  • Sen. Gregg wins $853,000 in Powerball

'I don't plan to quit my job'

  • Judd Gregg is a jackass. He never complained when Bush turned a large surplus into a deficit. A giant blowhard is what he is. He voted against a bill that would have provided $250 dollars to seniors. These are the people who put this jackass into office. Thank god he is retiring soon. Unlike most seniors he doesn't have to worry about money. Fuck off Judd and die!!!

  • I think Judd Gregg is what this country needs! He is factual that the budget of the Obama Administration simply spends too much. He is DOUBLING then TRIPLING the National Debt. Guess who pays for that! You, your kids, your kids' kids. This is so anti-American and Obama must be stopped. Judd Gregg is CORRECT as well as RIGHT! Please listen to him and SAVE YOUR COUNTRY!

  • let me ask you this, yeah you give us numbers but what is your solution????? YOU HAVE NONE. what's this government fallen into man, come together and get this country going.

  • The solution is to STOP the incredible excessive spending so we can afford our government. AMERICANS create jobs, not the government. REDUCE taxation, give the money BACK to the people and LET US BE AMERICANS!

  • Thank you for putting Peter Orzag in his place yesterday Senator. This administration is going to bankrupt our nation unless he is stopped. Keep up the good fight for the sake of our grandkids!

  • another republican with lots to say but no real answers.

  • Vote against tax increases and blind spending sprees. Vote for a reduction in the size of government. Vote to support American businesses which create jobs. Things will improve rapidly.

  • Gregg is a disingenuous prick. And yes, Gregg, we have heard this before. Reagan tripled the Gross Federal Debt, from $900 billion to $2.7 trillion. Bush spending doubled national debt from $5 trillion to more than $10 trillion.

Stop it with the partisan attacks against Obama like the TOTALLY false attacks in this speech about the "governnent coming between you and your doctor."

  • Regan had to rebuild our military, you have no idea how weak we were after 4 years of the Carter administration. With Regans tax cuts we had the longest period of econmic growth in history. Your numbers are simply wrong.

  • Greg = da da da douchebag!!!

  • Shut up Senator Gregg your a fake who operates for the bankers.

  • Achtung! Spender of last resort! If American consumers won't spend, the President says, "I'll spend the money Obamadangself!"

  • He voted to keep women quite when they are raped by a tax funded Corperation hired by the government. He and 29 other Republican senators. Luckily the Franken amendment passed thanks to every democrate and 1/3 the republicans (women) so now women like Jamie Leigh Jones who was gang raped can take her rapists to court. No thanks to senators like you Mr. Judd Gregg.

  • What a political chicken little. When all else fails, lie........it's what they do best

  • wow. Everything this guy said, except maybe for "my name is Judd Gregg" is a complete lie

Obama is NOT going to double the debt. That's what BUSH did. The deficit is expected to be cut in half by the end of Obama's first term

Obama cut taxes on 95% of Americans. He did NOT increase taxes

Cap and trade would NOT increase utilities by $3k/year. The MIT researchers that the GOP quotes came out and said that the Gop's use of those figures is "inaccurate and misleading"

    I could go on

  • What do you expect from a man who with 29 other republicans voted against Senator Al Frankens amendment to the Defense Appropriations bill that would in fact punish contractors if they "restrict their employees from taking workplace sexual assault, battery and discrimination cases to court." Yea, hes pro rape. Just look up Jamie Leigh Jones. She was gang raped by several of Halliburton/KBR male employees. Guess he thought she should just forget about it and move on........

  • i mention that he resembles michael j fox over the illegal taps,

    and look what happens

    the same for sarah palin

    sad,

    what's next?

  • me mentioning gizmo as the attorney general, and chucky cheese as the press secretary?

why is there a lack of conviction among the republican voice?

    seriously!

  • republican propaganda makes a comeback. someone tell him that no one cares for tired, old conservative BS.

  • dont go to cnn, dont go to fox...do your own research and then shoot yourself in the foot

  • repubs suck!!

  • In health care, like most anything, you get what you pay for. If you prefer getting health care from a government provider, then you must also enjoy your visits to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles!

