  • debod e reconocerlo , con el perdon de <3 yngwie malmsteem <3. michael romeo es mas tecnico y mas prodigioso,,

  • cool!!

  • look bikers, im here to hear M. Romeo, not this malmsteen I listenned all day that you are talking about. thank you.

  • I could give a shit about the speed. Lets keep it musical. Honestly the slower speeds are better

  • @ArpeggioFelatio you dont do rolled note arpeggios, rearrange them: parts where you would normally roll can be rearranged with string skipping. You sound the notes by hammering down individual fingers of your fret hand onto the notes you want to play. but you still need to sweep over the strings with your palm of the picking hand to silence the notes afterwards like you do when sweeping. there is a tab for this example, google: "michael romeo betcha cant play this pdf"

  • @ArpeggioFelatio easier than you think. firstly, youll need a guitar that has some very high output pick ups. then take your guitar to the shop, or at your own expense, lower the action (height of the strings from the fret board) to as low as you can get them with out touching the frets. finally, have a sweet, ulta awesome amp+head unit with some good gain and just finger the arpeggio like you normally would. its should ring true.

  • SIMPLY AMAZING!

  • You can beliitle them all you want, but there aren't many players with the level of raw talent YJM and MR share in common.

  • This guy plays too slow

  • @milesmanglos then clearly u havent listened to any Symphony X and your only going off this video. get informed :) then come back to this video

  • @sophimar1 thats a good one;)

  • YJM and Romeo are both fat and both sound the same.

  • So all I need to do is get fat as fuck and Ill be able to jam? doughnuts here I come...

  • i like more michael romeo

  • Don't dizz Michael's appearance! He's a hot guy, but in a big package!

  • I feel bad saying this, because Romeo is an amazing guitarist, but before I knew what he looked like, this is NOT what I expected him to look like haha

  • Michae Romeo vs Ingwie Malmsteen...Who is more fat...sorry..fast?

  • @sophimar1 lol, can't really compare since both of there heights are different. Yngwie is a tall guy and Michael is average. I'd say there the same.

  • @AsmeginDavid right! can't compare...both are diferent, but FAT!

  • @sophimar1 sound like Nintendo music

  • @sophimar1

since when did beethoven soubd like nintendo music? lol.

  • @GoodMetalFTW

    sound, not soubd.

  • @sophimar1 It's Yngwie, not Ingwie you illiterate fuck.

  • @sophimar1 It's Yngwie, not Ingwie you illiterate fuck.

  • @sophimar1 ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, i can't stop laughing!!

  • @sophimar1 you are so fucking stupid man

  • @sophimar1 you are so fucking stupid man, may be they can be fat but they can play 1000 times better than you

  • @MrPacdud like Shawn Lane

  • @sophimar1 speed, creativity, phrasing, tone, expression, compositional prowess, harmonic coherence and understanding, song writing, etc etc etc tips the scales massively to romeo. but don't ever forget how important malmsteen was/is to modern electric guitar.

  • ...is this Beethoven?

  • @RoseCrush yeah its beethoven its from sonatan moonlight 3rd movment i think

  • @RoseCrush

    yeah, it's moonlight sonata.

  • @Fluffypopcicle yea.. it is moonlight sonata 3rd movement.

  • "first things first, do the lick slow at 70" like its still any easier.....eat shit.......

  • Comment removed

  • t a hair cut

  • Get a life and stop posting crap on YouTube videos.

  • You Sir, Are An Idiot

  • @kingCyr16 I acutally have no idea what my original comment was, but it was more than likely sarcastic.

  • holy crap hes good

  • that man staerts the tap with the left hand instead of with the right hand land all the other mortals.

    he fucking rocks

  • "Cool!"

  • Wow he makes it look so easy!! I can almost play this song at 100.

  • Moonight sonata?

  • The MAN!!

  • 1st: his 2nd name is romeO

2nd: it has nothing to do with shredding

    3rd: get better informed

  • Fixed... thx

  • @LikeMadness YOU. get better grammers.

