After America defeats a country in war we force the country to accept our peace terms. These terms almost always include permanent military bases in said country, it's so we can deploy around the world quickly, it's called "projecting power". I'm pretty sure we have so many troops in Germany due to it's relatively close location to the middle east(compared to the us). Nice vid btw I legitly thought you were for real until you put on that hat.
@ParaSpite yep is true and he forgot to mention other countries like Colombia and Puerto Rico. they have troops stationed in more than a hundred countries worldwide
@ParaSpite actually it's that many after the US removed most of its European troops after the cold war ended - it used to be FAR more. Interestingly, the country with the most tanks in Europe is.... America... despite Europe having 3 of the worlds top 10 strongest military's

Americans are so fucking dumb. The media portrayal of the tea party is an insult to anyone who has a clue . Some people actually think Palin is a conservative.LOL You people make me PUKE. Government programs and their silly wars are killing us. BTW, the tea party was started by people who oppose the war.Do yourself a favor and get your info somewhere besides a TV. The tea party was started by Ron Paul supporters who are ,and always have been, against the war.
@MrSafetymeeting You're right. The tea party started around the time the government was bailing out the financial and auto industries. It started out with the best of intentions, but has captured the hearts of mostly fanatical conservatives. The Tea Party now stands for the exact things the GOP stands for, just more on an extreme level. While some conservatives were willing to work with the dems raising the debt roof, the tea party politicans were united in saying no.
@adorablecreature79 The name "Tea Party" is so unbelievably stupid on so many levels and is so telling of the mindset of those who endorse that I dont care what it used to stand for, because I can write it off as a joke immediately.
"Teabagger". HOW original. I mean come on atheists, all of this mental superiority you guys have over everyone else, and "teabagger" is the best thing you can come up with?
@ihateneveen Ohh.. my dear. Using dirty words as "jacking off". Sweet! Arent you the most lovingly little angry naughty girl here at the tube. So - please.... do more of your naughty-naughty-dirty-badass talk to me. Love.

Religion is a joke. How people can believe that shit is mind bending. Fortunately more and more people are coming to this conclusion. Britain is well on its way and the USA isn't far behind. Nice one Eddie.
wonder EDDIE i mean really, have you ever been teabagged? I hope not. I saw that Hustler Mag. inside your Bible. So don't let me hear one of your buds tea bagged you.
Well thats not very christain. or charitable. Not thinking about the poor? Killing others? isnt that murder? Oh dear. Isnt thats what the victorians thought, that poor people were lazy? little outdated... seriously. Wanting others to die just because they dont believe in the same thing as you? do you seriously think that is what jesus would of wanted? I know, lets go and kill loads of inocent people for believeing in what they want and lets just forget the poor....seriously. shut the fuck up!
While I agree that most Tea Partiers are hypocritical when it comes to spending since they want to spend it in Iraq and Afghanistan, you can't paint all religious people as Tea Partiers. . Most Tea Partiers that support cuts to domestic spending while supporting war spending are radical Christian Zionists, the so called "Evangelicals", like Hagee and his flock of sheeple. They are heretics and are not Christian, real Christians oppose them. Obama is also a Christian too.
Urban dictionary: teabagging - insertion of one man's sack into another person's mouth. Used as a practical joke or prank, when performed on someone who is asleep, or as a sexual act.
Exampel:
At the frat house last night, when Tim was wasted an down on the floor, he got teabagged by, like, ten guys!
Me and Jen were teabagging last night when her mom walked in. Awkward.
So. Teabagging for Jesus. Swallow a mans sack to spread the lords word.
So basically putting money towards killing people is more important than helping the less fortunate have a decent standard of living. God bless America.
The Tea Party is like a spoiled child who has had his way for as long as anyone can remember, usually at the expense of others. But the parents have started to realize that they need to get their child under control, so they tell him to share and play nice with the other kids.
We've all seen this before - either a family you know personally, or just in public; either way, we all know what happens next too.