You really shouldn't believe everything the nightly news tells you.

  • Well, it so happens that I lived in Canada many years so it is a subject that indeed know something about. Provided that you eventually get in to a doctor, socialized medicine is minimal at best. The true legacy of this sort of medicine is in the graveyards of these nations. In our modern world, millions of people are deprived of cures because poor health care, and I really doubt your statement that longer life expectancy is tied to the health care, or is even factual.

  • JPBALKENENDE, you suck. You are very wrong and have no idea what you are talking about.

  • Can someone enlighten us all as to the true cost of the war of lies? (where are the wmd btw?)

how are we paying for it? how much did we borrow to pay for it?

    cost per income earner?

would seem to me that all the Bush supporters should at least be up for payig for that with a tax surcharge to help get us out of the hole?

  • non-sequitur

  • If the econ turns around Obama will get the credit and republicans will have been seen as having obstructed him, it's that simple. And everybody still blames Bush for the economy so he has quite a bit of time to turn it around (heck if you look at the Reagan recession early in his term he didn't turn the economy around till 84).

  • Large economies do have a certain amount of hysteresis but it is possible the economy will turn around in one 4-year term.

At some point however, the gov't will need to get money from somewhere. The Fed can't continue to print money without serious inflation. Doubtful China will continue to finance the growing debt. Taxes *must* increase, significantly!

I don't see any rising stars in the republican party so one must assume the democrats will still be in control when this happens.

  • @Petrov

And with that again you cons help us out since if there's ANYTHIN we can learn from Reagan and Bush it's Reagan's old saying "deficit's don't matter".

But deficits will simply get a lot smaller (as % of GDP) as the incidental (financial crisis) spending goes away, we untangle ourselves from the financial commitments in the middle east and cut the broken contractor system in defense, bring healthcare costs down simply by taking a page out of the books of any other developed country.

  • CONT

Reverse the Bush tax cuts on the wealthy, cap-n trade is sure to have some revenue as well and of course econ growth increases revenues and decreases deficit/GDP ratio.

  • This is where we disagree. Deficits will grow, not shrink.

  • @Petrov

Bush's was a horrible deficit spender, but his last deficit of 1.3 trillion was incidental because of all of the bailouts, Obama has the same deal in 09 which is why it's projected to be 1.8 trillion. If the economy does turn around that means no more bailouts that means loans paid back (in theory but we can expect some of the money back) and revenues go up. We had horrid deficits with Reagan as well but they vanished in the 90s. No reason to believe that can't happen again.

  • And the debt in WW2 went all the way up to 120% and was cut 40% to 80% fairly quickly.

  • Comment removed

  • I've read all your posts on this page and this remark about healthcare assures me that you are either really stupid, or quite insane.

Name just ONE country where they have socialized medicine thats working! You can't you moron! There arent enough Doctors because they have no incentive to go to school. People are sicker and die sooner from lack of care. Medications and equipment are at a premium!! Ignorant lemming!

  • @creatus

    You're really ignorant aren't you?

Australia, Canada, Japan, Swedem, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Netherlands, France, Uk, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland Luxembourg heck I could go on all day. All of them have better healthcare systems, all of them have cheaper healthcare systems in fact most of them twice as cheap.

  • As a mindless leftist, you don't deserve freedom. You deserve all the pain and economic destruction that leftist spending policies will bring as never before. Liberal Republicans like Bush and Nixon are blameworthy in the sense of capitulating to Democrat immorality of leftist profligacy in "entitlement programs" perpetrated by liberal leftists. Reagan was forced to capitulate to Democrats liberal deficit spending in order to pass funding for defense to force Soviet Union to spend to its end

  • LOL. No. How about cut down on government. Bad government programs. Revise programs, like welfare and food stamps. How about not getting too involved with Obama Motors aka as GM? How about dont earmark money (previously lied and said he never would)? I dont see how some as "smart" as Obama can be so stupid. This is called socialism, enjoy.

  • I think some of you are misinformed or are uneducated about this situation. We are in the mess we are in because in 1998 the cap was taken off of the financial sector so that banks could offer risky loans. This cap was put on during the great depression to safe guard us againsit another depression. But againsit what they knew was right they went ahead and allowed banks to offer risky loans because senators were getting paid by the banks to pass this. In 98 Bill Clinton, (D), was in office.

