  • Ain't no other Joe quite like that Joe!

  • One of my favorite songs ever! and I would have to flip a coin between Cocker and Morrison.

  • Sounds like a middlle aged or older growly voiced black jazz singer. Excellent and very unconventional dancing and expressions. Love it.

  • joe COCKer :P btw he is a great singer...

  • BEST version!

  • Yeeesss! very fine indeed!

  • Amazing Joe!!! Can't get enough and listen over and over. Love it! Thanks!!

  • unloved5600 thanks for the heads up. Like I said it's nice to be in good company.

I switched over to "And it Stoned Me" I just can't get enough of that Irish dude.

Caravan backed up by the Band at the Last Waltz show is pretty cool with Van

kicken' out and shit...too late to stop now :)

  • Glen Hansard does a magnificent version of this song as well, but mr Cocker is of course awesome. Saw him live this summer.

  • By the by I loved all of ya' alls comments. Nice to know I'm in good company.

  • What's up with this vid (besides it being Joe) is the band. Incredable groove...Joe got himself a good band...I have run this vid and the original by Van the man back and fourth 50 times. I'm given it to Van cause when he sings "I want to rock your gypsy soul" he just owns it...but I do love Joe...thanks for the post...much pleasure..all the best to you...

  • @geraldmcdonald58 I agree whole heartedly thumbs up to Van The Great!!

  • @geraldmcdonald58 Almost got a reggae flavor going. Pretty cool! Hard to go wrong with either Van or Joe Cocker. Both treasures; gifts to the World from the Music gods. I too prefer Van's version; but this is fun. 30+ years since I first heard it though, Van's version still goes right through me and pierces my Soul!

  • @swiggy58a It's nice to know your in goods company if yoiu know what I mean. I just moved on to "And It Stoned Me" by our boy and while searching for a good version I ran across "Washing Windows". The quintessential funky groove, with perfect lyrics for ad libbing which Van does so much. That was it for the next three hours headphones on and turned up to 9... over and over like a dog going after a bone. Here's one you can check out...

youtubemobygrapreightofive...good band out of the haight

  • @swiggy58a It's nice to know you are in good company. I been listenin' to And It Stoned Me by our boy...soulful...while searching for a good version I stumbled on Washing Windows the quintessintential funky groove. The lyrics are perfect for adlibbing which he always does. Here's an addres for your URL...youtubemobygrapeeightofive...Moby Grape was a group that came out of the Haight back in 66'. 8:05 was my fav...

  • @kev1269 do you know who the lead guitar player is?

  • I don't think that Van minds Joe covering this classic.

  • Joe is the greatest cover artist!

  • By far the best version I've ever heard. But then again, that's Joe Cocker

  • the bassist looks like Jerry Seinfeld

  • @themusicmaker91 ..and the guitar player looks like everyones 8th grade Science teacher.

  • You still got it Joe!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Joe Cocker always performs like someone has just stabbed him in the back with a knife LOL

  • one of the best singers britain and the world has ever had! underrated. Mr Joe Cocker

  • joe cocker can do anything, just like the days of old. TUNE IN TUNE OUT

  • Wonderful version!

  • good one Joe

  • Very nice. But my favorite cover is by Glen Hansard. Check his out. That and his cover of Astral Weeks.

  • Someone said "collin james" was better. Not even close, sorry

  • @strtcrnr I've heard all three versions live, all good but as a live artist Van is a wanker,no respect for his fans whatsoever, love Joe's version but definately Colin James gives it i new lease a life..

  • Another Joe Cocker triumph. Long haired or not much haired, Joe is the best!

  • Comment removed

  • @halbie71 nearly as good ;p

  • Great version of a classic I hadn't heard thanks!

  • Prefer the Van Morrison version but Joe Cocker ROCKS!!!

  • Beautiful but in my opinion the best version is the original: the Van "The Man" Morrison!

I also recommend listening version of Zac Brown Band, she's great.

  • Fantastic, best version of this song ever. Hands down..

  • @strtcrnr here is a better version..:) Don't get me wrong I love Joe thru the roof but check out this version by Collin James... it's awesome..!

I attached it as a video so you should see if the person that hosted this video allows it. If not I recommend do a search on Collins James into the mystic and find the one where he is sitting down playing his dreadnought guitar. You will love it. Peace

  • Thanks for the vid, i listened, not swayed, not even close in my opinion.

  • I keep watching it over and over!! :)

  • Van wrote the song and sang it well on the album, but have youheard him lately? He's a stand-up joke! Here is Joe, about the same age as Van and listen to him sing, great.

  • 2 or more can sing a song. if y'all disagree, take turns; great songs turn out to be bigger than one promoter; joe's got the sea spray comin' round the bow on this one

  • 2 or more can sing a song. if y'all disagree, take turns

  • Maybe the greatest song ever. Look at him. 2:36

  • unbelievable.... van morrison did a marvellous original on this song...but this version is in a league of its own...as if Joe tried to own it.....amazing!!!!

  • @journeyCD Are you serious, have yet to see a version better than Vans', Joes' not bad although but ........

  • I guess this is how it was intended to be sung!

  • @SurroundedByWugs You're fucking high as a nigger if you think that Joe sings this better than Van Morrison. Get a life

  • From 2:25 on he reminds me of a white Fred Sanford.

  • Thank you Joe & Van because this feels just like when I am coming back home to here around the SF Bay.

  • I LOVE this Song...mmmmmmm

  • this guy could sing nutritional facts and make it sound amazing. . .

  • Paul Simon on Guitar by 1:33 ?
