I got the information from a magazine article back years ago when they were shutting down the rumors of the older busa with the 220mph speedo was cabable of the 220, they mentioned its been in agreement between the US and Japan to Limit/Governt (for people who dont know what Limit means) all their superbikes to 186mph.
