NO POINT IN THIS KIND OF DISCUSSION (REFERRING TO THE COMMENTS) - AS LONG AS DISCUSSANTS REFUSE TO SEE EVEN WHEN THEY CAN SEE. For, the facts mentioned in the Vedas, like for ex., Purusha sookta, are couched in allegorical language and style. The purpose was not to put great knowledge in cold storage (with artificially coined specialized lingo) with a few elitists callig themselves scientists, but presented it - in a palatable (easy to understand) manner TO ALL AND "SUNDRY".

The Vedas are a collection of various hymns and ritual items rolled into one. They make little sense to the modern world. They are simply from a time and world so distant from our own that most people who read them don't understand what they were for. They are unclear, some of them are strange little stories, others are ritual texts: what to say or sing.They are not much of a base for a faith, and the faith(s) they espose are quite alien to modern Hinduism.

The speaker uses Veda, Vedanta and Bhagvatgita interchangeably. Vedanta means "at the end of veda" and Bhagvatgita is just a small part of epic Mahabharata and has nothing to do with Veda.

the archiologist is right.there is no evidence of an Aryan invasion. you will find cultural continuation. the reason being is because the Aryans brought no culture with them. Maybe it was more of an Ayran migration. but those imigrants brought no culture with them. they adopted the culture that was already established.

Amphotep, I think the implication is that Aryans didn't invade rather they indigenous and originated in India. Besides Aryans are not an ethnic group - it simply means noble ones.

Nice work. But .. What is Vedanta? I found my answer in the Vivekachudamani of Adi Shankaracharya and more especialy in the Ashtavakra Gita which is available in English online. I also recommend The Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda.

To all Hindus. Read the Vedas and Upanishds. Know the truth. Dont get carried away by what others say either Hindus or Muslims. There are english translations on the web freely avialble. Stop aruguements re whihc religion is better or good etc. It is a kiddish thing to do. Religions are thought processes whihc are developed over centuries of knowledge and experience. Hinduism is therefore a Dharma whihc is not referred to one person.
