I don't know how true this is, but a friend told me a LONG time ago that Don Dokken was actually a pretty damn good guitarist, himself, but there wasn't much point in having him play when they had someone as awesome as George Lynch. Funny, my friends that were in bands back in the 80's never really talked about Lynch; it seemed like it took a while for a lot of people to realize how brilliant he was (and still is).

@akibubba1 The only thing I'll disagree with you on is that I don't consider Dokken hair metal. They were/are just a great hard rock band to me. Although Don especially, liked to "glam up" for the camera, ha ha! I was 19 when this album came out in 84 and I wore this cassette out and "Under Lock and Key" was just about as good as this one. I remember buying a copy of the album and the cassette when it came out in September, 85. One for the house and one for the car! Lynch's playing amazed me.

I met George Lynch at a the NAMM show in Anahiem Ca back in 87. The guy was skinny and looked like he weighed all of 160 lbs soaking wet.

Then I saw a video of him working out in some Arizona gym a few years later and the guy looked ripped to shreds and looked like he weighed at least 190. It was quite a radical change. Wonder if he's still pumping the iron.
