I've had counselors betray my trust twice. Both times they went against their oath. Once, my own therapist was called into a divorce proceeding (he did not support their claim). Thing is, my own therapist was asked in an attempt to tertify against me. Years later, I needed help with my wife's bipolarism, and sought help through the calhoun county mental health system. Instead of helping me with her, they talk directly to DHR (no reason, again), and DHR then comes and harasses the family.

I do use some things in short term doses as assistance (psychedelic therapy) but mostly cognitive techniques, that fix you for life and can be learned yourself. psychiatrist's have that option too, but they are consultants who believe what they are told, not scientists. They believe the adds from drug companies, equilibrium.

This is all basically true. I do like to take some minimal meds for comfort but I hate going to the psychiatrist. I am very close to buying my antipsychotics on the black market. My psychiatrists are not taking everything is fine and instead, trying to probe for answers. I think thats because of the subjective obeservations of others and I really dont want to deal with it every 2-3 months.

This is a good video. I wish love and caring without conditioning would be the answer for all people who are in trouble or who don't fit in. Instead the psychiatric system and often friends and relatives blame those so called "sick people" for being different and punish them.
I suffer from clinical depression and paranoia, and as person with a mental illness I must say that one can't work without the other. Mental illnesses are just as physical as breaking a bone. So in order to relieve the pain you take medication. It impossible for a schizophrenic to get better by simply talking about their hallucinations, it requires medication. I have seeked help from a psychiatrist recently and it has been by far the most effective treatment I have received so far for my mind.

There are people who willingly go into institutions and seek treatment from doctors because they know that there is something wrong with them. Maybe they can't be happy despite having a good job, loving family, etc. etc. Maybe they think they see things, and these things are distractions from their life. Maybe they're pregnant and suicidal to the point of being willing to not only kill themselves but also their unborn child.

Sometimes psychs say things that are not worth it. They can make the situation worse. You, fortunately, obviously haven't experienced this, but I've seen case studies. Some people end up thinking they were raped when they haven't been.Some psychs don't act responsible. It takes a very strong person to seek help of any kind.

The way that psychiatry is operated places control over individuals who don't break the criminal law but are somehow (maybe arbitrarily or even mistakenly) regarded as unacceptable. The individual has every right to feel unfairly treated by the bypassing of a criminal process, and maybe the way to return to protecting all people is to stress that the criminal law and justice is devalued if psychiatry continually functions this way.

It's not so much how loud the person. The microphones are adjusted the same for everyone.
It's the range of the voice volumes that creates that problem. For instance, Dr. Breeding here, sometimes speaks very softly and other time speaks very loudly.
It's just naturally how he speaks. Other people maintain a more even volume through out their speaking.
There's an audio device, or nowadays plug-in, called a compressor. It will compensate for variarions in volume, turning down the loud and turning up the quiet.

So true, I was forced to comply to 2 rehab facilities and never broke the law. My family wanted control of my life desperatly. I agree with the part about letting your kid be their self. I never spanked my boy when he was growing up. I just told him right from wrong and let him apply it, and he did and is a very bright young man now. He can tear down and rebuild computers, and taught himself watching me teach myself so many things. I build my own furniture and work on my car, I am working on developing my own self defense system. Having a free mind to think for yourself is the key to a good life.

i think you're right and they are unhappy because some need (real or imagined) is not being met.
alot of times people don't realize or won't admit this fact. if you really listen to them maybe u can pin point what it is and help them achieve it, but maybe you can't.
either way, there is NO government issue drug that makes you feel good. only you have control over how you feel, but to exert it you need to truly understand your self.
It's true adult institutions and activities are like prison school. When i was a kid they would make you sit in a chair, intimidate you, and make you pee your pants before they would let you go to the bathroom. Then they would make fun of you and humiliate you for what they had brought about. It was probably just my particular experience. Kind of a sick culture, and they know not what they do.
Its just that in my case at least, it didnt matter whether I was working and/or had a place to live or not......I still had my problems of depression and emotional anxiety. Medication didnt help either and in fact, tended to make these problems worse.

It is important to realize that psychology is a very powerful tool, and that like ANY powerful tool is subject to abuse. I think these are good words of warning - we get back to trust or tame. We should be aware that it is the degree of power a person wields over another that should determine trust or tame. Power corrupts and upsets the balance of interests. The system wants to tame individuals, but it is important to remember that the system is powerful and in need of taming itself.

I am not sure he explicitly states this, but elsewhere on this site they cite "maslow" who as I understand, sees psychic health as being condition dependant, I also subscribe to this view if factors such as head injury, or other biological abnormalities are controlled. And for the record I respect what he is doing in general, especially lobbying against electroshock therepy, I just have nitpicks with his presentation.