  • @EKC97

At least you have the right economic facts instead of the CRA crap. Clinton did sign it but it was republican policy (Gramm-Leach-Biley) and of course inherently conservative in principle (deregulation, leave the markets alone!).

  • Comment removed

  • NO wonder you withdrew your name from Commerce Secretary. You couldn't help your partisanship man. This video response is a proof. Where the hell have you been when the Bushes whacked the country, ha?

  • The whole situation is pathetic, more spending beyond our means, dumb down education standards, free health care for all and no jobs for everyone .

Fill up the prisons with murderers and drug dealers, welcome the illegals with open arms.

Send our men and women into harms way for a bunch tribal low life's.

Solve the problems of the world, lock our borders, bring home our troops, tax every import into the country, stop selling out the country!

  • We still have some good representitives here in New Hampshire. I'm proud of Senator Gregg.

I just wish more people would listen to him.

  • so true. =. giving money to the one dat waste it...hmm I would give all that money to be revive out of debt to all citizins. (but hey..its just F'n paper..-KEEP ur gold..lol)

  • Answer- cut every federal program that states already have. Simple, makes sense. Why do I have to pay for 2 dept of education?

  • what the hell do you dumbass, war mongers know... look what you did to the world- dumbass

  • As a US citizen, I regret the influence my gov't currently has over other nations.

I would prefer we gradually withdraw our military forces from other nations and spend fewer taxes on these bases.

There's an outcry in this nation to reduce the size of the military. I see no better way than to start with occupation forces.

  • What about U? Yu sound soooooooooo dumb.

  • jjrglobal What's your problem? Attacking me won't help the republicans, it seems a lot of them are uneducated. After the last FAILED run for the presidency, and the candidates your party served up, ha ha ha ha.

  • Now, my party, the Republicans offer no alternative, however, we can criticize without merit. We can offer false allegations while offering no plan of our own. We can tell people not to do things like we did them by borrowing too much, spending too much, wasting too much, giving out too much.

Thank you for taking the time to listen and have a great weekend.

  • Hello, I'm Judd Greg and my party is responsible for ruining America. 9/11 happened on our watch and so did the financial crisis. We were responsible for the largest entitlement increase in world history. We sent thousands of regular Americans to their death or life long injury in the Middle East, while we cut taxes on the riches and provided plush war contracts to our friends.

  • Yeah... that sucks.

No way to stop 9/11 tho.

I'm not rich but my taxes were cut. The tax cuts were not only for the rich.

The rising cost of entitlements is bad. Eliminate them.

Unfortunately, the current budget does the opposite.

  • you should have voted for Ron Paul!

  • Absolutely!

  • I am so sick of you republicans sitting around trying to bring down my new president. If you had the answere you would still be in office, and the country would be in good financial condition. Well, you FAILED. Bush and his vp has all the money from the war, and U want to put my new president down? I DON'T think so. STOP PLAYING THE RACE GAME. OBGAMA IS NOT GOING TO FAIL AS PRESIDENT. GET OVER IT. Let's work together as one country. DON'T HATE THE PLAYER HATE THE GAME.

  • How is Obama and his policies going to help this country? Just because GW Bush spent tons of money, doesn't make it right for Obama to come in and spend more. How much sense does it make to say Bush screwed up by spending too much so we're gonna spend even more than he did? What results does Obama think this will have?

  • He's my president too.

    He is very charismatic.

His economic philosophy is flawed, in my opinion.

Lets work together to bring fiscal restraint to gov't again.

  • "Lets work together to bring fiscal restraint to gov't again."

It's completely retarded to talk about fiscal restraint WHEN WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF E NEAR DEPRESSION! Do you WANT 30% unemployment ? What makes it extra jarring is that you conservatives cheered Reagan-Bush all the way when they QUADRUPLED the debt from 900 billion to 4 trillion and happily cheered on Bush jr as well when he doubled it and added a cool 5 trillion to it. In THOSE economic times you have opportunity for restraint

  • I'd say you're projecting the "race game" onto others. I haven't seen or heard any comments about Obama's race. And by the way, when Obama was elected, mostly with the white vote, you forfeited your race card.

