  • Just thought i'd say my grandmother is a plott and my grandad his family brought the plott hounds over from europe my grandad died but my my grandmother is still alive and lives across the street from my parents on Plott creek road on Plott mountain in Western NC cool huh

  • Perfect video to represent the speed, agility, courage and plain stubborness of Plotts. I just rescued one 2 weeks ago and cannot believe how agile and fast he is. Our Plott is a stray from L.A. that made his way up to Washington state and now in seattle with me. Long trip but he's got a great home now. He had worms, underweight and a few scrapes and such but I know in a month or two, "Wally" I call him, will be running around frustrating dogs like Harry does. Great video thank you.

  • Harry is a beauty! Lost my first one to epilepsy. Had nvr heard of them till him. They are the best dogs in the world. I had never seen a dog move like him before. Harry here is awesome! Thanks for sharing this. He sure gives those labs a run doesn't he? I also had a big ol' black lab who helped raise the Plott. As a pup he was "a bit" energetic. The lab showed him how to behave. Have 2nd Plott now who was about to get put down. Folks couldn't keep her but flew her to me from Tex. to Calif.

  • I have a Plotthound, her name is Kennedy. She has epilepsy so she has to take medication every day but shes so sweet!

  • Is he supposed to be eating that stick?

  • @jessicaxosmile dogs and especially puppies like to chew on sticks. I let my 6 months old Kuvasz puppy to chew on stick for few minutes :-)

  • rescued a plott /greyhound mix from medina, ohio. Picked up as a stray by animal control. 3 different owners. separation anxiety issues with the dog were apparent. she's mine now in a good home. she's wonderful! good with kids and my 2 cats 2 other dogs.

  • Great dog! They do love to chase bears and chew sticks! Harry Plotter is one good dog and perhaps the labs keep him in check! All dogs look so healthy and happy. Lucky dogs, especially Harry! Glad he got a great home.:)

  • Wow ya wanna know why you found that dog? It was doing what it was bred to do hint and trail things not chew on sticks

  • Just adopted a dog rescued in North Carolina. Couldn't figure anything beyond "hound" for her breed. Looked up some info due to her blonde brindle, and came across this video. It's our Lily, just a little larger and darker! What a great dog.

  • Hey, this is a incredibly stupid question but if I upload a video of my dog, do you think you can tell me, in your opinion, if you think he is a plott hound or not? We adopted him from the local shelter and man, does he ever look exactly like your dog! The ears are probably a .5-1" shorter but I think he is a plott. Let me know what you think!

  • This is an interesting dog.

  • looks just like our dog. named her HONEY. loves the water and is very affectionate as in crawling in your lap and licking you all over. enjoys hogging the bed also.

  • Rescue dogs rule.

  • I have a half plott hound half lab who is the same way with STICKS! He hates tennis balls, but goes crazy for sticks! Check out my vids to see him. :-)

  • He looks just like our boy Hector (see "Plott Hounds of Fire" video). He loves sticks and uses his paws the same way. All Plotts must be unbelievable pets because he's the best as well. And strong. He likes his sticks BIG and I've seen him carry LOGS for sticks ( one was water logged and I swear it weighed over 50 pounds) for long distances while yelping and asking for us to throw it.

  • We rescued a Plott Hound in 2003 and she could barely stand. We named her Hathaway as she likes to sing just like Donny Hathaway :). Although she is almost 10 now she still whoops up and runs circles around the young dogs. My favorite dogs ever~ Thanks for posting. We are in Washington state too, and have only seen a couple of Plotts in our years of having one. warm regards

  • Great Video. Harry is in Great Shape. We recently adopted what we feel is a purebred Plott from a local shelter. He is 6 months old now and loves to chew sticks every chance he gets. I was cracking up when i saw harry do it as well. My Plott looks identical to Harry just in a 30 lbs version. I never heard of Plotts before we adopted and i cant believe how great these dogs are. He gets a ton of compliments and is so well behaved. Best of luck, great you rescued him back to health.

  • It wasn't until today that our baby is more then likely plotter hound as he looks VERY much alike your pup :) My other half met our baby's mom (german shepard; but was told he was shepard/lab/greyhound mix). He's a beaut as w/ your two labs!

  • meant to add: barks alike your pup, loves the big fat sticks, and has that wavy hair streaking down the middle of his back... similar paws, hind body... LOL and even sneeze :)

  • He looks exactly like my plott, she schools the neighborhood labs just like he does. We rescued her from a local shelter, I could not imagine a better dog. They are so loving and loyal the best dog I've ever had. I'm surprised they dont get more recognition for being a super breed.

  • Beautiful dog! Love how he fakes out the labs - nice moves :)

  • We got a half Plott half Golden retriever a few months back. He favors the plott side. Same brindle color coat only just a bit longer. Same characteristics....even the same taste for sticks. I just fell in love with the breed. Wonderful dogs. You look like you have a happy pack o' pups there. :)

  • Thank you! Everyone who meets Harry just can't help falling in love with him. He's happy, energetic, extremely healthy and always up for a good run, swim or romp. I wonder if they're all like Harry or if I just happened to get a good one.

  • Well just from the video, I think you got a one hound with a unique personality. Seems amazingly intelligent and sweet. I'm thinking that kind of good dog loyalty and amiable obedience has to be a general Plott trait. I've never had a dog as wonderful as our Plottoriffic Roman. I'm hooked now.
