  • Hmm, I have a small DVD player and an NES that doesn't work no matter what I do to fix it... On goes the light bulb above my head!

  • Kung Pow is one of the greatest movie ever made!!!

Chicken go cluck cluck, cow go moo.

  • If I ever get a broken NES, I'm doing something like this to it.

  • thats awesome lol

  • Turn a Wii into a Blu-Ray Player.

  • ooohhhh kung pow, i love it!!!!

  • hmmm i try with pegasus

  • I like the sound your camera makes when it zooms.

    :)

  • Toatlly want one :p

  • Love the mod, love the movie (it's actually my all-time favorite), and love the Gundam figure.

  • I wish you could give me that one but, in HDMI! Awesome!!!

  • wow thath is cool

  • greatest movie ever great anime and a great job way to save an nes

  • greatest movie ever!!! great job

  • AWESOME!!!

  • fuken sick that shit is bad ass if u any idea on how i can use my xbox 360 case to do sum cool shit like that let me know

  • KUNG POW ROX!

  • LOL you should make more of them and sell them! :)

  • if only there was a nes with dvd capabilities 20 years ago! i forgot a detail... when i was a kid dvd didn't existed yet! there were f***king VHS, man, i hated those things

  • pretty cool

  • The Nes sucks so badly i dont blame you for making a dvd player out of it am i suprised no this isnt something new

  • Do you have like a telescope lense?? Sounds really clunky when you zoom

  • @smallsam52 Ya, used my mothers bulky canon to video this. This was before i had a camcorder/camera so I literally had no choice.

  • what about this is instead make it so it can play NES and DVD's than I won't have to switch from my NES to DVD player it would be a a super tight fit but I bet someone can do it.

  • Kung Pow lol!

  • That is badass

  • Hey! You are sooo good!

  • make a selection, I COMMAND YOU!

    I luv evil Betty, hehe

  • i would give you $50 for that thing!!

  • NES abuse :O

  • ok now do blu-ray players

  • so u put dvd player in a ''nes box''

watch me put a sega in a'' xbox 360 box''...

  • Did you just open the NES up, take out the the whole thing, and replace it with circuits of a DVD player?

  • Ya, pretty much just took out the NES components and installed the DVD player inside the NES's plastic enclosure.

  • @Rikitheshadow That is freaking awesome!!!

  • It's like the early panasonic q!

  • Even though I've seen this done like 50 times it's still hella boss!

  • that was stupid in me country a nes is very expensive for colector people a nes cost 200$ usd

  • wow.....lol. I got mine for like $15 in pretty good condition. Although now they can go for like $50 in working condition....just got to find the right deal on Ebay.

  • well u are so looky and u are fron unided stated in costarrica many people are salling for colectorperson in 150$ usd

  • @iorelk RIP OFF O COULD GET A NEW NES FOR AROUND 10BUCKS

  • @iorelk what country is that?

  • the only thing i missed is the controller turned into a remote controll for the dvd player :D

    great!!!!

  • ah kung pow I havent seen it in awhile

  • lol. description : "After a few tries and burning myself with a Soldering Iron..." lol. i hope your ok, though.

  • Ya, for some reason I decided to switch it around in my hand like a pencil, and burnt the top of my finger between my nail and joint. Lol fun times.....luckly it was the side of the iron...not the tip.

  • The worst video camera i ever heard... it make sounds when you Zoom...

  • thats pimp man. lamo!

  • That's pretty feckin' cool!

  • dis idea is fu** AWESOME!!!

  • That rules!!

  • Holy crap that cool!! When you finish this you should write Nintendo Power magazine. They have a section of the magazine were they show cool mods like this from people and interview them.

  • Why didnt you just use the NES controller as your controls?

  • I like this....unique----Did you need to spring the door?

  • Actually no, the dvd tray does not push it up far enough to lock in place, so its natural weight along with the clips that hold the door in place closes by itself

  • WTF! OMG! I ME WANT!!!

  • freaking awsome

  • im sorry but this is just awesome

  • smart idea!!!

i should do that to one of my two NES's

  • is this fake or real?

  • its real

  • wow cool!!! 5*****

  • Is there a website that shows people how to do this? I

  • Not really, most sites or peoples web pages may have instructions but most of them are just showing what they did and the progression of the project. You could browse for some mod sites and ask some questions. Not a lot of re-wiring to do, just mainly a lot of dremel tool usage and mods to the case to fit it inside. No mods to original parts really.

  • lol Kung Pow!

  • can you use a remote with it??