I do use some things in short term doses as assistance (psychedelic therapy) but mostly cognitive techniques, that fix you for life and can be learned yourself. psychiatrist's have that option too, but they are consultants who believe what they are told, not scientists. They believe the adds from drug companies, equilibrium.

This is all basically true. I do like to take some minimal meds for comfort but I hate going to the psychiatrist. I am very close to buying my antipsychotics on the black market. My psychiatrists are not taking everything is fine and instead, trying to probe for answers. I think thats because of the subjective obeservations of others and I really dont want to deal with it every 2-3 months.

There seems to be two types of therapy.
Therapists who believe dominance is the solution and only if the patient accepts domination and submits, is the patient's judgment trusted. The patient must accept therapist's demands of how to organize their inner world.
The other style is not about dominance but as this Youtube author says. Rather, the patient is aided to process the realities of their own world to facilitate inner connections and thereby become more connected to the external world.

I suffer from clinical depression and paranoia, and as person with a mental illness I must say that one can't work without the other. Mental illnesses are just as physical as breaking a bone. So in order to relieve the pain you take medication. It impossible for a schizophrenic to get better by simply talking about their hallucinations, it requires medication. I have seeked help from a psychiatrist recently and it has been by far the most effective treatment I have received so far for my mind.

There are people who willingly go into institutions and seek treatment from doctors because they know that there is something wrong with them. Maybe they can't be happy despite having a good job, loving family, etc. etc. Maybe they think they see things, and these things are distractions from their life. Maybe they're pregnant and suicidal to the point of being willing to not only kill themselves but also their unborn child.

Sometimes psychs say things that are not worth it. They can make the situation worse. You, fortunately, obviously haven't experienced this, but I've seen case studies. Some people end up thinking they were raped when they haven't been.Some psychs don't act responsible. It takes a very strong person to seek help of any kind.

The way that psychiatry is operated places control over individuals who don't break the criminal law but are somehow (maybe arbitrarily or even mistakenly) regarded as unacceptable. The individual has every right to feel unfairly treated by the bypassing of a criminal process, and maybe the way to return to protecting all people is to stress that the criminal law and justice is devalued if psychiatry continually functions this way.

Someone in my life always went by how they felt, "projecting" their feelings on me; the reality of the situation couldn't have been more different. It's not so much how loud the person. The microphones are adjusted the same for everyone.
It's the range of the voice volumes that creates that problem. For instance, Dr. Breeding here, sometimes speaks very softly and other time speaks very loudly.
It's just naturally how he speaks. Other people maintain a more even volume through out their speaking.

I agree with the part about letting your kid be their self. I never spanked my boy when he was growing up. I just told him right from wrong and let him apply it, and he did and is a very bright young man now. He can tear down and rebuild computers, and taught himself watching me teach myself so many things. I build my own furniture and work on my car, I am working on developing my own self defense system. Having a free mind to think for yourself is the key to a good life.

i got the clue, though that much of
relations is much more surreal,
maybe due to ww3 like standings,
that those relations are so subtile(subliminal messages) that it comes close to mindcontrol,
than communication.

It's true adult institutions and activities are like prison school. When i was a kid they would make you sit in a chair, intimidate you, and make you pee your pants before they would let you go to the bathroom. Then they would make fun of you and humiliate you for what they had brought about. It was probably just my particular experience. Kind of a sick culture, and they know not what they do.

Im not sure what you mean here.
Its just that in my case at least, it didnt matter whether I was working and/or had a place to live or not......I still had my problems of depression and emotional anxiety. Medication didnt help either and in fact, tended to make these problems worse.

It is important to realize that psychology is a very powerful tool, and that like ANY powerful tool is subject to abuse. I think these are good words of warning - we get back to trust or tame. We should be aware that it is the degree of power a person wields over another that should determine trust or tame. Power corrupts and upsets the balance of interests. The system wants to tame individuals, but it is important to remember that the system is powerful and in need of taming itself.

There are different schools of psychology.
Some of them work with the person and attempt to give the person autonomy and independence, while other types simply seek to control them.
He isn't against all forms of psychology, he specifically mentioned not liking biological psychiatry or behavior psychology as two specific branches of psychology.

I am not sure he explicitly states this, but elsewhere on this site they cite "maslow" who as I understand, sees psychic health as being condition dependant, I also subscribe to this view if factors such as head injury, or other biological abnormalities are controlled. And for the record I respect what he is doing in general, especially lobbying against electroshock therepy, I just have nitpicks with his presentation.

Read whose books? The general thrust is more or less valid in my opinion, the system is currupt, just his presentation is bad, he refers to himself as THE authority, for example, and you cant dichotimize people into "inherently responsible" or "need to be controled"... "Suicide" from "prozac" is not a "common dynamic", although it does happen. This guy appears a hippy who moved from acid to ayahuasca, not a scholar, I guess he is a "new-age salesman" so to speak.
