious level...

  • @broadcastmyself07 you want to try Dagorhir, more battle less LARP

  • This is VERY creative fuck all who insult it D:<

  • @Cory6171, Dude.. you must realise that if your going to bitch about Larp to Larpers its gunna become presently obvious that your over compensating for your own insecurities about not having any friends and no awsome hobbies of your own. your clearly interested in it, and simply want attention or why else would you have bothered to comment. well you got it, but nobodies buying that weak high horse routine so either sign up or find stupider people to project your insecurities at.

  • Gah, You kind of want to get starting- as they are saying many people tend to RP in games instead (Such as me). But I wouldnt know where to get started, I only know one guy who LARPed when he was really young. So basicly I have no friends who're doing it, dont have any experience of making costumes and I live in Sweden- not sure if alot of LARPing is going on here.

  • For all you idiots saying " O this is good excercise! or O this is good to keep social!" shut the fuck up, instead of using this for ""excercise" why not just go outside or in a gym and exercise. Stop trying to justify it and make it seem normal for 30-50 year old men to run around the woods in elf and fairy costumes and pretend to shoot magic at each other. I understand its sociable, but lets be honest, its time to lose the costumes and foam swords and grow up

  • @Cory6171 Aslong as they like it what does it matter?

  • @Cory6171 Wow. Way to hate on a legit hobby for no reason.

Let's be honest, It's time to lose the attitude and quit bashing people having fun.

We don't do it to please you, we do it because we enjoy it. So I'll keep my sword and I'll "Art" an "Thou" and "Forsoothe" 'till the cows come home.

  • @Cory6171 So what? It's fun! Fun >>>>>>>> boring gym sh*t.

  • @Cory6171 hey man larping is cool im a big fan of middle earth and middle ages.so to bring them back would be amayzing.i only wish that 13 year olds could play and that it was in irlend

  • When Zombies take over, these guys are gonna own. lol

  • the point at 5_00 the music is fabel and so is 5_40

  • do you have to have a clan or team what ever or can you just go and join ??

  • you could call Paintball and airsoft LARP but lets be real here. there Aint no girl in the world who would look at one of these people and think "mmmmm i wanna suck his DICK" cant compare a World of warcraft looking outfit to a Military outfit. Girls like uniforms, but costumes... thats a fast way to dry up a vagina.

  • @SaveSome4Me Are you really that narrow minded?

  • @SaveSome4Me Meh. There's a scene for everything these days.

I play video games and watch cartoons shit and once actually met a pretty cute chick that I simply was not dorky enough for. That's an odd space to be put in.

To the general populace though? I agree with you 100% Your average woman is having none of this shit.

If it were real and you literally killed a dragon for some woman, okay; you're probably in there. If you're just prancing through the woods though....

  • @tokokuken This made me lol

My Girl is fairly dorky, but I know what you mean. XD

  • @SaveSome4Me man larping isnt to get chicks to fuck you its so you can prove your worthy in any battle with a sword.military my ass lets give you 2 rounds of amo and a hand gun and give any of these guys a sword and put yous in a room full of zombies its obvius who will come out alive

  • this is basicly the medevil eqvilent to airsoft becasue sword anfd shield are what we used to use where as we use rifles and ar's now

  • This looks amazing @w@ Im 16 now and used to roleplay like this all the time as a kid, I miss it D: I think after i've gotten out of college and uni, i'll have to look out for a LARPing group near me <3 I think i'd enjoy it a ton :D Seems like my sort of thing ^-^

  • someone DID try to mug the avatar of justice...yea...they died ;P

  • You do know know the military LARPS right? they just use guns and camo