  • Where was u republicans when Bush was spending and pocketing all our tax dollars. Now the tax payers can spend money getting the country back in financial order. STOP HATING

  • It's " where were the republicans"

Are you really this illiterate in English or just trying to sound ghetto for some reason?

  • ILLIRATE OR NOT, U REPUBLICANS CAN GO JUMP OFF A BRIDGE. I am ghetto, surprised that I have a computer?

  • @Blckwdw132

    Did you graduate high school?

What do you do for a living?

  • No. I do nothing.

  • Jump off a bridge? WHO is hating WHOM??? Hypocrite.

  • My taxes went down under Bush. I am middle class.

Gov't spending went up, big time under Bush. Very disappointed by that. It's the reason why Republicans got the boot last year.

I will pay the taxes demanded of me. But it won't *fix* the economy. We are supposed to be a free market, not a command economy. Command economies don't work. China discovered this. The Soviet Union discovered this.

Don't think raising taxes is going to fix anything. It will only destroy what's left.

  • "Gov't spending went up, big time under Bush. Very disappointed by that. It's the reason why Republicans got the boot last year."

Yeah keep kidding yourself soon this purifying campaign will make sure repubs won't get further than 30% base and that's it. It makes no sense whatsoever that the voters would have chosen democrats because the republicans were too much like democrats. Every single poll that show voters think the GOP is too right wing and what policies the voters want says the same.

  • Not going to happen. Once taxes go up (and they will), the democrats are going to get kicked out of office.

  • Comment removed

  • Don't worry - as soon as we hit quadruple our national debt, we will have rebuilt our infrastructure and businesses and then tell China 'we can't afford to pay you back' and then thumb our noses at them - and will push them into bankruptcy. A war won without firing a shot.

It's a great plan. Don't worry, just let it unfold as it should.

  • Now that makes sense.

Or maybe have hyperinflation from printing all this excess and then paying of debt will be easy.

Everyone needs to leverage themselves as much as the banks will allow.

  • Good luck with that.

  • I am a conservative. I believe that most of congress should be tossed out of office because of the financial fiasco. The only exceptions are the few Ron Pauls that have warned us about this since 1999. Sadly I fear that most people that work for the ever growing state do not vote with my principles in mind.

  • "Sadly I fear that most people that work for the ever growing state do not vote with my principles in mind."

They don't, welcome to politics and representational democracy.

  • lulz for a minute when I read the title, I thought it said "Senator Judge Dredd..." I AM THE LAW

  • i just dunno if i can trust the GOP, i mean in the 8 years bush was in office we went FAR into debt and no majority of republicans objected; but now that the dems are in power they're trying to represent balancing the budget?

i'm not trying to be biased or a jerk or anything; if anybody can explain this i'll gladly listen.

  • Allow me to explain it this way: When Bush was in debt, we went FAR into debt. With Obama in office, we will go FFFFFFFFFFFFAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!! into debt.

  • @kid

Yes because while Bush had a mild dotcom bubble and two wars to deal with, Obama has a near depression and two wars to deal with.

Still Obama wont plunge the USA in as much debt as Reagan-GHW did. They doubled the debt from 32.6% to 66.2%.of GDP. After the Clinton cutting and Bush surge in debt it stood at 68.2%.

So when Gregg talks about the horrors of 80% Obama debt 'bankrupting the nation' (in the post war boom it stood at 117%) notice he doesn't even leverage 1/3 as much as Reagan!

  • I watched videos went to UC DAvis, and have many history books. I know about the history of the republican party and democratic party. You do know that the KKK was founded by democrats? correct? I am anything but stupid and ignorant. You dems like to do that to people who disagree with you. Your persnickity attitude is not angering. It is enlightening. Being so insecure that you can't tolerate differences of opinion. Sad again.

  • You know what is really sad. Is that most republicans I know have not defended their party because they have become too complacent and too much corrupt. Democrats have not done the same. Instead they have protected their party over their country. democrats would rather see their country destroyed before telling their own party it stinks. Sad.

