Clever but not RWD. I'd like to see someone with the time, skills & money to make a Maxima RWD. It's not out of the question since they share similar underpinings with the G35/350Z. You would most likely just have to modify the exhaust tunnel to accomodate the drive shaft & find a G35 part out somewhere:)

the other part is fabbing up motor mount mounting points in the engine bay for the longitudinal setup

and you would probably have to cut out the floor pan in the trunk so you could position the gas tank to clear the subframe. if you want a north/south engine layout youd have to completely re do the transmission tunnel, may as well keep it east/west and go AWD. most of the time when you convert an fwd car to rwd you're cutting out shitloads of metal and using very little of the stock setup. not really worth it on a maxima imo. look up the colt/mirage AWD conversion, only one i'd consider doing.

@ludeluvr a guy across the street had a car being worked on by a friend (meanwhile i was puttin new coilovers on my 97) and the dude came over and we were talkin and he said he works at "biggs auto" which i looked up but could not find lol) but he said a friend of his had a max -4th gen like mine- that he converted to rwd using all 350 parts eng tranny driveshaft etc he said lota cutting and welding as well as interior mods too to accomadate the trans (sounded plausible) but still think hes fos
