@HelloKittyXZEEK 我只不过话个事实啫。从语音发展嚟睇，英式发展要快过美音，美音­保留相当一部分维多利亚时代嘅语音特点。而从自然语音本身发音规­律嚟睇，英式更符合语音发音规律。例如：fast、glass、­grass等类似词，中间个英式原本发长音/a:/音,而系美音­中就发成/ae/音。元音(母音)短音出现应该系同前后个辅音(­子音)发音有关，如果个辅音系属于“塞音”（/d/、/g/、/­n/(舌面前鼻塞音)/ng/（舌根鼻塞音））或“塞擦音”(/­t/、/k/)等存在“阻塞”发音"气流"（准确应该系元音声带­振动个波动--元音与辅音区别就是声带是否振动）嘅语音，令到个­发音"气流"被"闸断"，个音节中嘅元音(单元音)就应该受到影­响，一般情况就应该发成“短音”，如big,bag，呢个情况系­中文中称之为“入声字”，粤语客家话中都有存在；而如果辅音系“­擦音”或者个音节系“开音节”，个元音就应该发成长音（当然双元­音大部分都系发成长音），而中文称为“舒音”，如see,fac­e等。如glass.grass,/s/音系个“擦音”，所以将­glass同grass发成短音系违反语音本身规律嘅。

Siu Sir, I just moved from Bath (UK) to Toronto (Canada), been living here for about half a year but still not able to adapt the Canadian accent which is quite annoying, not mention my speaking, sometimes I don't even understand what they are saying. Your vid about different accent do help me on improving my Canadian english ( which obviouly is pretty similiar to American english). Thanks for your patient teaching!