  • Search for "Geography of the United States Elections" on youtube and watch the entire lecture series. You might learn something about the real composition of the two party system above all the partisan bullshit.

  • Have you been alive the last 8 years you retard? Republicans have only been washing their hands over the whole affair that has been their disastrous leadership the last year. And it proves nothing more than the fact that they have been abysmal. The fact that they try to play it off as 'too much like democrats' is extra pathetic.

  • Senator Gregg. As you seem to be concerned with deficits and 'bankrupting America' you ought to lake a look at the fiscal disaster that is your own parties 'budget' proposal. Seeing as you wont I will think of you as the partisan hack you are.

  • It kills me that the only response you liberals have to Obama's massive budget/debt proposals is to point fingers at Bush's budget and debt. That makes a lot of sense. Obama's plan will put us in twice as much debt as ALL THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATIONS PUT TOGETHER, ALL THE WAY BACK TO WASHINGTON. So your finger pointing is pretty ridiculous.

  • First of where did I mention Bush you moron?

Secondly why are you conservatives such compulsive liars?

"ALL THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATIONS PUT TOGETHER, ALL THE WAY BACK TO WASHINGTON."

I have seen this a few times before and of the current 11 trillion debt we have every single penny can be traces back to George Bush, George Bush Sr and Ronald Reagan. Obama isn't projected to add another 11 trillion of debt, even the 9 trillion figure cited looks pas his administration 2 years. So why do you lie?

  • BHO is also disingenuous about the debt he inherited from GWB's administration. He claims over $1T, while the CBO says it's just over $560B.

So when BHO promises to cut the debt in half, he's talking about the debt BHO and his Congress are creating!

    We're so pw3ned!

  • Senator DeMint, talks the talk and walks the walk. He voted NAY on the service Act.

Conservatives have their eyes on you RINOS!

  • Senator Gregg, While I appreciate what you have said in your video, I cannot understand how you can justify your comments about having an "affordable government" with your vote in favor of the 6 BILLION dollar service Act!! How can you speak of our children's future with a straight face when you know that this bill is akin to a type of slavery? Servatude to the State, all to broaden the control and size of government and the nation's dependence on it? You're a RINO Mr. Gregg!

  • How did Sen Gregg even get on the list to be commerces sec. Obama only knew who he was because it was on his teleprompter.

  • you know the "christian"republicans* are in damned deep shit when the only thing they find wrong with obama is that he reads a teleprompter. they're pissed cause bush couldn't even find it to read from. had the buffoon** read from something other than his brain, we might not be in the mess the world finds itself today!

    *see exweez comment by exweex

    **buffoon n : george w. bush

  • Comment removed

  • where the hell were you judd and the rest of you "christian"republicans during the last 8 years when your congress and bush ran up the national dept like never before

WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU, you damned lying hypocrite!

  • you're right and obama has more than doubled it in 60 days

  • and for sure without hesitation obama can say *the devil made me do it!

*devil n 1 : the personal supreme spirit of evil 2 : in the US, the "christian"republican party representing the supreme spirit of evil.

  • Fighting to run for presidency? I don't know about that and its way to early to tell to who will be running in the next election. I'm just glad to see someone is speaking against the spending thats taking place and further increasing the deficit. I can tell you I've dealt with issues through Sen Judd Greggs office and have been very happy with results. I'm proud to say he NH's senator and is speaking out for what he believes in and for what many of his supporters believe in.

  • Bush ran up a 800 billion dollar deficit in 8 years. Obama will run up a 5 trillion dollar deficit in 3 months. Plus this cap and trade is going to triple you energy bills. Do you think you can afford a 1000.00 power bill? I can't.

  • Pathetic.

  • Yes, Republicans talking about fiscal responsibility. What a laugh.

  • Next time, the Senator should comb his hair, sit up straight, button his coat, and straighten his tie. Getting a good night's sleep might help too. He looks like a slob compared to President Obama in his address.

  • Grow up.

  • I'm proud to say that Senator Judd Gregg is my senator of the state I live in. I'm glad to see he is speaking out on this crazy spending and fighting for the people .

