Why do people constantly try to paint intactvism as antisemitic and Naziism? Jews represent approximately 0.2% of the world population. Assuming half of that 0.2% are Jewish males, that means Jewish males represent 0.1%. 15% of the world's males are circumcised. That means only 1 in 150 circumcised men are Jewish. Christians, Muslims, and Africans represent the majority of male genital mutilation victims. Male genital mutilation is clearly an international issue. Not just a Jewish issue.

Thanks for posting this video! My husband and I are having our first son in May and we have been doing a lot of research on this subject. We have both decided that it is in the best interest of our son to keep him intact! I hope a lot more parents do their research before they decide to do this awful procedure to their sons as well.

Many reasons are given to support circumcision but I think that if we are truly honest with ourselves then we might admit that this practice continues mostly as a form of barbaric cosmetic surgery, at least in western culture this would be the case. I very much doubt there is anything wrong or abnormal if that is the case with a 4 years old and I wouldn't even bother putting him through the hassle of seeing a "specialist." You definitely permanently lose something, but you can grow a very good substitute with enough effort. From someone who has been restoring for a year and a half I can say it makes a great magnitude of difference.

Just to answer some of the confusion here, neither of the Phoenix brothers were circumcised AT BIRTH. However, River chose to get it done in his late teens or early 20's. His autopsy report indicated him to be "circumcised". There is no reason to suspect that Joaquin ever had it done. Daniel Radcliff IS circumcised, but David Beckham is clearly not. Neither is Ewan McGreggor, Macaulay Culkin or Mark-Paul Gosselaar.

Many reasons are given to support circumcision but I think that if we are truly honest with ourselves then we might admit that this practice continues mostly as a form of barbaric cosmetic surgery, at least in western culture this would be the case. People have developed a skewed opinion of what a natural penis should look like. If you don't believe me then when was the last time sex toys were made to look like a natural penis?

@bronzepumpkin The foreskin is not supposed to be retractable until adolescence! I very much doubt there is anything wrong or abnormal if that is the case with a 4 years old and I wouldn't even bother putting him through the hassle of seeing a "specialist." Just leave it alone and let him grow. Chances are he'll develop perfectly as he gets older in his own time.

@bronzepumpkin Your son doesn't have phimosis, fyi. It's impossible to diagnose someone under the age of 13 with phimosis. The head of the penis is adhered to the foreskin, like your fingernail to your finger. It isn't phimosis, it's normal.

@tweexican That's not necessarily true. It's not scientifically understood what exactly gets regrown or not. You definitely permanently lose something, but you can grow a very good substitute with enough effort. From someone who has been restoring for a year and a half I can say it makes a great magnitude of difference.

None of the males in my family are circ'd. I didn't circ my boys either. They are adults now, and they have never had any problems with anything. I would never cut of a person's body parts. That is up to them to decide. Our sons are happy that they are intact, and we live in the US.

Just to answer some of the confusion here, neither of the Phoenix brothers were circumcised AT BIRTH. However, River chose to get it done in his late teens or early 20's. His autopsy report indicated him to be "circumcised". There is no reason to suspect that Joaquin ever had it done. Daniel Radcliff IS circumcised, but David Beckham is clearly not. Neither is Ewan McGreggor, Macaulay Culkin or Mark-Paul Gosselaar.

Even the United States used to circumcise girls and women for the same reasons they circumcised men. Male circumcision remains legal because people say outlawing child genital mutilation is anti-semitic.

Most circumcisions in the United States are not performed for religion. Muslims have no set age to circumcise and there is no mention of circumcision in the Quran.
