Understood. but they used the same concept but on lower speeds to make it their own. dont get me wrong. Volvo's are great cars, i would chose one of these over a toyota or hyundai.
@brandon671 Merc's system is irrelevant here. It needs cruise control to be activated. In any case, yes MB might have been first to offer it on production models, but just about every manufacturer has a version of it now.
City safety is different in that cruise control is NOT activated for it to work. Once city safety is on, the driver still has full control of, and responsibility for the throttle input. The system works by overriding that input when a potential collision is detected.
Go volvo! Volvo's are very nice, it just makes me mad that other car companies copy their ideas, this will probably eventually be on some acura or something.
Yea... FYI, Jap cars are not crap nowadays... Have a taste on Chinese made cars... and you will know what I mean... It's like driving in wheelbarrow... lol... Nothing outside, nothing inside...
haha yeah drop your hands off the wheel and show you're not braking because you brake with the feet lol

Mercedes was the first to invent this, called Radar guided cruise control, and does not break abruptly. Get a benz.

Mercedes radar cruise control is for higher speeds like on 45MPH and up.
