I want to know if u think I should try mma (once I'm old enough) I go to the gym ALOT and have a small home gym I use even more and I was a red belt with 2 stripes in karate and did ju jitsu for about 4 months but then had to stop do you think I should try mma
nice fight bro. Me and ma dad r interested in doing MMA also. We did karate for a few years and we stoped after we got our blackbelts, and we decided to do something different. Is this a good idea?
props...I'm where you were when you started....but I was 350 and 5'10"...now down to 295 after some cardio kickboxing and will start my first jiu jitsu class in november and mix in some boxing for my standup. I have NO DESIRE to fight...well I do..but my wife ain't having it. good job!! Inspirational for sure...I hear nothing but great things about team quest. I'm going to start at riverside submission and p-town boxing gym out of perris.
hey fuck you MOVIEMAKER241 i have trianed with the legend bas rutten and mma is the most popular fighting sport out there. and if you don't think so then we will have to fight to see who is better mma or boxing. tough guy. you know nothing.
I'm going through a tough time right now but this really inspires me at 04:17 in the morning on the 12.02.10. Hope to visit this vid one day and make a comment saying I'm feeling 100% and perhaps a similar vid in response. Thank you so much for putting this up. Good work and good luck for the future bro!
very nice fight your outclassed your opponent in every aspect. your an inspiration man to all other obese people out there you are living proof that with alot of hardwork you can be healthy
Love ur heart and determination man. Im 19 and I though I was too old to learn martial arts. But being an electrical engineering student force me to sit down and study all day. I really need to get out more.
@jakebordes yeah team qeust is no joke im so happy i just recieved my green belt im the youngest green belt in my gym at tarpeins/carlos gracies bjj im only 15. 3 years of hard work.
Never mind i figured out which one is you man much respect to you i read your story its true you have to take care of yourself cause if you dont who else is? no one! so anyhoo I have a kid too which is why i do alot of my training so i can protect her!
alright i guess your right..the guy kept goin to the ground..next time let him pay for it...let me say this..to make your boxing sharper..throw straights not hooks its more effective to get a guy stunned...good luck man..tell DAN HENDO to knock silva the hell OUT!!
this is the funniest shit ever!! you guys need to learn stand up..its all about boxing..MMA will never hold up..just like tim sylvia vs a ray mercer he got his ass handed to him..good luck MMA DUDES
Yeah I kow it must look pretty silly to a trained boxer. I love boxing and have studied it for over a year now. Never purported to be any good though...just love to train thats all. This was my first fight and I really wish we had done more stand up actually. He just seemed too afraid of getting hit so he spent the whole fight trying to tackle me.
@MOVIEMAKER241 are you saying a boxer would beat a mixed martial artist? in an MMA fight? if you think that... you are stupid. go back and watch some of the first UFC's when that theory was proven completely wrong...
@MOVIEMAKER241 so umm what happened to tony whatever who fought randy couture ... boxing yeah, when mayweather learns that he's a fighter not a track star and quits running away from peopl, maybe then i'll respect boxing again
great fight man, inspirational background as well, I bet you must feel amazing compared to your old weight. Ive had a similar weight loss journey as well and also have gotten into MMA pretty heavily too. My weight loss advice- keep taking photos of yourself regularly, compare the photos, its hard to notice a difference in your body as you see it everyday, you'll see it in the photos and it will only motivate you more, and and keep up the boxing, you look like you got some heavy hands!
That is awesome to hear man. Go get em. Randy Couture did not even start MMA till he was 34....let me know how your fight goes. One thing I can say is that age and the experience that comes with it help to calm the mind. I used to get so riled up before a wrestling match that I would psych myself out before I even stepped on thye mat. Before this fight I actually slept until about 5 min to go. It helped too, because I was not the least bit nervous and I could tell that this kid was very nervous.
Nice scrap worm! Seems like just yesterday we were talking about our dreams while we toiled away (actually, sat around) at work. That was 15 months ago for us and 90 lbs ago for you. Sometimes when life kicks our ass... we kick back. Way to go dude! -K
Well done grasshopper! You've come a long ways amigo. It seemed like just yesterday we were at work talking about chasing our dreams and doing what we love. That was 15 months ago and like 90 lbs ago for you. I'm moving up North in about 3 wks, about 1.2 hours from Reno, to take over a failing business (one of my dreams). But Poker (my other dream) is right around the corner...;) Peace!... unless ur in the ring! -K
Mike, dude... that was awesome bro! Great focus, you seemed in total control the entire bout. You've come a long way in a short time. I'm proud of you. =)
First of all never let anyone tell you that you are too old. Along the path of life you will pass many people who will try to discourage you from your goals for various reasons. Just remember that only you are in control of the paths you take and within you lies the ability to achieve ANYTHING you set your mind to.
As for advice on fighting: Always keep your hands up and learn to control your hips; they are where all of your power comes from. Good luck man.
holy shit you guys are out of shape. Ugly motherfuckers.
