  • When he said "sample", he said "sam" instead of "sa:m" - LOL

  • @csywashington no :) its a tap/trill

  • some are not correct, please consult with Native English Speakers from both UK and USA before you post or teach others.

ON9

  • London (not Cockney) 同 Oxford accent 有何分別?

  • What do you mean by "The car is broken"?

  • US ascent is definately easier to be understood by non native english speakers....

  • dak dak dak dak dak

    support!

  • 英式口音扮嘢? well, i'm sorry that you feel that way

  • @wongpaksum sexy or not I can't really comment, but "arrogant" might seem a little "discriminating" to some, that's all...

also depends on what character you're saying it as, e.g. a friend saying that is ok, but a teacher, can be a little bit ... odd... oh well, never mind, it maybe just me being awkward here :)

  • 得唔得alright? thats what people say all the time

  • @Tommywoohoo

  • @ArthurDeBisu

  • Siu Sir, I just moved from Bath (UK) to Toronto (Canada), been living here for about half a year but still not able to adapt the Canadian accent which is quite annoying, not mention my speaking, sometimes I don't even understand what they are saying. Your vid about different accent do help me on improving my Canadian english ( which obviouly is pretty similiar to American english). Thanks for your patient teaching!

  • @kattyty Canadians from Ontario are ten times more clear spoken than many of the Brits, unless they speak with a received accent. I honestly can't understand why you have problem comprehending them.

  • @alvindurochermtl Well, it only makes sense that if her first language is not Canadian English, she's going to have difficulty adapting to a new accent... What's so hard to understand? And to other English speakers of the world, we Canadians may just be as "difficult" to comprehend.

  • @amiu86 No way, unless the Canadian concerned is a Newfie.

  • I prefer american accent.

  • i like british accent more than american accent :D

  • @LuvKaysley american:harry padder

    british:harry potter

  • Comment removed

  • i find tt british accent is more sophisticated than amercian accent ...and amercian is more casual ?

  • u ask me "得唔得"?

  • 得呀 :D

  • Wow! I wonder what's all that junk on your desktop...

  • I fell in love with a British boy... and fell in love with British accent too!!!!!!

  • i hate saying words with glottal stop !! like an idiot !! hope the glottal stop will never popular in HK !

New England (Boston) accent, New York accent, southern accent, midwest accent, west coast accent....

    support!!

  • b.s.

  • "A lot of" 美音,T 音應該較似 D 音,如果唔係,lot 讀美音,然後拖 T 音好奇怪。

  • good job

  • thanks---- it helps a lot

  • not all the /o/ (can't type it) in british is converted to /a/ in american accent.....

I think it's easy to tell the difference from movies & news!

  • it's interesting. coz i'm now living in the US and my friends always say that i have a little bit of british accent. maybe because hong kong use to belong to UK, and we learn the British English.

  • This is quite interesting and precise.

One time I was in Hong Kong and told my relatives I'm waiting by "Harbour" City. I pronounced all the R's as I've lived in the US for a long time. They had no idea what I'm talking about until I spoke the UK version of "Harbour"!

  • ya haha..i do speak wa,er

  • Those glottal stops sound quite funny to me. And I've noticed many of them after watching your video.

  • I support your theory, Sharing your knowledge with other people is awesome, you're the best. I know there is a difference between Amercian accent and England accent but I just can't tell the difference but now I know Thanks!!

  • it must not be from a local American's Speaking. I really think you recorded it by using your "Americanized" accent, isnt it? I can even hear the HK accent inside.
