Space was the only real reason why I played swg anymore, TOR can't even compare to it with their rail/arcade system. The only other game I can think that had GOOD free roam flying and loot was space cowboy now known as ACE online. The 2nd being EvE online, but it's p2p and ACE is f2p. I was running on free months since i was a vet, every other month i got free time I haven't p2p SWG in 2 years, wasn't worth it to me especially with the TCG. That's why I refuse to sign the petition, TCG is crap.
@MrKabutoYakushi Yes I really want to play an MMO where I have to listen to 50+ conversations everytime I do a quest. It will be so much fun doing yet another quest grind in another MMO. You know what they said about end content? Make a new character, how the fuck is that acceptable?
@commandermike117 Sounds like you have a joystick or controller plugged in to your PC, unplug it and try launching into space again. If it's the mouse cursor moving around press alt to make it stick.

Well you can't do everything but you can do a lot :) it's quite fun, SWG is very customizable with gear and appearances.

@spiritofthewolf15x There is the joystick you can use, as for the keyboard, W = Speed Up S = Speed Down A = Turn Left D= Turn Right. Q and E does a roll left or right.
My suggestion if you use a keyboard, is to use the mouse to turn, W and S for speed control and use Q E to roll. You don't turn very fast so the best way to turn is to roll to the side and pull the mouse either back or fourth (depending on what way you want to turn). It's the fastest way, A and D are useless to be honest.

@mouse746 Yeah it releases the cursor for movement, press it again to make the mouse turn the vehicle again. The alt button is used for like, if you want to navigate in your inventory to delete to use something.

It's a damn shame you have to regrind piloting when you switch from rebel or imperial ace, they should have just had it so if you switch faction the ships you can use switch too. I guess the double xp thing makes it easier in the end but still. Most stuff just seem to be one grind after the other in SWG.

The Firespray is roughly between 8-15 million credits for the chassis depending on the quality of the chassis and what server you play on. I know that probably means nothing to you since you don't play it, but most other chassis (ship frames, aka ships) cost between 80k credits to as much as 1 million credits, for chassis crafted with high mass. So 1 million would be the highest you see a ship, and the KSE firespray goes for at least 8 million, that should give you an idea.
Yes and no, still a lot of frustrations with the game but you can have a lot of fun if you're in a good guild. :) The community you're in makes a huge difference really and once you get some rares collected you're pretty much hooked!

Something that always bothered me, pissed me off was the fact that the KSE Firespray wasn't a free-roaming ship (Leave ship station)! It should have been, as in the books , in EU, it clearly has plenty of room, it has multiple floors. It was such a disappointment for me!
Aye know it all too well, you used to be able to make some easy credits but since TCG it's been increasingly difficult unless you spend loads of RL cash on booster packs.
Yeah, can't customize it much though. It's only different colour patterns and colours, there is different engines, boosters, weapons bolts and cannons though depending on the parts you use for your ship. You could have purple bolts if you wanted for example or there is a few rare ones that look quite odd. Can also outfit it with missiles and stuff like that, though you'd need a heavy ship like the Firespray to be able to stick it into the ship.
the capacitator, it's the energy of the blaster. What you can do is a capacitator overload while in space through your droid commands, upgrade the cap or take a laser that takes less energy per shot.
Was quite a long time ago, I think it's a crafted engine rather than a looted one. At the time we didn't have the collection stuff either. It worked for PvE but not much else, sold it or rather traded it by now. :P I fly my V-Wing instead which is a brill ship!

Depends what you want to do, the Firespray is quite bulky. For those that enjoy heavy ship, it's a fun ship to fly but it takes a lot of practice to learn to fly it. You're basically a very big target, I only really PvE'd with mine.

Yeah there are, quite a lot actually. People are just spewing bullshit since they hate SOE. The game is very alive and alot better than most think. There are dead servers however since the free server transfers, just be sure to pick the heavy/medium ones when you logon.
It's like 14$ per month I think, might be less now. There is quite a few still, though you have to pick the heavy servers. Starsider is the biggest server but it also crashes a lot due to it. Then you have Euro-Chimaera and Bria. There is a few others but I don't know which to recommend for you. Just make sure you pick the right servers as they had a free server transfer a while ago which removed population from a lot of the smaller servers.
Aww well there is alot of people willing to help you out you could go to the official SWG forums, just do a search for SWG discussion on google and look for the tansarii station forum :) there is also people who will help you on your server. Look for a Helper title above their head :)
No worries, well I'm currently an Imperial Bounty Hunter, I was Rebel for a long time. Just temporarily switching inbetween to get some stuff I want right now. And my pilot faction is RSF so I'm Neutral/Imperial in space. :)
the KSE Firespray? You can get it by buying it from a player Shipwright Crafter. They normally cost like around 10mil. Varies inbetween depending on the server and seller.