The kid throws the biggest fucking temper tantrum you've ever seen.
It is true though, Christianity is actually utterly and completely incompatible with capitalism.
Which means that according to the bible the vast majority of American Christians (And western christians in general) is going to hell. Believing won't help according to the bible either. You'd just be called a hypocrite by god and tossed in hell anyway.
So those people who believe the bible is the word of god and all true... Well they'd BETTER sell all their possessions and give it to the poor!
I heard that the "eye of a needle" passage actually refers to a very narrow and cumbersome-to-travel-through-on-camel street in Jerusalem or something like that. Extremely entertaining video.
Google “Are Evangelical Christians Warmongers” by Pastor Chuck Baldwin about Israel and America’s undeclared wars and how the government uses fear to manipulate Americans.
Nice. BTW: the camel thing is a very, very old translation error. In the original Hebrew(?) it says "marine rope" that will enter an eye of a needle. Makes a lot more sense, doesn't it? ; )
Guys like this are just furious that Christians don’t think man on man ass tickling is a virtue! For all you bleeding Liberal cum rags on here with your framed GED’s hanging above your minimum wage paycheck from Arby’s; put the bong down for once and read a fucking book not written by a Comedian! Liberalism doesn’t reduce poverty; it guarantee’s it. In any event; Jesus advocated effective individual love and charity out of free choice, not destructive Government redistribution out of force.
@Drudy90 When you say “just curious,” do you mean that like bi-curious? What do I have against Homos? What do you have against Rednecks? I mean I loved the attempted, heartfulled speech at the beginning about how it is intellectually dishonest to pass judgment on an entire group of people; followed by the allencomassing insult: ‘dumb rednecks.’ I don’t like Liberals; and I’m not a butt-wad. Therefore, just like you; I have no problem criticizing thems.
@mdstalla I said "discrimination" not judgement. I'll judge dumb rednecks all day, but unlike you I won't try to deny them any rights or freedoms based on my contempt. That's the difference between you and me.
@Drudy90 And I thought our divide was that you smoke skin missiles and I don’t (I mean that judgmentally, not discriminationally). Save me the sob story of your uphill struggle for equality in this cruel/oppressive country. I can’t turn on the TV without seeing a celebration of some fabulous butt detective flipping a home! But the country still unanimously agrees that there are some rare intuitions that are important enough as to not be compromised by the childish demands of finger smellers.
@mdstalla Keep in mind with all your clever name calling that I never said I was gay. I'm actually a straight man with many gay friends and I'd like to see them have the same rights that I enjoy. And what makes heterosexual marriage so sacred? The divorce rate is over 50%, Larry King is on his 9th marriage, and Tiger Woods had affairs with over 50 women. And people like you argue that gays are a threat to the institution of marriage. (P.S. Discriminationally is not a word)
@Drudy90 How about polygamy? Is that a right? How about a legal union between a dude and a Clydesdale? Why can’t a Redneck like me marry my own sister? To say that there is no difference between a man and a woman except body parts is false. Both parties bring something important and unique to the child-rearing table; that Siegfried and Roy couldn’t. Yes, marriage is abused but for every example you gave there is 10 amazing stories of a man and woman who made it work.
@mdstalla So I take it you're in favor of CPS taking children away from widows and widowers? Single parents should lose their children? Lots of shitty kids come from straight couples as do good kids. I'm sure the same would hold true for same sex parents if self-righteous bigots like yourself would get off their soapboxes and afford them the equal rights they deserve. The only side effect I can think of for same sex parents is more open-minded, tolerant people being brought into the world.
@Drudy90 Dodging questions and getting testy…it sound to me like someone's losing a debate to a guy who uses the term “finger smeller” in his argument. For a lack of a better word; that's so gay! Ah CPS, the corner stone of every Conservative's views on family values (what!?). No, children should not be taken away from any parent unless they are in an abusive environment. Still, I’m not sure what that has to do with 2 Muffin Eaters having the right to compromise the integrity of marrige.
