Herbie goes bananas has got to rank as one of the all time greats..The performances are wonderful...Both dramatic and comedic...Herbies performance in particular is a total stand out...How an oscar nomonation was overlooked is absolutely beyond me.....

Is the reason why this movie is called "Herbie Goes Bananas" because, Herbie was crazy in his car mind to be friends with a young thief kid when on the other Herbie movies, Herbie battled other bad guys and thieves protecting his owners? (On "The Love Bug" he battled David Thorndyke and Havershaw, on "Herbie Rides Again" he battled Alonzo Hawk, and on "Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo" he battled Max and Quincey. Luckily at the end of this film he battled Mr. Shepard, Mr. Prindle, and Mr. Quinn).

I agree with "GuitarHerosweet". This movie is great unlike the following one. Plus, Paco is really nice and kind-hearted, unlike that brat Maggie Peyton.

Back to "Bananas", I love to see Herbie coming back to life and Paco helping him.

Paco's ride on Herbie as if he was driving it is really nice. This songs would suit the scene very well too, but the song "I found a new friend" is so sweet and charming.

Maybe the reason they used different music on this film because, this film is either filmed in Rio De Janeiro, or Spain, or Mexico City and they probably wanted to use foreign music in this film while "The Love Bug", and "Herbie Rides Again" were filmed in America. However, "Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo" was probably filmed in a foreign place but, there wasn't too much foreign things going around in that film.

Thank you. The reason I thought this film was filmed in either Rio De Janeiro, Spain, or Mexico City was because, in the end credits it said "the directors and producers would like to thank the people of Rio De Janeiro, Spain, and Mexico City." So I just thought this film was filmed in one of those three places. (I do remember in the middle of this movie that Captain Blythe said "are we still in Panama" but somehow I thought the rest of this movie was filmed in one of those three places).

I agree that this is a great Herbie movie but, I didn't know that there was 6 Herbie movies. I thought that there was only five which were "The Love Bug", "Herbie Rides Again", "Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo", "Herbie Goes Bananas", and "Herbie Fully Loaded."
