  • nice job red gloves. hey moviemaker.....boxing is a "gentlemans fight" mma allows anything youve got to be a weapon. boxing will never measure up.

  • I'm going through a tough time right now but this really inspires me at 04:17 in the morning on the 12.02.10. • Very goodjob. I too, am like you, however I never joined a gym. I want to, and hopefully test how I am compared to others like yourself

  • Never mind i figured out which one is you man much respect to you i read your story its true you have to take care of yourself cause if you dont who else is? no one! so anyhoo I have a kid too which is why i do alot of my training so i can protect her!

  • which one was you micmart?

  • awesome work bro!

  • alright i guess your right..the guy kept goin to the ground..next time let him pay for it...let me say this..to make your boxing sharper..throw straights not hooks its more effective to get a guy stunned...good luck man..tell DAN HENDO to knock silva the hell OUT!!

  • this is the funniest shit ever!! you guys need to learn stand up..its all about boxing..MMA will never hold up..just like tim sylvia vs a ray mercer he got his ass handed to him..good luck MMA DUDES

  • Yeah I kow it must look pretty silly to a trained boxer. I love boxing and have studied it for over a year now. Never purported to be any good though...just love to train thats all. This was my first fight and I really wish we had done more stand up actually. He just seemed too afraid of getting hit so he spent the whole fight trying to tackle me.

  • no u can fight someone and expect to just punch them they r gonna wanna take u down and beat the shit out of u not box

  • You are a true moron...

  • @MOVIEMAKER241 are you saying a boxer would beat a mixed martial artist? in an MMA fight? if you think that... you are stupid. go back and watch some of the first UFC's when that theory was proven completely wrong...

  • @MOVIEMAKER241 Thats why i miss pride league.

  • @MOVIEMAKER241 hah how bout james toney vs randy couture?

  • @MOVIEMAKER241 A kickboxer or mauy thai practitioner 9 out of 10 times would finish a boxer.

  • @MOVIEMAKER241 so umm what happened to tony whatever who fought randy couture ... boxing yeah, when mayweather learns that he's a fighter not a track star and quits running away from peopl, maybe then i'll respect boxing again

  • @MOVIEMAKER241 Watch the early ufcs from the 90's and you'll see why pure boxers can't defend themselves when their taken to the ground

  • @MOVIEMAKER241 Oh yeah and let me tell James Toney looked bad ass when Randy Couture choked his ass out! haha

  • well done mate i need to lose alot of weight 2

  • Just think how good you will be after another 9 months!! Great Fight!!

  • great job bro

  • wow the control you had over his back i thought that you were going to submit him with a rear naked choke for sure

  • great fight man, inspirational background as well, I bet you must feel amazing compared to your old weight. Ive had a similar weight loss journey as well and also have gotten into MMA pretty heavily too. My weight loss advice- keep taking photos of yourself regularly, compare the photos, its hard to notice a difference in your body as you see it everyday, you'll see it in the photos and it will only motivate you more, and and keep up the boxing, you look like you got some heavy hands!

  • congrats

  • congrats man!

  • dam u destroyed, im starting to train now, but im only 14, but hopefully its a good early start, i train at hmc, in honolulu

  • Great job Mike! I'm proud of you - Aunt B

  • Well done Mate. I'm 43 yrs old and I'm trainin for my 1st MMA fight...lol. I luv it.

  • That is awesome to hear man. Go get em. Randy Couture did not even start MMA till he was 34....let me know how your fight goes. One thing I can say is that age and the experience that comes with it help to calm the mind. I used to get so riled up before a wrestling match that I would psych myself out before I even stepped on thye mat. Before this fight I actually slept until about 5 min to go. It helped too, because I was not the least bit nervous and I could tell that this kid was very nervous.

  • Nice scrap worm! Seems like just yesterday we were talking about our dreams while we toiled away (actually, sat around) at work. That was 15 months ago for us and 90 lbs ago for you. Sometimes when life kicks our ass... we kick back. Way to go dude! -K

  • Well done grasshopper! You've come a long ways amigo. It seemed like just yesterday we were at work talking about chasing our dreams and doing what we love. That was 15 months ago and like 90 lbs ago for you. I'm moving up North in about 3 wks, about 1.2 hours from Reno, to take over a failing business (one of my dreams). But Poker (my other dream) is right around the corner...;) Peace!... unless ur in the ring! -K

  • Mike, dude... that was awesome bro! Great focus, you seemed in total control the entire bout. You've come a long way in a short time. I'm proud of you. =)

  • steeler: Thanks for the compliment.

First of all never let anyone tell you that you are too old. Along the path of life you will pass many people who will try to discourage you from your goals for various reasons. Just remember that only you are in control of the paths you take and within you lies the ability to achieve ANYTHING you set your mind to.

As for advice on fighting: Always keep your hands up and learn to control your hips; they are where all of your power comes from. Good luck man.

  • good job man i,m 38 and i,m thinking of fighting in pankration or mma do you have any helpful advice for me ....thx

  • Gotta read the info on the right to fully understand