@mdstalla All I'm saying is it sounded a lot like you're in favor of no one being allowed to parent unless the family has both a man and a woman. And again, who is compromising the integrity of marriage? Gays, the only minority group still being denied equal rights, or heterosexuals with a divorce rate of over 50%? See your argument has nothing but Teaparty propaganda, the Bible, and a deep seated homophobia that I'm guessing stems from repressed homosexual desires.
@Drudy90 Ok, I’ll let you go. I can tell you are passionate about this subject, probably because you have one hand on the closet door. Save the typical, skipping record Liberal shit about bible-thumping propaganda, you got crushed on sound reason. Sorry for being insensitive; but I thought Liberals liked witty comedy; or is that only when it agrees with you. I know you think you are in the right, but your not. Your views are weak and irresponsible to the cheesy tune of trendy-childishness.
@mdstalla And just so you don't think I'm dodging questions, ignorant rednecks such as yourself can't reproduce with your sister because inbreeding results in genetic abnormalities that harm the physical health of a child. Tangible harm = illegal. No research has shown in other countries that children do any better or worse in same sex homes than opposite sex ones. Does that answer your question?
@Drudy90 Ya, if we we're arguing the quality of the product gained from sexual intercourse; but that would debunk your entire argument. Dude on dude meat gobbling = soar throat, not kids. And come on- the diminishing populous of the Socialist Islamic Union of Europe isn’t exactly a guiding light of civil health and prosperity right now. Call me radical; I'm just uncomfortable devaluing a 5K year bedrock institution of civilization into insignificance so Adam and Steve can get a tax break.
@mdstalla I just don't understand how opening marriage to include same sex couples in any "devalues" it. Adam and Steve have the same status as US citizens, they pay the same taxes, I don't get why they're not entitled to the same rights, privileges, and benefits as us.
@Drudy90 They are! A gay man can legally marry any woman they’d like. That’s no different from you’re right, my right or anyone else’s right. You see, your argument isn’t pushing equal rights, it’s trying to redefine the very instruction we already have a right too! If we were talking popcorn; I’d have no beef with you; but the sanctity of traditional family values; no matter how fucked up our asshole society has made it; is not only important; but it’s the most important thing I know of.
@mdstalla You have the right to marry the person you want (because you presumably want to marry a woman) and be happy. A gay person does not have the right to marry the consenting adult of his choice and be happy. That's not equal rights plain and simple. And as for the traditional family, no such thing. Michel Foucault (no doubt more intelligent than yourself) wrote a book entitled "The history of Sexuality" in which he explained, backed with historical evidence, that the family has been
@mdstalla evolving throughout history, particularly since the 17th century. Read it, educate yourself. You may be surprised to find hat the "traditional" family you conservatives are so fond of didn't come into existence until around the 1950's.
@mdstalla I'm speaking on a macro-level (that means big picture). Ridiculous is ignoring intellectual arguments against your position simply because they are against your position. I'm not saying it'll change your mind, but it'll give you some perspective outside of your own limited experiences.
@Drudy90 I don’t mean to be condescending (that means talking down to); but having a conversation with a schizophrenic is not mind opening; it’s bizarre. To believe that traditional family values has the same approximate date stamp as the Jr. Whopper w/ Cheese because you read it in a book is a conversation my ‘limited experience’ intellect just doesn’t have the patience or interest to peruse (sorry, I left my gravity bong at home).
@mdstalla Again with the clever wit, but making jokes doesn't back up your argument at all. All you've proven here is that like most other conservatives you're bigoted and intimidated by new ideas. In my book you can't live with your eyes closed, clinging to your ideas like a child clinging to their favorite security blanket. Facts don't go away because you refuse to acknowledge them. Have a good life and good luck making it in the world without ever exposing yourself to new ideas.