  • god i wish i had one of those

  • Funny, but I would rather have kept the NES or at least mod it to a Media-Center.. That would have been way cooler... ;o)

  • what if the nes's MoBo snapped in half?

  • big deal!! I'd rather keep the Nintendo in playable shape!!!!! your camera sucks by the way! to noisy!!!

  • cool

  • Great project. Fucking cool

  • dude thats awesome! xD

  • Comment removed

  • No offense dude, but read above and in the video. I am going to do that when I finally decide to complete the project, its not a 100% done.

  • that's a cool projet you got. Well hope it can get better. Also I have the same DVD player that you used in the NES dvd player. well, hope you continue it and like you said, to sell it in ebay. :)

  • nothing more than a dvd player in a NES shell

  • >glitch>glitch>glitch>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>glitch>glitch>glitch>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>glitch>glitch>glitch>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLIT>glitch>glitch>glitch>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>>glitch>glitch>glitch>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>glitch>glitch>glitch>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>glitch>glitch>glitch>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLIT>glitch>glitch>glitch>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>GLITCH>

  • you didn't accomplish anything.

  • This is the greatest DVD player ever made. It makes the R2-D2 one look like crap.

  • i love how the cd drive comes out

  • it just had 2 b kung pow u put in

  • awsome

  • Dude, that's cool... I've got a Phillips DVP5160, it's quite thin and has also got USB-support, maybe I should mod my own NES like this with it... xD

  • great job but there,s a way to watch dvd's on a nes without modding the console.

the nes expension port does have a audio & video pin input,so you could create a addon with the dvd chipsets inside and then rotine it,s a/v signal through the nes expansion port,so actualy the nes is future proof!!!!!!

  • yea but this is so much cooler.. lol

  • yes, johneymute, but then you just have a dvd player plugged into the NES.

  • You have to be on drugs XD

  • I gotta get me one of these! Nice job dude!

  • Great job!

  • NICE

  • great project !

but IF you are having problems with the ir sensor being out of sight, i recommend putting it in place of one of the controller jacks.

    just a thought

  • goood to see the OLD nes is alive, well and still kicking ass. excellent mod man.

  • sweet man!!!!!!!!

  • Oh man, that's hilarious! Awesome DVD player. I'll bet that turns a few heads from people who want to play some NES in your house. You should kid with them at first and tell them it's the rare CD-playing NES from Hong Kong or something. Hahahaha.

  • Hehe, an improved version of the Famicom Disk System burned to CDs!

  • question: if it has a usb port in it, could you put in a flash drive that had NES roms downloaded on it could you play them and would the controller port still work to play said games?

  • Oh, naw dude. The only thing that is still Nintendo about it is just the shell, pretty much only can play DVDs and video files from a USB flash or hard drive device. Controller ports don't even do anything at the moment. Would be awesome seriously, that sounds like a nice idea you got there!

  • EXCELLENT CHOICE OF MOVIE

  • wow that is crazy i wonder what you can do with a N64 LOL

  • I should do that, only for Im gonna put the display into the lid where the disc tray will come out. I'll de-solder the IR module and place it where the controller's will get connected.

  • Rofl, you just like read my mind. I pretty much had that idea with the display, but could never think it out or pull it off in my head. Also, i do plan on mounting the IR sensor in the controller ports like some of the DVD mods i've seen here on youtube.

  • Well atleast you diden't be an asshole & make it into a tishu box. This was pretty good.

I always check out these mods, this makes me wanna submit my GamesCube modifacation.

  • roflmao, i saw that video....heh greatest NES mod ever eh......

  • Lol, Even if his NES diden't work, he could atleast put a printer in it.

My Gamescube mod that i'm going to submit is a pun because I modified a turkey Gamescube (Meaning the fan diden't work) & fixed the fan & then put a huge bulkey vent on the side of it because it was delicate. The side of it is so big it dosen't fit in my GC bag, but luckely I already got 2 more.

  • wana sell

  • You know I was planning on making more with another DVD player i found at work that may be adequate for a NES shell. Only diff is no USB. Possibly sell them on Ebay, but sorry, not selling my prototype(original).

  • thats really awsome, i kinda wana make one now

  • looks good. im doing this mod also but im not using the same dvd player so i dont have to worry about the led and the display screen. one more thing, it gets really annoying when you zoom in and out because of the sound your camera makes. besides that good video.

  • Ya, lol, not my camera, but i can say this it provides a better picture quality than my webcam. Not to mention the mic is right around the lens so you'll here the small noises the lens motor control makes. Probably should of dubed music to the video so ya'll wouldn't have to hear the grinding.