  • this is one of the precious few shred licks that i enjoyed hearing slow, the harmony is that good

  • Michael ROMEO!!!!

    Spell it right!

  • who the fuck is michael ROMER?

  • Homer?!

  • Boner?

  • Lol sounds like final fantasy!

  • i think it's a part of the moonight sonata but I could be wrong

  • sweeeeet

  • lol, ending comment: "cool". Good ole MJR. Love this guy.

  • plz listen to SYLOSIS please!!!

    there too good!

  • this guy is incredible, i heard beethoven's original piece, and i thought to myself, "this could never be played on guitar" i was proven wrong on this day.

  • this is the moonlight sonata, right? 3rd movement?

  • .........cool XD

  • Why is this called Michael ROMER shredding?

i hope you all know its Romeo

  • ROMER in my country's language sounds like HOMER in English...

    MICHAEL HOMER (Simpson)?

    LoL!

  • damn this guy is amazing

  • moonlight sonata 3rd movement its awesome

  • He writes epic albums too, dumb comment

  • Then you don't know what feeling is. You don't become this good without a MASSIVE passion for the guitar, months upon YEARS of practice and a passion for music theory.

seriously man, don't even get me started

  • good thing ive got 2/3

  • It is no use spending years trying to imitate malmsteen.

It is more useful to spend time looking for your own expression.

  • Shredding is having control over your instrument and being free of technical obstacles so your music is not limited by your playing ability.

If that isn't expression, what is? This is a different level of music, not considered the "best", but the most technical. A passion for music theory is in another league on its own.

Do you think Bach didn't have expression or show emotion through his compositions, just because they were fast?

  • YOUR SO FUCKING RIGHT.

Really people seem to not understand, that shred has emotion.

  • His style is NOTHING like malmsteen's....

  • @FoamingGypsy Oh cmon. Its may not be exactly like Yngwies but thats were the inspiration comes from at least.

  • @xPurpleDrinkx9001 Actually, Yngwie was really influenced by Chopin. Which is a different style of musicality than Beethoven, which is what is being played by Michael here. The style isn't the same because Yngwie economy picks and sweeps almost everything. Michael Romeo is big on two-hand tapping.

  • @FoamingGypsy but it's still more harder and evolutionated

  • @FoamingGypsy maybe a little

  • who says super fast guitar players have no feeling? Man, something to has emotion doesnt have to be slow. If you play your heart whatever you play, it has emotion.

And Michael Romeo is not even close to Malmsteen's style. He shares neo classical influences but not even close, check out Malmsteen's style.

Fuck, I hate morons like u that dont know shit.

Listen to Joe Stump he is more like close to YJM.

  • Hey man this is only my opinion, no need to insult. I like the shred but I prefer gilbert, vai, petrucci, satch... and for me they HAVE FEELING. I feel things when I listen their music and no like super fast arpeggios but I repeat it's only my PERSONAL OPINION.

  • That's a true story.

  • Does anyone know what this song is called? I want to learn it Sooo Badly!

  • Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.. 3rd Movement I believe.

The whole riff is derived from that opening anyway somewhat~ Its a very nice piece :]

  • ive heard that, and i get where your coming from. but im almost positive its Prelude in C by Bach. dont quote me on this though. im not absolutly sure. but this sounds like this vid ive seen from this movie where steve vai plays Prelude. and it sounds amazingly similar. but the vid i saw wasnt "tapping" (if thats what you wanna call this) lol. so idk.

  • Hm are you sure?

Are we talking about the Prelude in C Major by Bach? In that case I believe that the moonlight Sonata is more similar than the Prelude.

Send me a message with a link to the prelude, you've sparked my interest haha

  • yeah joe stump is rather pathetic in how blatent a malmsteen wannabe he is. No doubt he has his own merits, but clearly not enough that he can pull himself away from malmsteen.

