i think your review mate makes little sense. the hp mini is not a gaming machine, it's basically light applications machine, for Web browsing, light office applications and the like.  I can't see any hardcore gamer using it. it's not to say it's a crappy machine, but it's not suited for gaming IMO.

I bought this netbook to replace a broken Toshiba satelite that had a AMD Dual Core Proc running at 1.9ghz but had a lousy ATI X1200 graphics. For some odd reason this HP Mini 311 1000NR with a 1.6GHz single core proc and its tiny ION Graphics seems to run and play games much better. All I have to say is ATOM & ION FTW!

I can play HALO CE, GTA SA, CoD4, PORTAL, Half Life 2, Tomb Raider Anniversary, & many other games on low to medium settings at very playable frame rates!!!

I have mine coming in the post,I am led to believe you can also get a stable overclock to 1.8Ghz or even 2.0Ghz,Oh god I cant wait for it to get here so I can mess around with it.

Oh also i would have reccomended turning off Steam community as that does eat away at the CPU slightly you could have got atleast 3-5 more FPS with it off.

i am not a hp worker or something like that ,i am just an 18 yrs boy that thinks it is better to take it from fabrique with all the options ,why that? . well because if you put it yourself you have two reasons to not make it : 1. you can damage the connectors . 2 . you can have hardware conflict wich results in "old config performes better" so my advice is to buy it like that upgraded already because its a matter of compatibility and basic is just 400 (not TOO MUCH

Even with the Ion, spending 400 dollars on netbook is a iffy proposition. In a couple of mouths or even year I hope economics of scale will allow Dell to sell these at the 300 dollar sweetspot range.
