I was never a fan of the show, But as I watch them on TVLAND in rerun heaven, I am now a fan and respect what Roseanne Barr acheived. She really had a good show and sorry it took me this long to realize it. She really did nail the idea of what real families are like. We all have people like them in our families.

Yea Roseanne did a Q&A session...they asked why it was a boy, she said that in her normal pregnancy (she was pregnant in real life) they told her girloriginally...and when she found out it was a boy she just wanted to keep it a surprise for the show.

Does anyone have the episode when they go to the Wentworths mansion? That is one of my favorite episodes. The simplicity of "Chip, Flip and Skip". I can watch that 3 second part over and over again and still die laughing.

I think the earlier seasons were definitely the best. She was funnier, original, and the lines weren't redudandant. I find her raunchy in the later seasons. It was like she had run out of material and punch lines.  The whole " we are proud to be trash" ideal was overdone at one point.

the series didn't totally jump the shark until the 8th season, which should of been the last season. the retcon(a change or reversal of an already established fact in a series) in the series finale was unnecessary and extremely upsetting.
