Great sound quality..brought back very good memories..thanks for posting this.Oh and thanks for the excellent comment on my version of Tie your mother down....it brought a smile to my face as well!.
A thousand thanks for posting this. I had this on cassete from the rock show recorded in the mid 80's,of course now long gone. I have never heard this version anywhere else, is it on disc anywhere?
what is the spoken bit just before the fast version kicks in all about ? not to fussed if know one actually knows as it's a great kick ass track any way .
No, it is actually a radio 4 reading of Herman Hesse's Siddartha that they found on the tape they were given to record the track. They kept the reading and mixed that part it in between the two versions. Creative genius, really.
@Xstractor You're right, it's one of those misconceptions that people have taken as fact for a long time but it's wrong. I don't know where it comes from but I do know it's not Herman Hesse.
I've heard about this studio version of the fast we will rock you but I've never heard it until now. Thanks for posting this! I sure hope they get their asses in gear and release a queen anthology. Where can i get these tracks?
I remember hearing this on radio1 introduced by Alan (fluff) Freeman sometime in 78. This was the first time the fast version had been heard by joe public and blew me away. Melancholy Blues, It's Late and Who Needs You were on the same session. Some of Queens best stuff I think.

I live in Maida Vale, and walk past the studios every day, on the way to work.
It's amazing to think about who's been in there, stepped on the same paving stones. Queen, Led Zep, Nirvana..

I'm a bit of a homophobe. Bit racist I've been told by TV shows. Freddy was god.
God is gay. God is a bit asian. Bless god.
