I read an interview with George years ago. He said "Those were real Marshalls that they had rented for this video shoot. The helicopter rotor and blade wash made them topple, and they had to replace all the broken amps."
shit!! the music of the 80's is't so pretty damn good, that i just make me hate my fucking generation cuz their so stupid and dont understan what good music is...also the music of 80's is so deep that go direct to the heart and emotions
I don't know how true this is, but a friend told me a LONG time ago that Don Dokken was actually a pretty damn good guitarist, himself, but there wasn't much point in having him play when they had someone as awesome as George Lynch. Funny, my friends that were in bands back in the 80's never really talked about Lynch; it seemed like it took a while for a lot of people to realize how brilliant he was (and still is).
I'am so happy that I could be part of this time !! Just turned into 42 and still love all the Poser stuff of the 80'! Best time of my life !!! Dokken, Ratt, Poison, Mötley Crue and others still kick bunches ass !!!!
@Fasttounge Hey,buddy, don't say "Poser stuff". These guys had more talent than all that musicians that came out from the mid 90's until today. Just listen to Lynch's solos.;)
@MrJackDice didn't ment " Poser stuff " in a negative way ! I still love this kind of music it's ways better than most of the crap these days !! Dokken rulez !!!!

I agree with the waiting on the rebirth of the 80's metal and rock and well anything 80's.Does anybody agree that the 80's music and movies had more heart and soul? When you listened to the music it made you smile and feel good and after watching a movie it made you feel good at the end.Music today all sounds the same and the movies have the same story line OR they revert back to the 80's movies which end up being a crappy remake. What happened to the writers? Where are they now?
easily one of the ten greatest hair metal numbers ever penned. hair metal in general may be the best chance for a "bridge of hope" that the latest generation can use to rid themselves of today's hideous "music", as today's kids aren't expected to understand doo-wop or old pop on a heartwrenching level (lack of life experience for comparison- it's not really thier fault) as always, though-hoping that millions of the under-30 crowd catch on, as you only live once...
@akibubba1 The only thing I'll disagree with you on is that I don't consider Dokken hair metal. They were/are just a great hard rock band to me. Although Don especially, liked to "glam up" for the camera, ha ha! I was 19 when this album came out in 84 and I wore this cassette out and "Under Lock and Key" was just about as good as this one. I remember buying a copy of the album and the cassette when it came out in September, 85. One for the house and one for the car! Lynch's playing amazed me.
@ToddSweeneyOnce cool handle, dude!!-- perhaps you are right that the "hair metal" label cheapens hard rock a bit, since there are hundreds of other bands that are quite good (though few as good as the mighty Dokken)-- I used to do the album&cassette combo thing a bit myself, and ended up with several hundred cassettes -- and, yes, Lynch is ridiculously good !
wow i think they coulda really hit this song a little harder. kinda soft really. waste of a good sound. i always thought they coulda done more with it. felt the same way about winger too
I met George Lynch at a the NAMM show in Anahiem Ca back in 87. The guy was skinny and looked like he weighed all of 160 lbs soaking wet.
Then I saw a video of him working out in some Arizona gym a few years later and the guy looked ripped to shreds and looked like he weighed at least 190. It was quite a radical change. Wonder if he's still pumping the iron.
@nosajj12345 Like Zakk Wylde, they both hit the weights and I think it's a bit over-board, as you can imagine. Well, I got the Guitar Instructional video Starz series or something, one with Michaelangelo and the other with Lynch. He's playing an Aria Pro II series guitar in the vid. If you'll recall, Aria did an ad in print with Yngwie Malmsteen who was in Alcatrazz at the time
One time, me and my friend robbed a drug dealer in his apartment and blew his fucking head off....as we drove away, this song was playing...it was a cold and snowy winter night, early 85...
@crazywerner91 its slowly but surely happening dude, i assure you. bands like crashdiet are gaining more and more popularity, and bands such as steel panther (even though they are parody) are bringing it to the masses. I wouldn't be surprised if in 10 years everyone is teasing their hair again...CANT WAIT!
We all do... watch out for my band to hopefully make it big. were called Moana Leeza. Can you possibly think of a sleazier name than that... didnt think so. we tease our hair, we wear leather, we drink, we smoke and we ARE 80s hair metal... just in the year 2011.
Nope, I'm pretty sure I can objectively call what you said gay, without actually having anal sex. But I could be wrong..
