I've been working on my 78 for a while, but it definitely doesn't go above 25. Where did you drill those exhaust holes?

@TheTh1rdChild Drilled 2 holes.  1 Above the tip and 1 below the tip. Also took out the steel air filter and replaced it with a cloth filter.
