I dont care about their kids. The fact they didn't show anything like a big fancy wedding or them having kids and living happily ever after is what makes this show so MATURE & BRILLIANT. I just finished to see the series again, and there is a part in 0:43 - 0:48 that I'm sure I've never seen... does anyone know from which episode is this?
I really love how the acting wasn't "over the top". No special sound effects. Camera angles were kept simple. Nothing too fancy. It was more real. It allowed the viewers to focus more on the plot and the characters.
In the end: personalities evolved & relationships were mended. Now, it's Tongdao's turn. I think it would've been a little too cliche to show more of Ling&QuiLuo's happy ending. Doing that would probably changed the whole feel of the drama.
I keep coming across reviews about this series, and decided to check it out for the first time.
Absolute brilliance! Very underrated. I love how this doesn't fall into the typical idol genre. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the more light-hearted variety too. But, this series left me feeling "moved" & inspired. I don't even know what kind of inspiration it is. I just feel that Mars was so artistically put together. Kudos to the cast & crew. Many thanx to the subbers.

omg.. this soap opera has put me to tears.. THIS is what real love is. It's where the two end up saving each other without even trying to or even knowing about it. I've never seen such an INTENSE and yet better portrayal or what REAL LOVE is. The happiness is making me cry so much!! All that they had to endure, all that they went through. Death, life, risks, obstacles, rape, and so much more. Never did they once GIVE up on one another or their LOVE.. So did not want this to END!!!
I think a tragic ending would be more beautiful, like if Qi Luo would tell their kid, in a flash forward , about how great his daddy was and stuff like that.
i hate tong dao omg. i totally anticipated what he would do to ling...ive anticipated it for a while. @@ thank goodness the show didn't end in tragedy, i went into the final episode with nearly a heart attack.
After watching this i think that shen was the creepiest person in this drama...i mean he was different than what everyone thought he was, he committed suicide because he was a weak and so he could leave a wound in his brother's heart because ling was getting further and further away from him and want ling to join his death...i know alot to people think that tong dao is the creepiest, but i find tong dao more annoying than creepy, anyways I LOVE THIS DRAMA XD
I'm not a fan of Vic and Barbie, but the reason I watched this drama is because Mars is my fave manga of all time. Fuyumi Soryo did a great job on this story and I'm glad that Vic and Barbie portrayed the characters so well and did amazingly good. I do hope to see many live versions of this story soon, and an anime too! :)
Oh..but i do have a question..since meteor garden was older than this drama where was barbie's tattoos XD? did they cover them up for the whole drama?

what else to say? seems everytlhing good has already been said about this series. i really like the storyline. if 'm not mistaken, i've have heard the main leads (ling) saying i love you just for one time while (qi lou) saying i like you just once or a couple of time. and i appreciate the way "i love you" has been acted upon instead of just merely saying it. genuine love has no bounderies and thus words will never be capable of expressing it. kudos to writer, production and casts. really nice!
I 've watched tens of asian dramas, but this is the only one that has actually affected me! The only drama with quality, that dared touch issues that are considered taboo in our society, like psychological disorders. I'm really happy I watched it.... Definitely far better that Meteor Garden and definitely Vic's best role in all his career. I might go watch it for the third time..

I still like Meteor Garden better, but I felt this show was a lot more mature. It didn't have the couple breaking up every other episode. I lost count of how many times daoming si and shancai broke up in Meteor Garden. It was good to see these two actors in another show together. Their chemistry is just too perfect and I loved how much they needed each other and helped each other over come their own tragedies.

i like the ending. when i saw him and then the little girl, i was like "get that girl away from him!" but then it was so sweet even tho he was such a creep, the drawing symbolizing maybe there is still hope he can get better. in the manga i think they just showed him miserable in the hospital. and in the manga they didn't show ling & qi luo's future with kids, i sort of hoped they would in this, i wish they would have a special that showed them in 5 yrs with a kid or something.
brilliant story!!! i thoroughly enjoyed it from the beginning to end. salute to the writer of this story and to the actors who portrayed their characters well. watching this drama gave me a better understanding of people who have psychological problems and how tough and long the journey is towards recovery. at the end of the day, no matter how tragic the circumstances a person is in, life is still a choice...whether to give up or deal with it with courage x

the drawing has a sun, clouds, and birds. the sun symbolizes happiness while the clouds are hope. the birds mean that tongdao's finally flying towards the sky [sun+clouds] and away from the darkness that once enveloped him.

Really good drama! I have been to Taiwan and it is such a beautiful Island. Taibei is such a big beautiful city. So clean. But this ending could have been better. I think they should have showed more of the race or more of just Ling with Qi Luo being a happy couple with a beautiful life. Something. Then it would have been better.

The ending is just like in the manga, as is the entire series. They followed it very closely. Very good series, one of my favorites now, and I have seen quite a few now. Vic and Barbie were awesome, I was really impressed with them, they were perfect. If you wanted an ending that hinted at pregnancy, I would suggest Goong. :D

what else to say? seems everytlhing good has already been said about this series. i really like the storyline. if 'm not mistaken, i've have heard the main leads (ling) saying i love you just for one time while (qi lou) saying i like you just once or a couple of time. and i appreciate the way "i love you" has been acted upon instead of just merely saying it. genuine love has no bounderies and thus words will never be capable of expressing it. kudos to writer, production and casts. really nice!

I 've watched tens of asian dramas, but this is the only one that has actually affected me! The only drama with quality, that dared touch issues that are considered taboo in our society, like psychological disorders. I'm really happy I watched it.... Definitely far better that Meteor Garden and definitely Vic's best role in all his career. I might go watch it for the third time..

I know everyone hates the physco path, but you have to amit it was cute of that girl to help he start erasing the darkness which surrounds him, but like others said - The ending should of been another Ling & Qui Lou Moment. *sigh* this was still cute though. :)

so tong dao really did reach his breaking point and become truly mental...i think it's good for him...that what he needs to fully recover. I love the ending so much and i love the little girl. i think shes going to be the person tong dao will protect and through her he will find his happiness

I still like Meteor Garden better, but I felt this show was a lot more mature. It didn't have the couple breaking up every other episode. I lost count of how many times daoming si and shancai broke up in Meteor Garden. It was good to see these two actors in another show together. Their chemistry is just too perfect and I loved how much they needed each other and helped each other over come their own tragedies.

i like the ending. when i saw him and then the little girl, i was like "get that girl away from him!" but then it was so sweet even tho he was such a creep, the drawing symbolizing maybe there is still hope he can get better. in the manga i think they just showed him miserable in the hospital. and in the manga they didn't show ling & qi luo's future with kids, i sort of hoped they would in this, i wish they would have a special that showed them in 5 yrs with a kid or something.

brilliant story!!! i thoroughly enjoyed it from the beginning to end. salute to the writer of this story and to the actors who portrayed their characters well. watching this drama gave me a better understanding of people who have psychological problems and how tough and long the journey is towards recovery. at the end of the day, no matter how tragic the circumstances a person is in, life is still a choice...whether to give up or deal with it with courage x

Really good drama! I have been to Taiwan and it is such a beautiful Island. Taibei is such a big beautiful city. So clean. But this ending could have been better. I think they should have showed more of the race or more of just Ling with Qi Luo being a happy couple with a beautiful life. Something. Then it would have been better.

The ending is just like in the manga, as is the entire series. They followed it very closely. Very good series, one of my favorites now, and I have seen quite a few now. Vic and Barbie were awesome, I was really impressed with them, they were perfect. If you wanted an ending that hinted at pregnancy, I would suggest Goong. :D
