It was a Pacifica, it was probably the 4.0L engine, they do that. They had an issue of spontaneously combusting after being parked for a little while. Kind of like the F-Series issue with the Triton V8. Except Ford fixed it fairly quickly, they didn't leave people hanging like this.
Ok, can you really tell that it was even a Pacifica??? I mean even if it is, it was probably from a cigarette or just a stupid person, I mean how many cars just all of a sudden start on fire?? Even if, it was probably a lemon. IT DOES HAPPEN. Even to Toyotas!!! But whatever, believe what you want, Out of the Last 7 Chrysler I have owned, including a Pacifica, I have never had any issues. My Mother Inlaw's Toyota Corolla is Junk, but there must be a good explaination because its a Toyota, Right??
Hey stuwip839, cars DO catch fire, from many different reasons like electrical shorts and overloads. And I'm gonna go ahead and call BULLSHIT on your cars. First, you're only 21 and have already owned 7 chryslers? Yea, I bet you have. If that is true and you say they're good cars, then why did you need 7 of the pos's in only 5 years of driving? Seems to me you would only need one car to last five years if it's such a good car.
I guess I should have made myself more clear, mentioning that the seven vehicles were withing my family, so for that I apologize. But I do know that cars do catch fire, Im not that dense. But everyone on here was arguing just becauase it was a Chrysler. Big deal. But I mean, thats cool that you creep around on Youtube making absurd comments on peoples opinions. PS, I am on my second Chrysler product just because the first was totalled, and Ive had it for 4.5 years now and no problems. Tool.
HA, the only thing absurd here is you thinking chrysler is a good company, just give it time, someday you'll see how they don't give a shit about their customers.
Well, until that time, I'll continue to purchase them. I appologize that I dont shoot a load over every Toyota or Honda that I see like you apparently do, but I just dont care for them at all, and that is my opinion, which is clearly hard for you to comprehend. So whatever, im not going to sit here and argue with you.
My sister's kia sophia only lasted about a year before the interior started falling apart. This other guy that worked for me had a sorento i think, whatever kia's suv is called, he got two years of use and got rid of it cuz it had so many problems. Both were bought new and had problems that weren't covered under warranty. I've never owned either, Ford all the way!!!
I never understand why people say a car "burns to the ground" Wheres the logic? Was the car up in a tree? Was it a flying car? Spontaneously burst into flames? and "burned to the ground"
I own an 04 AWD Pac, all opts, & never any problems. Best reason to keep it: it saved my life when a semi ran a red light & I swerved to avoid it. It didn't flip over like a regular SUV, it spun around, went down in the ditch, then drove out with the awd. Other than a good washing, it was fine. People who have problems with it probably won't admit to failing to keep it maintained, so they say they have fires, or leaks. As with any car, if you keep it well-kept, it will keep you safe.
update: I got rid of this car. It has had SO many problems. The lifegate is espeacially annoying. If you are tall and go under it, you have to duck your head or you will hit it on hard plastic.... they need to design things better....
the car was better than other cars i've had, but now days, all cars should be perfect for the money.
Disagree on problems: Never had any yet (38k on it). Agree on bad lift-gate design; I'm 6'2" & bash my head sometimes on the gate when open. But, since cars are mechanical, no car will be, or is perfect.
Ah, good old Chrysler and their electrical and fuel rail problems. Oh and the 3.5L V6 engine sucks (the one in the Pacifica). But I love Chrysler anyway.
3.5 engine can't suck too bad since I smoked a '95 Mustang with a 4,900lb SUV! In other words, a little 3.5 v-6 that pulls 2.5 tons dusted a v-8 car that weighs less than 2 tons. And, yes, the other guy WAS trying to outrun me from the light, he peeled out, but I left him in the dust with AWD.
I HAD a 2004 Pacifica! My burned in a fire just 3 days ago....totaled. Still owed money on it. Ins. wants to give me the value! HA! Basically I just spent over 23,000 dollars for nothing. Here I come Chrysler with one heck of a lawsuit! A car with 55,000 miles on it should not just light up like an X-Mas tree with barely a warning. DON'T BUY THIS CAR. IF YOU HAVE ONE....GET RID OF IT!
Can you please contact me about your PAC. I just found out today that the 2007 AWD PAC are a fire hazard as well. I just need to know what was chrysler's position on your case.?
my mom has that car and it is one of the best cars on the road my aunt also had one she was going 70 on the highway and hit the back of an 18 wealler and she live with minamal injerys lets see anyone else driving a diffrent car or truck live my point is is that its a good car
If I were you, I would sell that car immedeatly. We test drove one back in 2004 and it was really nice. But after I read reviews and complaints, I took us down another path. Good luck with your car.