  • You mean fighting for a position in the next Republican candidacy for president, I think.

  • Comment removed

  • Obama sucks.

  • obama is awesome.

  • Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do. Democrats elected that whacko into office, and now we all have to suffer. Congress will not listen to their people, the president won't budge to congress, and we will see our government turn into something like a dictatorship (one person in control, a person who remains in control by military force and decides on all matters). Dictators are also usually socialists. Check one on Obama, and I'm praying that check two won't arrive, or we will be doomed.

  • 25% of Republicans voted for Obama.

  • Not anymore they won't they are very angry at Obama.

  • Maybe so, but the Reagan coalition of republicans is functionally dead. People like Gregg are trying to restore Goldwater Republicanism to the stage, but this would require a broad coalition with Southern and midwestern religious conservatives who are fundamentally anti-immigrant. Moderates overwhelmingly went Obama, and while many have issue with his budget, he is still more popular than Reagan, and in 2012 he will probably maintain the same dominance over swing voters and moderates alike.

  • Those southern religious conservatives you are stating were once dixicrats from the south that crossed to the republican party during the Nixon years. They were southern democrats and were racist as hell. They ruined the republican party. By the way the moderates in the poles have jumped shipped away from obama. He has lost also all the republicans that voted for him because he is too radical.

  • "Those southern religious conservatives you are stating were once dixicrats from the south that crossed to the republican party during the Nixon years."

You are absolutely right, and I'm sure the Dems are happy to get rid of them. Along those lines, New England used to be the center of the Republican Party, and now 100% of New England congressional districts are blue. As for the Dems destroying their country, that is baseless. Give it 4 years before you make such a value judgment.

  • Yes they ruined the republican party. The republicans were the party that fought for civil rights for minorities. That is the kind of conservative I am. I believe in America, the constitution and the rights of all Americans. I want my government to have limited enumerable power. But all I see and have seen for the past 20 years is a huge power grab from government. And Obama is the worst even more so than Bush.

  • You are pretty confused about the history of the Republican party, but I'll let you believe it because it's endearing.

  • I'd say YOU'RE the one who's confused."He is still more popular than Reagan, and in 2012 he will probably maintain the same dominance over swing voters and moderates alike"? Obama's popularity is dropping like a rock, and he's only been in office 2.5 months. He wants MANDATORY civil service from CHILDREN. He's walking straight down the Nazi road, and fewer and fewer people are going with him. I'd say you need to do some homework yourself.

  • "Obama's popularity is dropping like a rock," your evidence?

Today's Gallup poll puts Obama at 60%, a little higher (and much higher than Reagan at 3 months)

CBS polls put him at 64% last week , which is unbelievably popular. Though in one way you're right, Republicans who voted for him out of disdain for Bush are hardening against him (we sort of expected that), but swing voters still appear to love him. I will just laugh at the rest of your pathetic and uninformed little rant.

  • Senator Gregg, the move to the left has already happened, and the man that moved the country to the left was George W. Bush - the second coming of LBJ and his Great Society ideal of guns and butter. Gregg needs to show some real spine and oppose his own party apparatus.

  • Why can't we just all get along AND pay our bills! Oh, please.

  • My opinion is that we as a country need to work on getting that ugly debt paid off. Obama is very mistaken in his plan. Also, agreed, we will jeopardize our 'prosperity' if we do not give attention to the debt, we need to live in our means. Careful Republicans, you also have been guilty of raising the dept a very large percentage. However, Thank you Sen Gregg for your stand.

  • How did Sen. Gregg become the GOP poster boy? Since Reagan, the GOP has had a long record of amassing huge deficits, so I haven't found fiscal restraint to be a GOP value. However, if I held such strong opinions as Sen. Gregg about what's wrong with the new administration, I'd EMBRACE the opportunity to "change from within". If I had the opportunity to exercise influence and tweak the country even 1% in the direction of what I think is correct, I'd take the Commerce job and serve my country.

  • I am so glad that Senator Gregg has had the opportunity to become a voice for the Republican Party. He is very intelligent and brings alot of experience to the table. I think he should be considered for the presidency or, more favorably to me, a VP to Mitt Romney.