@Drudy90 […continuation] Unfortunately, I predict you will have your Legal Gay Marriage rights; which will open the floodgates to 2 straight dudes who are BFFs, but just want a tax break , getting married. And why stop at 2 when a collection of 50K polygamists can claim the same intolerance? At some point the government will have to call the whole thing a wash!? That is what I mean by the’ compromise of the integrity of marriage’ into insignificance.
@Drudy90 I love how tradition, custom and generationally passed values is a sign of weakness to the Liberal Elite. Your pop-culture, ‘in style’ views are not only easy to preach; they’re even easier to follow. I’m no martyr; but people with my views are not exactly being invited to the Playboy Mansion or making appearances at Emmy After-show parties. Conversely, when 5/6ths of ‘The View’s’ panel agrees with your social ideology; you are not a Rebel; you’re a Soccer Mom! [Briefly continued]
So you're okay with $1.3 trillion deficits being the new norm and anyone who isn't deserves to be slapped with a vulgar label and ridiculed? Wow, you really are among the elite thinkers of our time. That's brilliant.
@serotta09 Hell no, we're not okay with it. So why won't you let us close corporate tax loopholes and re-institute the estate tax for billionaires? If we need $1.3 Trillion, why don't we get it from the only people who actually have money right now?
@DarthRandall I don't think you understand the nature or scale of the problem. It's spending and it's about 50% too high. Your revenue ideas would balance the budget for maybe a few months, but then we're right back into $1T deficits. Corporate taxes are passed thru to the consumer, so you and I end up paying those. There aren't enough rich people to shake down and you can only do it once. The only lasting solution is to reduce spending. Or say f*ck the economy and burn it all down.
@serotta09 The market dictates prices, not taxes. The only taxes that do directly affect the prices of consumer goods are sales taxes. Income taxes, tariffs, and the like, on the other hand, only affect profit margins which are at record levels for those in the top income brackets. This is because they do not directly affect the cost to produce and distribute goods and services. Also, raising taxes on top earners is not a short-term fix, provided the taxes stay in place.
And where do you get the idea that cutting spending on programs that have proven their value will do anything but constrict the GDP even further thus exacerbating the problem? That money is not being thrown away but rather invested in the infrastructure of this country. You may not believe it, but there are things that the public sector does far better than the private sector, like law enforcement, education, and yes health care.
@DarthRandall Were do you think we are already getting it from? And btw; who the fuck are you to say that we should take money from the rich? Why don't we take it from you; at least the rich are providing a useful product/service? You add no value; you tear down things like ‘a healthcare system that’s the envy of the world.’ Failures like you want the rich, job creators to pay 99% of the countys taxes; and then you’re shocked when they say 'fuck this' and move (your job) to India.
@mdstalla Who am I? Just someone who pays his taxes, unlike the executives at GE, GM, and Exxon. We should take it from them, because they have enjoyed the benefits of our society more than the rest of us and have paid less than their fair share back into it. And get over the notion that they are "job creators." The market creates jobs, not the rich assholes who own the corporations. As long as there is a demand, there will be a supply to meet it.
Very nice satire. I like how he brought up the hypocrisy of the tea-baggers using the government programs which help our lives. I don't think he was saying whether cash for clunkers was a good or bad idea, but it wasn't put into place to help American citizens, it was put in to help the auto companies who could no longer compete. Same thing with the $8k tax rebate for first time home owners. That was more for baby boomers to prop up the value of their homes rather than young people saving money.
As America slips further and further away from the world in education and technology, we sit back and can thank Christian Conservatives for killing America.
Just because someone doesnt believe what you believe doesnt make you better, maybe "your God" sent him to help us? Stop being so hateful and discriminating athiests, your like the romans were to jesus. Ive got a theory jesus was real, but he was bi-polar so he thought he was special!!!!
@GoddessFourWind Religion, the B.S. they've shoveled for 3k yrs.My question is.How can one read the bible, listen to religious figures and the mindless flock of 3rd rate followers, have a speck of intelligence and decide,"Yep,it's all God's plan.I'll worship this nonentity,I'll judge others for God,use him to persecute those who's beliefs may differ, ignore rationality, reject science and redefine hypocrisy,as I cower behind a fictional character's promise of immortality." It's indefensibly stupid.
