I would also like to point out that his rights were not read to him, and under federal law, if he asks why he is being detained, the officer that arrested him is obliged to tell him, and if he asks why he was tased, he has to be told.

I do think the Occupy crowd is starting to ask the right questions, and even though it's not a very efficient process, they're slowly converging on the right answers. The cop was cleary in the wrong. She seemed determined to use the taser regardless of what he did. The training of officers seems way below standard here. To go into a group of people and use force like this only asks for problems. It also makes me wonder however, if this tactic was approved before it happened. The officers could have received a message from HQ to make a stand and show the the DC police mean business. Either way, not a great day for policing in this country.

To go into a group of people and use force like this only asks for problems. It also makes me wonder however, if this tactic was approved before it happened. it was justified, cop tries to stop the guy in which he continues to be disorderly and unwilling to stop. The other cops came in and grabbed him, and he tried to run, i would had tasered also.

@MCsempfi By that logic why didn't they pistol whip him, or just shoot him below the waste, the dangers of tasers and what they do to a persons heart is not healed later, their heart can be damaged for life. He had no weapon and was not threatening, but I know the world you want for your children is with cameras on every corner and a chip in everybody, they'll be raised to love their servitude.
