Saw this band live at the Town and Country club in London, 1981 ish. Fantastic live performers - thought the balcony was going to collapse when they played this and everyone jumped up and down at the same time.

Pelican west is one of the greatest pop works ever made. Still sound fresh and original after years and is definitely standing the test of time. I also appreciated Nick Heyward's solo projects but this stuff was kinda magic.

@pigknuckles211 it does a little bit, but this genre was referred to as white funk, or just new wave. the horns make it seem like ska but the beat isnt really right for ska and all jamaican music forms change on the beat.
