I really didn't enjoy this film and yet have just purchased the blu ray. Partially out of curiosity as to whether the extended cut makes it a more enjoyable experience, and partially because it's so epically dreadful I'm not entirely sure I didn't dream it.
Another great review, that I completely agree with. I didn't even have high hopes for this, and it still let me down. If it was like Drive Angry and was nicely over the top and didn't take itself seriously then it would've been fun, but like you said too serious, dull, and depressing. Oh well.
The film is actually all about SweetPea. Her story, her destiny. It just so happens to be framed from Babydoll as the leading lady.
Babydoll is in fact a "guardian angel". As the narration states, one day it might look like an old man (wiseman) the next a girl. For Sweetpea, her guardian angel takes the form of Babydoll and the grey haired wiseman.
There's so much symbolism in this film that I find it very interesting
I really liked the movie because it dealt with dreams/surreal/alternate very interesting realities becuase everything and anything can be used as an explaination for something becuase the film is limitless in possibilites being completly open to an individual's interpretation.
Yeah, just another viewer who looks at the surface and refuses to think on a deeper level. Sorry, this wasn't another movie that spoon feeds you everything. I know it seemed that way from the previews (I expected as much) so it must be frustrating for some going in and realizing they actually need to use their brain.
@abramreyes whoa whoa, i'm very willing to look at the deeper meaning of films mate, deffo, i just personally felt this didn't have one, if you did thats fine too
I feel exactly the same way, Emily Browning (main girl) was all set for fully naked, then they decided to make the film a 13 or whatever in america, making a film what should of been meant for adults, for kids. Film sucked, didnt like watchmen, God help the new superman Snyder is directing....

I fucking hate this movie with passion.
It looks like the retarded shithead girl version of Terry Gilliam's "Brazil". That's a much better movie...