Don't think there ever will be one sadly, maybe sometime in the future but I wouldn't keep my hopes up. They have added gunboats to the game which are massive, anyway there is a Star Destroyer you can board in SWG. It's an instance, an heroic instance. Pretty fun and quite amazing to explore.
i was told that the kse was a piece of shit and hard to handle. is that true? because looking at the vid it looks exactly like the tie bomber, which is what i used for 30% of my missions in space. but still i WILL own one for the simple fact of me being able to say "i've flown the firespray" i would like to fly every ship in the game at least once
Yeah it is a real royal bucket to fly, wouldn't surprise me if it handles like a TIE Bomber. It needs very high PYR on the engine to handle well. I had like 75 PYR on the engine I use in this video. It is one of those ships you just gotta try for yourself hehe :)
A few other items to know about the KSE, it weighs less than 300,000 mass so ur parts for it have to be light and powerful. You cant fly a KSE until u are lvl 10 ace in any faction.
The engine is the most important piece, if you have a joystick for the game, you would want ur engine stats to have YPR's of 75 or better. The reason for the high Ypr's is the whole ship will feel like a ROCK without these stats.
Aye it's very heavy in the back, well if you have a scroll on your mouse you can zoom out and in with that one. Not sure what you have to do if you don't have it, you will probably need to look in your keymap options and reassign some action to another key.
You buy them from shipwrights or get the free version from a pilot recruiter. Just ask around IG or get that IG mail you get from all the pilot factions.

the capacitator, it's the energy of the blaster. What you can do is a capacitator overload while in space through your droid commands, upgrade the cap or take a laser that takes less energy per shot.

Was quite a long time ago, I think it's a crafted engine rather than a looted one. At the time we didn't have the collection stuff either. It worked for PvE but not much else, sold it or rather traded it by now. :P I fly my V-Wing instead which is a brill ship!

Yeah it's Slave 1. But the model of the ship is called KSE Firespray. Just like how the Millenium Falcon is a YT model ship.
Plus Slave II looks different than this.

Depends what you want to do, the Firespray is quite bulky. For those that enjoy heavy ship, it's a fun ship to fly but it takes a lot of practice to learn to fly it. You're basically a very big target, I only really PvE'd with mine.

ill probably never pvp in space, because most of the time the ships are most likely going to be the a-wing, i forgot the name but its the one that anakin used in the beggining of episode 3, and other small ass targets lol, i cant get enough money in swg for re'd parts, so does it move like the y-wing, or tie bomber? or a bit more manueverable?

i like the music in the beginning. i went to ord mantell deep space in my m3-a scyk (that's the ship u start out with on tansarii station) and i got owned by some tier 7 hutt transport. he killed me in two hits rofl.

I'm installing this trial game now, but I am going to buy the game but people say this game is died. I don't really see how this can be it's just like wow but star wars and more intense action, does anybody know if there are people playing this game still?

Yeah there are, quite a lot actually. People are just spewing bullshit since they hate SOE. The game is very alive and alot better than most think. There are dead servers however since the free server transfers, just be sure to pick the heavy/medium ones when you logon.

It's like 14$ per month I think, might be less now. There is quite a few still, though you have to pick the heavy servers. Starsider is the biggest server but it also crashes a lot due to it. Then you have Euro-Chimaera and Bria. There is a few others but I don't know which to recommend for you. Just make sure you pick the right servers as they had a free server transfer a while ago which removed population from a lot of the smaller servers.

Ahh an Imperial Pilot! Well I got her from a player :) bought it off the bazaar. You should be able to fly one once you master piloting :)

Aww well there is alot of people willing to help you out you could go to the official SWG forums, just do a search for SWG discussion on google and look for the tansarii station forum :) there is also people who will help you on your server. Look for a Helper title above their head :)

No worries, well I'm currently an Imperial Bounty Hunter, I was Rebel for a long time. Just temporarily switching inbetween to get some stuff I want right now. And my pilot faction is RSF so I'm Neutral/Imperial in space. :)

* Imperial pilots contact the Imperial Claw Station, Endor System (Nearest Hyperspace Point: Durillium Sea)
* Freelance pilots travel to the Last Nav Station, in the Dathomir System (Nearest Hyperspace Point: Dathomir's Vitality)
* Rebel pilots contact the Deep Space Station, Dantooine System (Nearest Hyperspace Point: Dantooine's Wrath)

the KSE Firespray? You can get it by buying it from a player Shipwright Crafter. They normally cost like around 10mil. Varies inbetween depending on the server and seller.

It should be somewhere in options, not sure exactly where but keep flipping through it until you get something called Cockpit view or similar.

Don't think there ever will be one sadly, maybe sometime in the future but I wouldn't keep my hopes up. They have added gunboats to the game which are massive, anyway there is a Star Destroyer you can board in SWG. It's an instance, an heroic instance. Pretty fun and quite amazing to explore.

i was told that the kse was a piece of shit and hard to handle. is that true? because looking at the vid it looks exactly like the tie bomber, which is what i used for 30% of my missions in space. but still i WILL own one for the simple fact of me being able to say "i've flown the firespray" i would like to fly every ship in the game at least once

Yeah it is a real royal bucket to fly, wouldn't surprise me if it handles like a TIE Bomber. It needs very high PYR on the engine to handle well. I had like 75 PYR on the engine I use in this video. It is one of those ships you just gotta try for yourself hehe :)

A few other items to know about the KSE, it weighs less than 300,000 mass so ur parts for it have to be light and powerful. You cant fly a KSE until u are lvl 10 ace in any faction.
The engine is the most important piece, if you have a joystick for the game, you would want ur engine stats to have YPR's of 75 or better. The reason for the high Ypr's is the whole ship will feel like a ROCK without these stats.
I used to be a master Shipwright for 3 yrs.

Aye it's very heavy in the back, well if you have a scroll on your mouse you can zoom out and in with that one. Not sure what you have to do if you don't have it, you will probably need to look in your keymap options and reassign some action to another key.

You buy them from shipwrights or get the free version from a pilot recruiter. Just ask around IG or get that IG mail you get from all the pilot factions.
