@frankreich In 1994, age 20, after reading Future Music 22 or 23.. That's where I saw the Eat Static article too and their SH-5. Two years later I found one. Still have it here :)
Was just reading an interview with Autechre where they said listening to Amber now, it sounds cheesy. I think they may be losing their hearing with age.
Maybe they don't see it in the same way they used to.
I'll admit, when I first began writing fanfiction, I was quite proud of myself, and believed my work was very good. Now, about two years later, (I don't write it anymore) I can't help but be critical towards my old writings, and one of my works just plain embarrasses me (although people seem to like it).
Actually, in that context, might we consider Oversteps and Move Of Ten attempts to do right what they thought they did wrong?
Hello, i come from the future, 2145 more precisely and i'm here just t tell this Nine is First on Top Galactica coz a wonderful reissue from their grand grand grand grand sons
@copulina Well, I don't necessarily want people to be sad on my funeral - just touched and moved :) Aphex Twin's "Stone In Focus" would also be good option for that matter... Or Secede's "Age Tandems"... or Kettel's "Do You Understand This Night"... or...... well, it's good to know there is still enough good music to be found ;)
I remember when this album came out and it was unlike anything I had ever heard before! The melodies were amazing, the structures were new, it was as if someone lifted the veil on this whole new world of sound and ideas and imagination! This song in particular (like many of their works) makes me cry almost any time I hear it, It takes me to emotional places. Thank God for tracks like this.
@F3udF1st LOL! Can I thank the gods of science and electronic engineering then? dont worry, the god I thank doesnt go by names and isnt an attention whore (whats my name or you cant enter my kingdom?!) more akin to the force, its the "awe" in autechre! the boom of boombastic!
call me hopeless romantic, but this track and this album were (and still are) my absolute #1 from Autechre. And one of the top electronic albums in general.
(My personal opinion) I think Autechre should go back to making this sort of music. I like their new, darker style, but this kind, and this album in particular, is just so damn relaxing.
This one, unlike many Autechre releases, bypasses the brain and goes right to the heart. Almost makes me cry it is so damn emotional, almost like the realization of our true place in the universe
warm sound
