The Phantom of the Opera in Las Vegas

Vegas Phantom is a severely edited version - over an hour is cut from the production, songs chopped, some scenes entirely removed - the vegas production is more an infomercial for the the regular show. If you want the 'readers digest' version - this is it. If you like concentrated orange juice - it's here. But if you want the real show - Broadway, this is nothing like it except louder flashes, more thunder and fire; Wheres the beef? it's Not here - more fat - less meat. A shame.

I seen it at the Venetian (front row) It is truely a masterpiece...NOTHING BEAT THE PHANTOM !!!

The Vegas show is truly amazing. The special effects are unsurpassed and the whole production, flawless. I am in no way associated with the show or the hotel.

I saw this production this week,IT WAS FANTASTIC! it was not a sold out venue! but I got great seats very close to the Chandelier crash! for $50, and i had seen 'Phantom'in London 10 yeras ago, and the las Vegas production was fantastic!!! way better! in my Opinion! : )

this was so amazing kind of bummed the theater was not even full it was like a little bit over half of the theater seats were empty :)

All I can say is that they are NOT trying to OFFEND anyone it is called Publicity people. Chill out! and this particular rendition was absolutely wonderful. The cast, the orchestra, the acting, the visual and special effects were incredible. This is a wonderful way of getting the story to the younger crowd as well.

All in all, a wonderful, wonderful play and most excellent cast. I would strongly recommend to anyone that they see it.

No reason to see this show any where else? Thats insulting to the Browadway and touring cast , and to be honest all the new special effects Vegas added do nothing foe me. I love the original Phantom and why change something thats already good

@scoobyboi84 It's a beautiful production anywhere you see it. Note that the review came from Chicago Tribune, not "Las Vegas Tribune." The opinions are nationwide. Phantom is stunning ANYWHERE you see it, but the custom-built theatre, cast, special-effects, and modernized performance (in no order) really do add something to it. Having seen the show 30+ times in many states, it's an opinion I've formed with careful observation. :) But still...just an opinion.

@scoobyboi84 agreed! ; The reason to see the show 'anywhere else' is - anywhere else - you can see the entire show, as opposed to a cut and shrunk production with louder noises and flashier lights.

there was no reson to see the phantom any where else because of Anthony crivello I bet the reviews are going to say somthing else about it when he leaves.

las vegas new so thats why they chose now to remove the clear amazing videos of him.

@jindark2 My GOD! AMAZING IN EVERY SEAT! I Had a from row seat and I saw everytihng! The orchestra isnt loud but you hear it all the way in the back row and balcony seats!

Looks spectacular...but at the end of the day, it's the performance that counts!

It's a big claim to say "there's no reason to see this show anywhere else", given there's so many great casts around the world currently.
