It isn't charging unless the guy takes more than 4 strides. He didn't. A clean hit is a clean hit, regardless of intentions. The refs did not call anything because there wasn't ANYTHING to call on that play. Nothing from behind, no charging, no elbow, no crosscheck. Nothing that warrants a penalty.

Best hit I have seen in a while. Brendan Morrow is a monster. However, Michalek was skating full speed out of the corner. Anytime you smash into something full speed you are bound to get hurt. That is what happened here. Brendan did the stand up thing and kept it clean.

FYI, Michalek ended up with only a bruised shoulder. Secondly, go check the top 10 Scott Stevens hits here. Six of the victims- Kariya, Kris King, Daneyko, Francis, Kevyn Adams, and Shane Willis were nowhere in a scoring position, but they are all legal hits.
Playoff hockey is not about hitting someone in a scoring position, but about sending a message. Morrow sent a clear message that the Stars were going to come out in OT and they did.
