What would be helpful is screenshots of the mpc 3000 on how to navigate the that OS and access the scsi zip drive. I push load and it keeps wanting to go to floppy, I don't see how to select the zip drive....
Couple of questions (since I'm probably going to be getting one of these bad boys). Could you use a DJ mixer instead of a straight up pre-amp, I mean, if the mixer already has a pre-amp? Is the 3000 16 or 12 bit sampling? Also, can you only route the individual audio-outs as mono (except of course the stereo out)?
@MinamotoAkori YES YOU CAN USE ANY PRE-AMP THAT HAS THE CORRECT CONNECTIONS. I USED A DJ MIXER ALL THE TIME FOR MY PRE. THE 3K IS 16 BIT. ON THE LAAST QUESTION I THINK ITS ONLY MONO. BUT IM NOT TOO SURE. CHECK IN THE AKAI FORUMS OR THE MANUAL.
So I just got my two zip drives that I need for the mpc3000 and my comp...what operating system are you using on your computer...I'm having a little problem hooking things up...
I have a mpc 2000xl with built in floppy drive and an external zip drive. does the mpc editior software allow me to save straight to floppy? otherwise ill have to buy a usb zip drive.
@Sytrusze because mpc 3000 dont have a built in pre-amp for turntables. i just used a dj mixer. around 80-120 dollars.u need a preamp when dealing with all turntables to amplify the sound to normal listening conditions.other wise its just low-fi.
i just bought a mpc1000 from some dude but he had taken all the sounds out of it...do you know if i can do the same concept with this video like you say??

Is it true, that mpc 4000 has the best of the two worlds? The sound of the older ones (u can change from 12 bit, 16 bit to 24 bit) and a possibility to hook it up to pc by using an usb port?
it's all a matter of opinion... i say no, but others would agree with you. who knows?..who cares,really...i say just find the machine that fits your style and learn it.
I totally agree with you. It's not the machine, it's all about the man, that is behind it. I'm just asking, because I was in love with mpc 3000 since it came out, and have now a chance to buy it. But I'm a lil bit afraid to do it, because i have an mpc 1000, and dunno if ill find myself in using mpc 3000. It's comfortable to have and usb port, lots of ram etc. I dont want to feel like switching from windows xp to DOS system :). What are adventages and dissadventages of this preety machine?
real talk man,if you cant figure that part out,u shouldnt fool wit the mpc3000.get a newer one like the 1000 or 2500 or 5000...they have hard drives and built in sounds and shit.
yeah.u might as well, its free to upgrade.just put it on a floppy disk and leave it in the machine at all times.that way it loads up everytime you turn it on.then just use an external drive to load sounds and save stuff

deyvip17 2 years ago
you should get the Vaulex upgrade !!!!!!
MrStarski 2 years ago
why is that?
holyprophacy 2 years ago
Is it necessary to upgrade OS of 3k to 3.11 or newer version?
My 3k with 3.03 OS can never correctly recognize SND files transferred by MPC Editor software.