@baddalbatross42 Most people, myself included, are indoctrinated as children. They grow up trusting the words of the adults in their world...parents, friends' parents, pastors, most teachers (whether they're supposed to say anything or not). I was taught, "God works in mysterious ways," "You cannot know the Mind of God" and to never question the word of the Bible. So I didn't. I was actually a "good" Catholic, so far as that went, since it wasn't so deep. My biological dad showed me the truth.
@GoddessFourWinds Good deal. If only we all had dad's like yours... it would be a different planet , in a good way. Take it easy, and watch out for the "wrath" of the hypocrites... I mean faith driven... they're like zombies, they won't quit. Later.
@baddalbatross42 LOL! I am unafraid of the religious...until they stand on my porch with shotguns "in the name of god." lol And that would be cool, too. They aren't the only ones who own firearms. ;)
@GoddessFourWinds Get em' GoddessFourWinds. They had better leave you alone or you can prove them wrong once and for all... unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to wag your finger and say ~ " I tried to tell you... but noooo." lol Take care and keep spreading rationality to the mindless cattle.
@nuncacat the Teaparty simply says that both the republicans and democrats have messed up washington, and its time for a change. We want free market economy to take hold. I am in the minority, I am an atheist teaparty supporter. Wanting the gov't to keep a balanced budget should be common sense rather than the ridiculous spending. The propaganda about the teaparty is false and just yellow journalism. try doing some research.
@nuncacat Go check out Herman Cain before you start making racial comments about the teaparty. Im not telling you what to believe, but please do some research rather than rejurgitate what you hear on the news.

MrSafetymeeting 6 months ago
@MrSafetymeeting You're right. The tea party started around the time the government was bailing out the financial and auto industries. It started out with the best of intentions, but has captured the hearts of mostly fanatical conservatives. The Tea Party now stands for the exact things the GOP stands for, just more on an extreme level. While some conservatives were willing to work with the dems raising the debt roof, the tea party politicans were united in saying no.

Therefore, just like you; I have no problem criticizing thems.
mdstalla 11 months ago
@mdstalla I said "discrimination" not judgement. I'll judge dumb rednecks all day, but unlike you I won't try to deny them any rights or freedoms based on my contempt. That's the difference between you and me.
Drudy90 11 months ago
@Drudy90 And I thought our divide was that you smoke skin missiles and I don’t (I mean that judgmentally, not discriminationally). Save me the sob story of your uphill struggle for equality in this cruel/oppressive country. I can’t turn on the TV without seeing a celebration of some fabulous butt detective flipping a home! But the country still unanimously agrees that there are some rare intuitions that are important enough as to not be compromised by the childish demands of finger smellers.
mdstalla 11 months ago
@mdstalla Keep in mind with all your clever name calling that I never said I was gay. I'm actually a straight man with many gay friends and I'd like to see them have the same rights that I enjoy. And what makes heterosexual marriage so sacred? The divorce rate is over 50%, Larry King is on his 9th marriage, and Tiger Woods had affairs with over 50 women. And people like you argue that gays are a threat to the institution of marriage. (P.S. Discriminationally is not a word)
Drudy90 11 months ago
@Drudy90 How about polygamy? Is that a right? How about a legal union between a dude and a Clydesdale? Why can’t a Redneck like me marry my own sister? To say that there is no difference between a man and a woman except body parts is false. Both parties bring something important and unique to the child-rearing table; that Siegfried and Roy couldn’t. Yes, marriage is abused but for every example you gave there is 10 amazing stories of a man and woman who made it work.
mdstalla 11 months ago
@mdstalla So I take it you're in favor of CPS taking children away from widows and widowers? Single parents should lose their children? Lots of shitty kids come from straight couples as do good kids. I'm sure the same would hold true for same sex parents if self-righteous bigots like yourself would get off their soapboxes and afford them the equal rights they deserve. The only side effect I can think of for same sex parents is more open-minded, tolerant people being brought into the world.
