Hi I live in Canada. I try to go back to Bulgaria once a year. I am impressed and disappointed every time I go back. The corruption regarding the EU funds epitomizes the Bulgarian politician, but sadly reflects bad on the Bulgarian people. People do need to unite against it. It has been done before! Sadly, I have no plans to ever move back to Bulgaria.
I am an American. I was just talking with my dad about the issue of politicians going into politics for the intent of becoming wealthy, rather than already being wealthy. People like Arnold Schwarzenegger are the ones who are able to resist the temptation of becoming corrupted. Why? Because they already made their wealth in private life and have nothing more to gain. Sure, there are few exceptions (Bush) but many of our early presidents like Jefferson, Washington and Lincoln are good examples.
