If I'm not mistaken radiation rises the amount of free radicals in the body thus damaging cells and DNA however free radicals can be reduced by antioxidants so if you balance the two you should be fine

I think the people who live their adapted to the fall out just as the animals do. They have a better diet then most americans do. So I think what might be keeping them alive is their consumption of plants because the plants reduce and destory radiation. The radiation on someone who does not live their would give them cancer eventually soon because they don't have any in them.

very interesting, the old lady is wonderful and the soup looks inviting, these are strong people, however still no nuclear energy for me thanks. I prefer a little poorer economy than to play with our health like that.
