dont want to burst anyones bubbles.... but unless you can build a diesel engine that can run without air, these were boats only, they never submerged. And for those who remember the surface of the sub being wet, look again at this video, when the subs leave the ride building, they pass under a water fall :)
I was one of those who wished they'd riden this ride when it WAS operational at the time. Now, it's been changed and is part of "The Little Mermaid". Oh, well... that's Disney and progress for ya.
I hate i missed riding this ride years ago! :( I heard from different people, some said it was boring, others said it was exciting. I bet it was pretty cool altogether, seeing the underwater world down there.
Such a shame this is gone! It was so cool to see this ride in action. Fantasyland is terrible these days. It's definatley in need of a major attraction..instead of pathetic Pooh's playful spot. Disneyland, CA Fantasyland is 1000 times better.
i didnt get to get on this but it looks kind of scary:/ and i liked the finding nemo ride! it has a small aquarium after you get off of the ride:)

This ride would scare the crap out of me as a child. Those are creepy looking subs and I blame Disney fully for my fear of submarines hahahaha.

@001GenLee it was a bit campy, but everytime i go past where the lagoon was, i shake my fist in anger that the ride isnt there anymore :(

One of the subs is being stored at Epcot behind The Land pavillion. It's off view from the public but you can clearly see it on Google Earth.

All the subs were buried in the scrap yard at DW. Read it on Mouse Planet

the subs were cut up for scrap, you could have bought pieces, like the port holes on eBay