Drudy90 11 months ago
@Drudy90 Dodging questions and getting testy…it sound to me like someone's losing a debate to a guy who uses the term “finger smeller” in his argument. For a lack of a better word; that's so gay! Ah CPS, the corner stone of every Conservative's views on family values (what!?). No, children should not be taken away from any parent unless they are in an abusive environment. Still, I’m not sure what that has to do with 2 Muffin Eaters having the right to compromise the integrity of marrige.
mdstalla 11 months ago
@mdstalla All I'm saying is it sounded a lot like you're in favor of no one being allowed to parent unless the family has both a man and a woman. And again, who is compromising the integrity of marriage? Gays, the only minority group still being denied equal rights, or heterosexuals with a divorce rate of over 50%? See your argument has nothing but Teaparty propaganda, the Bible, and a deep seated homophobia that I'm guessing stems from repressed homosexual desires.
Drudy90 11 months ago
@Drudy90 Ok, I’ll let you go. I can tell you are passionate about this subject, probably because you have one hand on the closet door. Save the typical, skipping record Liberal shit about bible-thumping propaganda, you got crushed on sound reason. Sorry for being insensitive; but I thought Liberals liked witty comedy; or is that only when it agrees with you. I know you think you are in the right, but your not. Your views are weak and irresponsible to the cheesy tune of trendy-childishness.
mdstalla 11 months ago
@mdstalla And just so you don't think I'm dodging questions, ignorant rednecks such as yourself can't reproduce with your sister because inbreeding results in genetic abnormalities that harm the physical health of a child. Tangible harm = illegal. No research has shown in other countries that children do any better or worse in same sex homes than opposite sex ones. Does that answer your question?
Drudy90 11 months ago
@Drudy90 Ya, if we we're arguing the quality of the product gained from sexual intercourse; but that would debunk your entire argument. Dude on dude meat gobbling = soar throat, not kids. And come on- the diminishing populous of the Socialist Islamic Union of Europe isn’t exactly a guiding light of civil health and prosperity right now. Call me radical; I'm just uncomfortable devaluing a 5K year bedrock institution of civilization into insignificance so Adam and Steve can get a tax break.
mdstalla 11 months ago
@mdstalla I just don't understand how opening marriage to include same sex couples in any "devalues" it. Adam and Steve have the same status as US citizens, they pay the same taxes, I don't get why they're not entitled to the same rights, privileges, and benefits as us.
Drudy90 11 months ago
@Drudy90 They are! A gay man can legally marry any woman they’d like. That’s no different from you’re right, my right or anyone else’s right. You see, your argument isn’t pushing equal rights, it’s trying to redefine the very instruction we already have a right too! If we were talking popcorn; I’d have no beef with you; but the sanctity of traditional family values; no matter how fucked up our asshole society has made it; is not only important; but it’s the most important thing I know of.
mdstalla 11 months ago
@mdstalla You have the right to marry the person you want (because you presumably want to marry a woman) and be happy. A gay person does not have the right to marry the consenting adult of his choice and be happy. That's not equal rights plain and simple. And as for the traditional family, no such thing. Michel Foucault (no doubt more intelligent than yourself) wrote a book entitled "The history of Sexuality" in which he explained, backed with historical evidence, that the family has been
Drudy90 11 months ago
@mdstalla evolving throughout history, particularly since the 17th century. Read it, educate yourself. You may be surprised to find hat the "traditional" family you conservatives are so fond of didn't come into existence until around the 1950's.
Drudy90 11 months ago
@Drudy90 Yes, my grandma was married to 3 dudes, 12 women and a ceramic unicorn. Are you kidding me bud!? Now you're just being ridiculous.
mdstalla 11 months ago
@mdstalla I'm speaking on a macro-level (that means big picture). Ridiculous is ignoring intellectual arguments against your position simply because they are against your position. I'm not saying it'll change your mind, but it'll give you some perspective outside of your own limited experiences.
