These are darling and no, it's not too much icing!! I make my own icing and you could eat it by the spoonful. (hint: the xmas music is darling in the beginning, but can't really hear what you are saying, I would turn off the xmas music when you begin talking, and then have it lead out at the very end.) Just a big of musical editing advice. :)

good idea, but very impractical! how are you supposed to eat it? You'd have to cut the icing down with a knife and fork before it'd fit in your mouth!!!

Yes, using royal icing instead of buttercream will work really well with a lot of buttercream ideas.
