@senorchipotle ya...this is kind of exactly what your supposed to do. If you get rid of the angle to soon you can't reach your maximum swing speed. How bout we learn a little bit about he golf swing before we start criticizing peoples instructions.
you said this "you guys are morons. this guy knows more about the swing than anyone i have ever seen. Im 22 and hit my 3 iron 250 carry and my driver 315 carry because I do exactly what he is talking about." he says "hold the angle to increase swing speed, rotate your arms and release the club." a swing driven with centrifugal force doesn't need to be released and the forearms don't need to be rotated, that happens on its own.
What a great video...seems plain but is packed with the most vital tips for the perfect golf swing. Timing, tempo, and wrist release is so critical. Thanks for the upload.
you guys are morons. this guy knows more about the swing than anyone i have ever seen. Im 22 and hit my 3 iron 250 carry and my driver 315 carry because I do exactly what he is talking about. if he was younger he would hit at least that far. you're pretty ignorant if you think that his swing speed determines how much he knows.
@ss4adam What's your swing speed when you hit your driver? I'm trying to get drives up to 350+ but my fastest club speed I have seen is just under 120 MPH. I've topped out at the driving range at about 320 total distance hitting range balls and a rental driver. I also read something about how bringing the club head back farther on the back swing can bring club speed up.
with my driver i average about 125. i get 127 on the good swings and 123 on my bad ones (each day is different too). If u want ill try and make a video soon. Im only 5'7'' and 135 lbs LOL. I dont try to take it back unnaturally far (if your spine angle changes u lose a ton of speed). Make sure your sequence is right; start the swing from hands on down to feet, then reverse teh order for the downswing. There r some other things i do for added speed that he doest talk about.
@ss4adam Damn that's good. I have yet to break 120 and I'm 6'3 about 270. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I'm going to work on my wrist mechanics coming through with my down swing. I have heard some other people talk about snapping their wrists at the bottom of their swing to create an almost whiplash effect with the club. I'm gonna give that a try and see how that works out.
@jstrick114 why in the world would you need it drive the ball 350 yards?? if you wanna become good at golf take your driver out of your bag and only use fairwaywoods or irons. ive been doing this for a while and its the reason ive been able to be a 4 handicap. all you have to do is hit the fairway and keep the ball out of trouble...
@mikeandike76 Or you could just not suck with the driver and hit a 7 iron into the green instead of a 4 iron. 7 iron will usually get you closer to the flag, which will in turn cause you to make more putts and lower your scores.
That's why people want to hit big drives. You don't NEED to, but it's nice as long as you can make the putts as well.
@ss4adam ... this is terrible advice. you don't "hold the angle" in a golf swing, unless you plan on actually slowing your swing down. if you make a proper downswing, you don't have to worry about rotating anything but your body because centrifugal force takes care of the rest. this is bogus.
@senorchipotle you obviously cant read at all. talk to me after going to middle school. i NEVER said i try to told the angle longer than natural. i focus on my leg and hip turn and then snap my wrist. dont try to put words in my mouth. thanks
@irontoe of course not, he's three times our age... That's what high-compression golf balls are for. If you think you're going to have 120 mph swing speed at 65 then ur dilusional
this could cause a draw if you keep the wrist cocked for too long on the through swing. also he didnt pivot around his spine in the final demo shot, well not what i would call a good pivot as he only turned his body slightly.
YouTube recommended this video for me. I can't understand why.

@britishno6 leaving your wrist cocked would cause a slice. having your hands go through early causes a draw