Drudy90 11 months ago
@Drudy90 I don’t mean to be condescending (that means talking down to); but having a conversation with a schizophrenic is not mind opening; it’s bizarre. To believe that traditional family values has the same approximate date stamp as the Jr. Whopper w/ Cheese because you read it in a book is a conversation my ‘limited experience’ intellect just doesn’t have the patience or interest to peruse (sorry, I left my gravity bong at home).
mdstalla 11 months ago
@mdstalla Again with the clever wit, but making jokes doesn't back up your argument at all. All you've proven here is that like most other conservatives you're bigoted and intimidated by new ideas. In my book you can't live with your eyes closed, clinging to your ideas like a child clinging to their favorite security blanket. Facts don't go away because you refuse to acknowledge them. Have a good life and good luck making it in the world without ever exposing yourself to new ideas.
Drudy90 11 months ago
@Drudy90 […continuation] Unfortunately, I predict you will have your Legal Gay Marriage rights; which will open the floodgates to 2 straight dudes who are BFFs, but just want a tax break , getting married. And why stop at 2 when a collection of 50K polygamists can claim the same intolerance? At some point the government will have to call the whole thing a wash!? That is what I mean by the’ compromise of the integrity of marriage’ into insignificance.
mdstalla 11 months ago
@Drudy90 I love how tradition, custom and generationally passed values is a sign of weakness to the Liberal Elite. Your pop-culture, ‘in style’ views are not only easy to preach; they’re even easier to follow. I’m no martyr; but people with my views are not exactly being invited to the Playboy Mansion or making appearances at Emmy After-show parties. Conversely, when 5/6ths of ‘The View’s’ panel agrees with your social ideology; you are not a Rebel; you’re a Soccer Mom! [Briefly continued]

serotta09 11 months ago
@serotta09 Hell no, we're not okay with it. So why won't you let us close corporate tax loopholes and re-institute the estate tax for billionaires? If we need $1.3 Trillion, why don't we get it from the only people who actually have money right now?
DarthRandall 11 months ago
@DarthRandall I don't think you understand the nature or scale of the problem. It's spending and it's about 50% too high. Your revenue ideas would balance the budget for maybe a few months, but then we're right back into $1T deficits. Corporate taxes are passed thru to the consumer, so you and I end up paying those. There aren't enough rich people to shake down and you can only do it once. The only lasting solution is to reduce spending. Or say f*ck the economy and burn it all down.
serotta09 11 months ago
@serotta09 The market dictates prices, not taxes. The only taxes that do directly affect the prices of consumer goods are sales taxes. Income taxes, tariffs, and the like, on the other hand, only affect profit margins which are at record levels for those in the top income brackets. This is because they do not directly affect the cost to produce and distribute goods and services. Also, raising taxes on top earners is not a short-term fix, provided the taxes stay in place.
DarthRandall 11 months ago
And where do you get the idea that cutting spending on programs that have proven their value will do anything but constrict the GDP even further thus exacerbating the problem? That money is not being thrown away but rather invested in the infrastructure of this country. You may not believe it, but there are things that the public sector does far better than the private sector, like law enforcement, education, and yes health care.
DarthRandall 11 months ago

You may not believe it, but there are things that the public sector does far better than the private sector, like law enforcement, education, and yes health care.
DarthRandall 11 months ago
@DarthRandall Were do you think we are already getting it from? And btw; who the fuck are you to say that we should take money from the rich? Why don't we take it from you; at least the rich are providing a useful product/service? You add no value; you tear down things like ‘a healthcare system that’s the envy of the world.’ Failures like you want the rich, job creators to pay 99% of the countys taxes; and then you’re shocked when they say 'fuck this' and move (your job) to India.
mdstalla 11 months ago

@baddalbatross42 Most people, myself included, are indoctrinated as children.