  • Romeo has the best style for me. He made guitar playing more interesting than all other players. He's inspiration for me ;]

  • very podgy fingers lol

  • Malmsteen has nothing on romeo, romeo is way better

  • Don't make us laugh.

  • I've been listening to Romeo for about a year or so, and people say he's a Malmsteen clone, and to some extent, he is, but he does MANY things that Malmsteen never does (like use more pentatonic scales and tapping like Romeo does) I enjoy them both, but I personally prefer Romeo :\

  • Comment removed

  • Some of you don`t get it.....The fact that he isn`t using Distortion that much just OD, makes IT EASIER! Less string dissonance and stuff like that, it`s very mild and he doesn`t have a lot of things to control.Being so good like Michael is, minor string movement is surely dampened and with od it sounds flawless. The tapping sequence can be found in the ,,Betcha can`t play this" video of him

  • fucking awesome!!!! O.o

  • I play guitar myself, but for me to do that and get all the notes right it would take me about 10 minutes!!! lol

  • Wow,this has to be one of the best tapping ever,I've watched this stuff hundred times and it's still so awesome. Romeo is one of the top 3 guitar players with no doubt...

  • scallopped neck makes it harder to play fast but it makes vibrato and bends much easier. and malmsteen is taking more influence from classical music than other guitarists. =)

  • 1:24

i hope mike won't start losing hair soon

  • yup, hes just like malmsteen... except better...

  • lol, effects and tapping, this guy is a cheap cheater of malmsteen. what do you do when you canät play a scalloped fretted guitar and shred fast and clean.... you tap instead of using the pick

  • uf you know anything about music you would know this guy is better...Plus he has little hands...goes to show that done mean shit. this guys sick.

  • You obviously don't listen to symphony x, lol. Romeo is faster, cleaner, more technical, more original, etc. than malmsteen. don't get me wrong, i love malmsteens playing, romeo's just leagues ahead in terms of musicianship

  • and you obviously don't listen to malmsteen :). or know that it's actually extremly much harder to play by being malmsteen. having a scalloped fretted guitar and a nerve damage in his hand and all. this guy has obviosly stole from yngwie so much, that he has no own style. i've listen to symphony x sometimes, but i hate that kinda music xD. this guy is good, but he wouldn't be anything without malmsteen just as malmsteen wouldn't be anything without hendrix

  • I actually own most of malmsteens albums. Even before nerve damage, malmasteens playing wasn't on the same level as what romeo's is now. Most of malmsteens shredding licks are just linear runs in the phrygian mode, iirc, romeo seems to have more variety in his playing. Again, i love malmsteen, i just think romeo is clearly the more skilled musician. I also think malmsteen drew alot more influence from blackmoor than hendrix, but don't quote me on that :P

  • i was referring to malmsteen pickin up a guitar when hendrix died xD... but allright, music can be intepretated in many ways... personally i think malmsteen is more of a harmonic scale wanker...

  • Yeah man, no point arguing i guess, to each his own, eh? :D

  • You talk about having a scalloped fret board like it makes it harder to play guitar, when if anything, it makes it easier.

    Malmsteen=Cheater ;)

  • lol it doesn't! if you learn from the beginning, how to play with scalloped, then it's easy. but when you never touched a guitar with scalloped frets, you will have a hard time , since you must put alot less pressure.

  • Well I am sure there's a reason Malmsteen did, it doesn't change the sound.

  • it does. and he did it so he could play faster without having to use alot of power. he has a nerve damage. well malmsteen actually cheats as much as this guy, but as i said before, it's a question of personal taste

  • How does Romeo cheat? Because he taps alot?

  • yep, and he has effects making the sound clearer than what it should be, it's easy to notice. try doing the same on a regular guitar without any effects

  • I think there's a lot more to Romeo's technique than abit of reverb tbh.

  • Well it sounds fucky withouth Distortion, so don't do it without effects.

