I think it may happen to every teen. UK, where I live now is not that different. First love, first sex, alcohol, tobacco, bad relationship with parents. everyone go though this. The film obviously dramatises the reality, but in general I think this film is different, from mainstream cinema with it 'reality'. It's definitely doesn't look pre-scripted like Hannah Montana, or High School musical. My kind regards and high respect to the director. Well done :)

@julie101rox well everybody is different and schools are also different, all I can say - this happens.

But I wouldn't go so far as to say it is typical. Many teens in Russia would say their school life was nothing like that. Nonetheless the film reflects a spirit of an average russian school quite accurately - kids often act quite stupid and get into trouble.

@DrBurdock i used to go to school in ukraine not in russia and then when i moved to america i went to sixth grade.... so i kind of wonder if things are really like that in ukraine and russia right now.