It's not really the 'Drinking and smoking will be the death of you' part that I quarrel with. It's the ''But ROCKING will last forever'' part that was really, super-gay.
@BelfastAtheist You can't argue with the facts, what's bad for you is bad for you, and ROCK MUSIC ain't what I'm talking about. It's not gay, it's a way of life, dude!!
lol, my Brother is gay; as are several of my friends. This may be news to you, but many people use 'Gay' is a vague, perjorative verb - without using it to semantically indicate any undetones of actual homophobia. You really thought that the context I was using it in was homophobic? Or are you just being peevish?
@BelfastAtheist I'm saying being smart means Censoring yourself, all people, all walks of life come to the Internets, I'm over 40, I think I know that, it just is not something I go about practicing
@BelfastAtheist I was born homosexual, but I decided that the desires I had would lead to a life I didn't like, so I changed my desire to that of a heterosexual; even before I found out that homosexuality was a sin, I only wanted to play with the other sins because I knew something was wrong with that one. If that makes me intolerant, I'll be happy to carry that flag. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, read the book sometime.
Do us all a favor, stop with the religious/homophobic bs and just enjoy the video...there's no reason for it here and nobody wants to deal with it (that goes for MetallicBill too)
@crazywerner91 hey man im totally with you, you should check out the band Reckless Love and there song Romance. There the closest thing to 80's out atm :)
don dokken is a fool,he should of did everything in his power to keep this original line up together,i enjoy the heck out of lynch's solos and riffs and the hard pounding drums of brown imo those two made this band great, probably could of had more hits if they'd stay together.
Remember hearing this and seeing the Space Shuttle explode into fire on the news. This song has an intense affect on me in a lot of ways some adrenaline and some more adrenaline. Dokken. Can you dig it?
@lori91hairmetal80 Into the fire was featured in the beginning of nightmare on elm street 3, when Kristen is blasting this song to prevent her from going to sleep.
@kiremi14 amazing comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i'm from italy and for years and years many years before that internet cama! i was obsessed about this song that i heard on nightmare 3,i wrote even to an italian metal magazine to know which was the band but they not response!!
@kiremi14When Kristen is building her little popsicle stick house during the opening credits. That movie is what made me enjoy this song in the first place.
Saw Don and George on That Metal Show waiting for the reunion tour great band only saw then once on the monsters of rock tour back in 1988 at the Akron rubber bowl was Kingdom Come,Metallica,Dokken,Scorpions and Van Halen in that order great show.
Ahh, the legendary George Lynch back in his kajagoogoo days. And Don does have a great voice, but man what a lousy frontman. Guy has zero stage moves. LOL
i saw dokken open for dio in 1984...went backstage and met all the guys they were really cool.. Don dokken is very nice and Jeff Pilson the bassist in this video gave me a beer....i was only eighteen.....rock n roll.
I got to see these guys a couple of years ago with my gf and I'm 17 it was a great experience for me even tho don can't get as high with his voice and George isn't with them!!
I read an interview with George years ago. He said "Those were real Marshalls that they had rented for this video shoot. The helicopter rotor and blade wash made them topple, and they had to replace all the broken amps."

@BelfastAtheist I'm saying being smart means Censoring yourself, all people, all walks of life come to the Internets, I'm over 40, I think I know that, it just is not something I go about practicing
MetallicBill 9 months ago
@BelfastAtheist I was born homosexual, but I decided that the desires I had would lead to a life I didn't like, so I changed my desire to that of a heterosexual; even before I found out that homosexuality was a sin, I only wanted to play with the other sins because I knew something was wrong with that one. If that makes me intolerant, I'll be happy to carry that flag. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, read the book sometime.

Do us all a favor, stop with the religious/homophobic bs and just enjoy the video...there's no reason for it here and nobody wants to deal with it (that goes for MetallicBill too)

don dokken is a fool,he should of did everything in his power to keep this original line up together,i enjoy the heck out of lynch's solos and riffs and the hard pounding drums of brown imo those two made this band great, probably could of had more hits if they'd stay together.

Ahh, the legendary George Lynch back in his kajagoogoo days. And Don does have a great voice, but man what a lousy frontman. Guy has zero stage moves. LOL

@Jaserace1 you dont need stage moves when you have a voice like that haha
