@Remorseful nope...you can enjoy everything from original webOS when preware is installed. You can even update yr OS and compatible patches from preware will still work without reinstalling them!

I'm using windows 7.. Tried downloading java but don't know if it fully installed. When I double click webOS quick install file my laptop keeps asking me choose a program to open file n I try searching for java but can't find it. Sorry not that good with programs. Jus wanted my to faster.

@2padilla2 u have to install java..once its installed double click on quick install file if ever windows asks you to choose program..choose file location C drive-windows-system-java.exe or in the list look for Java(TM) platform SE binary..if ever this doesn't work I am not sure what else to do...however let me know if i find something else i'll post it here

@2pdilla2 are you using windows or mac? In either way you need java installed on your computer...that should do it..to open that file just double click it.

So, I installed everything and it's working, however, when I try to change my profile from palm default to ondemandtcl, it stays at palm defualt. When I go into advanced settings and manually set the max freq. to 1.5 ghz, the highest that shows in the list is 1.188.... what am I doing wrong?

@kencol86 I dont think so. virus is problem only when there is antivirus! As far as I know there is no antivirus for TP ;-)

@muhsingullu with normal use i'll not much of a difference. I didn't notice drastic change. however, battery usage totally depends on kind of functions you have on TP like games, movies or browsing etc.

@muhsingullu Android on TP is not stable yet and wifi is not working on android TP so far. there is no use of tablet with android without internet. Also, I haven't installed android on TP yet so I dont know about it. But I guess this is kernel patch so it should overclock to 1.5GHz. on other side, you will also need governor like Govnah to control overclocking...so I am not sure if it will work or not.

@sofaking815 install java in your computer(google download java) locate the file on yr HD. hold shift+right click. open with-Java(TM) platform. that will solve the problem.

@bsguieb5 did you restart? try uninstall uberkernel-restart-check app cagtalog or check for update for app catalog by going to settings-software manager-(if update is available) update (bottom center). Also try preware-package updates-update all(bottom center).

@awells1258 1.5ghz OC is done by uberkernal and its safest...However if you are tech savvy and like to try things then go for f15c i also have video for that. F15c is not that safe though.

@rofl729 goto preware,in preware first thing u see is package updates.tap on it n update it all. If package update is grayed out means U've everything upto date. Now goto govnah n tap on profile-change profile to ondemantcl1512 instead of palm default,u can also goto advanced settings-cpu frequency-governor-change it to ondemand-apply settings(after changing,notice under frequency selection max freq is changed to 1.5Ghz) or change max freq to 1.5GHz. if u like check my video on 1.9GHz OC

@BlowinUPinMIA My answer would be leave on govnah because when you want to turn it off or change settings like bring clocking to normal 1.2GHz(palm default profile) is quick n easy. Second when I tested performance while keeping govnah close(set to ondemand profile). CPU process chart does not show processor running at overclock speed. Also performance is not that great. So i think when you close govnah it doesn't work...however I may be wrong lets see what others have to say or you can try it!

Your video neglected to use Govnah to set the correct speed profile OnDemandTCL 1512. The clock of the Palm Default profile is 1.188 and the clock remains at this setting for UberKernel until you change Profile to the 1512 setting above. For those concerned about damage, 1.512 GHz is the setting HP uses for the 64GB Touchpad which uses the identical processor as the 16GB and 32GB versions. Therefore there should be little impact on heat or battery life.

@HispanicCracker did you figure it out? When you plug in the USB cord to your touchpad it will ask if you want it in USB mode, ignore it or click on cancel. Then it should install just fine.

For those who are having trouble installing, don't put the Touchpad on USB Drive mode. Plug in the Touchpad and press cancel on the touchpad. It should still recognize the touchpad. Then try the install again. Should work.

I'll say about 10-20%...It too soon to say as I am still checking on battery hours during day..as we know it also depends on usage....so far I haven't seen huge drastic decrease however I am not using tablet that much... I will post an update as I experience it!! (there is an option to set overclocking "on demand" go into uber app and try it.)

@shuaibkazi I guess 10 minutes most...if on windows right click on jar file and run it as admin..also make sure your OS in touchpad is updated...make sure java is updated in your computer and phone...

@gwalia4 Option 1: WebOSQuickInstall-4.2.3.jar in you computer...there is a list of apps, themes, system hacks..Problem as of today almost everything is for webOS phone

Option 2: Preware app on your tablet.....there is a list of apps..Problem same everything is for webOS phone

Option 3: search for .IPK files and follow my video(check link in description) to install it..cons: limited apps for tablet

Option 4: download apps from HP's best catalog..Best Option!!! lol

I tried this on my Veer, my touchpad should be here in the next few days. However I can't get Preware to finish installing. Just sits there spinning for 30 minutes before i gave up. Will this not work on the Veer? Any thoughts?
