  • This is a nice one! How did you make the connections?

  • @maxo44 it is a 4mm sheet metal cut with laser.

  • C'est beau ce dome. Je voudrais en savoir quelquechose du point de vue du technique, par exemple comment cela se construit, comment les membres se joignent, comment la peau s'attache, etc.

  • well done

  • "The V4 Geodesic Dome," coming to a theater near you.

  • what about lighitng and hurricanes

  • hello,

i don't understand your question about lighting, about huricane :the spherical shape of a dome make it very strong to hurricanes. The wind just slip on the surface which can 't offer any resistance because of this shape who is not a square.

  • @AngjiDanTomas Both natural phenomenons generally do not affect the structure. As the supports are made of metal and ground at the base, and the wind is directed very effectively around the structure; this it something that cannot be be destroyed by the forces of nature (in general).

  • I was wanting to make a DOME-Greenhouse in the near future and I was wondering how STRONG the plastic is on the outside? Is it strong enough to withstand storms or even hail falling down on it?? This is an issue because my area of the country has bad storms and I want to be sure the covering will be secure.

  • you wont have problem with storm or snow ....the only problem you will have with transparency plastic it wont5 last many years because of the sun.

The UV will distroy slowly the plastic , especialy on the top.

So i advice you to use on the top non tranparent plastic , same stuff then what is used for trucks

  • beautiful work!

  • Very Nice! Just one Question, what kind of Material did you use for the Skin?

  • hello ,

it is a plastic transparent , the same kind used sometimes for cabriolet cars for the back window. The only particularity he is reenforced with a woof of string .

  • Thanks! I'm about to skin a small dome greenhouse made from bamboo... did you use some kind of glue to patch the skin pieces together or sewing?

  • hi, when we talk about plastic there is no need to use glue or sewing, if you have the machine you weld the pieces together. Personaly i don't have neither a sewing machine neither a welding machine, it was a profesional company who does cover for trucks or things like tennis halls etc....

  • Great, thanx for your help!

  • That's amazing, congratulations.