  • Pareku, you SERIOUSLY need to just stop talking, you have absolutley no clue what you're talking about and it's embarrassing for all of us. Michael doesn't use hardly effects or even that much distortion, nor does he use a string dampener like most tappers would. There is so much more to Michael's playing then just tapping as well. His picking is immaculate, his songwriting is superb, and his timing is just unreal. He is so much more fleshed then Malmsteen. And your technique isn't too hot btw

  • couldn't agree more with you.. I just listened to the oddysey intro.. and I still can't believe so much creativity and inspiration in writing the whole orchestral part.. not to mention his perfect technique. I saw this guy live and he plays complicated stuff like he's playing some children tune.. so relaxed and effortless.

  • Quit bitchin'.

  • I dont think Malmsteen wouldnt be anything without Hendrix. Like he has said, Hendrix doesnt have much of musical influence to him, more of the style influence. If there would not have been Hendrix, we might still see Malmsteen on stage doing exactly same stuff he does, but he just wouldnt wreck guitars and stuff like that on the stage.

They are both awesome musicians and my gods, both of them deserve respect. Even when the one is an influence to another.

  • Dude. If it weren't for Hendrix, Yngwie would not have started music at all. He thought music was for pussies. When he saw Jimi burn the guitar he saw how cool it could be. That's why he started at all. So, without Hendrix Yngwie (and a lot of other kinds of music involving distortion and crazy effects) wouldn't exist.

  • Its part of moonlight sonata Beethoven

  • anyone know what hes playing?

  • malmsteem doesn't play like him... he is more booring...

he only play solos.. when he improves..

to me.. romeo is better in every way =)

  • holy SHIT he's fast!!!!

  • fucking s.o.a.b

    he is god man

i wish i could play that clean the tappings as him :(

    lol

  • el tiene el rostro de haberlo practicaod durante semanas

  • SO CLEANN!!!!

    omg...

  • michael romeo!!

  • Michael Romer?

  • Nice

  • omg,its michael romer!!

  • How the hell can you remember your account name? :O

  • It's a number sequence from Porcupine Tree's "Even Less", or "Counting Control" from The Conet Project. I have to look at the lyrics every time I forget it, or just listen to the tracks.

  • hahahahahahaaaa XD

  • michael romeo is dominating that neck

  • Great guitar player!

  • is that michael romeo. if it is he lost wheight

  • la raja!

    bkn!

  • Do it at 800.

  • this sounds so good, it's like vicious

  • Thats kewl it has melody to it. It sucks when a good lick goes to waste because it's been sped up too much. But in this case it was good. It wasn't too fast.

  • u look like yngwie

  • this is a hard riff to play...

  • at 100 bpm sounded the best

  • ahh. Thanks for pleasing my ear pussy.

  • it sounds.... hypnotically beautiful when.. played ......slow

  • my name is michael rohrer haha

  • what do you do with your pick when your tapping

  • hold it with one finger or use the pick

  • Sounded better slow ^^

  • Metronomeonline - Free!

  • ..what is the name of that gadget that beeps?? anyone??

  • metronome.........?

  • Flux capacitor

  • late comment but that is the funniest thing i have ever heard

  • flux capacitor

  • Gadget that beeps, Metronome

  • actually i believe it's a flux capacitor.

  • No, its a thermotransradialmagneto deflector

  • oh i always get my beepy devices wrong.

  • Hey is that an Ibanez RG2EX1?

  • its a custom ESP

  • Actualy it's a Caparison:) Michael's signiture model:)

  • oh yh jesus, how could i forget that!

well he did use 2 use ESP :P

  • Yup, and this month I believe caparison is making replicas of Michael's guitars for sale to the public, same wood pick-ups and everything, 'cept the string gauge that comes on there. :)

Oh, and his sig of course!

  • he sounds like he has a flanger of some sort going thru his sound

  • This is similar to Seven's solo

  • at the end he's just like "cool"
