Honestly, the earring back thing is not a bad idea but I think I'd make a hole in the cap to stick the earring back post through the hole and glue the inside edge so taking the earrings off wouldn't pull the post off like it would if it were just simply glued to the outside.

Anyway, it's still a very cute idea!

clear epoxy stickers. try finding them at craft stores if you can't locate them online like at ebay. you can also try Diamond Glaze if you're sticking your image in the inside of the cap instead of on the outside lid.

One thing that I found really useful is if you want to spend a little you can by a 1inch round paper cut available for aroud $10-$15 at craft stores. It is really convienient because you can see what you are cutting, its a perfect circle, no tracing and cutting, and you can cut them really quickly, and they fit PERECTLY in the bottle cap!. Just a little tip :D

It will rust so I think it is a good idea to prime if you want it to last a while. Also, trace your circle from the top and not the bottom side and you won't have to trim it. Good tute. Thank you. Oh, I make a hole on the bottom too so I can add a tassel. : )

So how do you make the long style earrings? Do you have a tutorial for that?

To make earrings I drill a whole in the top of the bottle cap before I paint or decorate. I put it in a vice and use a very small drill bit. But if you don't have a drill I have heard of people using a nail and hammering a hole in by putting the edge of the cap on the table and going through the back. Then you just need earring hooks (if you want even longer: earring hooks + chain) and you can put it right through the hole.

E-600 glue is the best for sticking magnets to bottlecaps. You can get it at Walmart, Lowes, Michaels and so on.

I think it's best to use something like superglue or some kind of glue that specifies it can bond metals to metals. (A hot glue gun doesn't work well because the pin & glue just break off together.) You really have to be sure to put enough on and let it dry or else they'll break apart.

hi i was just wondering.. i made a necklace by taking bottle caps and hammering 2 holes on the flat surface right across from eachother.. i connected them together with wire, but found it wasn't the best way to do it. they turn over all the time.. how can i prevent that? I probably shouldn't have used wire to connect them. what would you suggest?

I'm not exactly sure I understand how you're connecting them, so I'm not sure what you can do better. It would seem that a sturdy wire would create less twisting than, say, a chain. Maybe changing the location of the holes would help?
